  1. Where's the "HELL NO!" option in the poll? -Julie
  2. I so wish I was there with everyone I loved that park so much. Make sure to ride La Jungla! It's such a Disney Jungle Cruise rip off! Should make for some great group rides! -Julie
  3. ^ pffft We all know that Walt isn't the skeleton at the helm in the hurricane in POTC. A little piece of him is buried under each Partners statue in the world. Duh! -Julie
  4. My car is an '88 Corsica, and I've decided to take it on my coaster trip through Jersey/Pennsylvania next month. So today, I took it to our mechanic and asked them to give it a thorough inspection so I could fix anything that may cause a problem for me before I went on my trip. You know what they found? NOTHING! My car is 20 years old and they couldn't find a single thing wrong with it! I mean, I was paying them to find problems with my car and they didn't find anything! God I love my car. And my car loves me in return -Julie
  5. I'm sure a week ago, we'd have all been saying "A cable snapping on a drop tower wouldn't cut someone's foot off" yet here we are. This accident just proves how you're never sure of what a ride malfunction could do! -Julie
  6. One of the banks near my work has those. They're so funny because they're kind of fisheye lenses, and the tellers are always really close to them. It reminds me of the backlot tour at USH haha I don't particularly like them! And I had a teller once get mad at me for bringing in a baggie of change, eventhough I had just enough of each coin in the bag to make up a roll, they just weren't rolled yet. How did someone get away with bringing in a potato sack of change?? -Julie
  7. My local news is also confirming that the girl is being treated at Vanderbilt Hospital, which I assume means the Vandy childrens hospital. I've been lucky enough to not experience it first hand, but supposedly it is one of the better childrens hospitals in the country. So she's in good hands! -Julie
  8. I agree, it was great getting to meet up with you a couple of times during your time there! And believe me, I completely understand how it feels to leave WDW, go back home and have everything feel so "Blah!" Those first few weeks after my program were just awful! Must be even worse for you because of your girlfriend, unless you convinced her to go home with you! hehe But anyway, here is my favorite picture! And I like your photo of you and Kevin much more than the copy I have of that picture! You are one of only four TPR members who have met "real Kevin" haha -Julie What's the best part of the German pavilion now that Soren is gone? The candy!
  9. Personally, I wish that they would just cancel the show now that Bob Barker has retired. I don't think anyone can adequately replace him, so I don't think they should try. They should give it a nice send off, then replace it with some crappy talk show (networks are good at doing that!) A few months ago, I heard that John O'Hurley was one of the candidates for his replacement. While I still wish the show would just be canceled, I think John O'Hurley would actually do a decent job of it. Unlike Rosie O'Donnell, which would just turn it into a horrible trainwreck of a show. -Julie
  10. Makes Family Auto Mart look like quality TV programming, huh? -Julie
  11. Nope, not me...even if I am fat and used to post to RRC! -Julie (Not an ACEr...I don't like gravy enough)
  12. Aww, I was just up there a week and a half ago and would have loved a tour! I had a great time...always have...when I've visited Kentucky Kingdom. I thought Deluge was great, and is a fantastic addition to the water park. All the employees seemed spot on, and I didn't see anyone goofing off, on cell phones or whatever. And he dispatches seemed reasonably fast (and in the case of Greezed Lightnin', they were almost running to get the trains out in a timely fashion!) I really like the direction the park is headed in, and will certainly be back. I'd really like to see Thunder Run get some love because it used to be extremely smooth, and now...eh, not so much. But in any event, I'm very glad that you and hopefully other managers are paying attention to the enthusiast community. I really hope that we can give you any info you need! -Julie
  13. This is a photo of the price board that I took last year at Parque de Atracciones. You have the option of buying a "calco" (unlimited use of all attractions except Viejo Caseron), an adult admission including two attractions, a kids admission including four attractions, or an "entrada paseo" ("walking pass") that is park admission only and not good for riding any of the rides. I don't see the point to getting the restricted admission since Parque has some of the best, cheesiest smaller attractions I've seen. I think the calco pass is worth every penny and more! -Julie
  14. I had to go with McDonalds. I prefer the burgers and chicken sandwiches at Burger King. Burger King also has frozen Cokes and mozzarella sticks. But McDonalds has good salads, the burgers are decent, they have better dessert choices, I like their chicken nuggets better, their fruit and yogurt parfaits are great and their biscuits are awesome. It was a tough call, but McDs edges out Burger King by just a hair. -Julie
  15. Well then, we should trade apartments. Nashville blows. You're welcome to it. -Julie
  16. I thought the same thing when I saw her in 2005! It's getting a little nippley in here. -Julie
  17. This may be the in between explanation that some of you are looking for. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day-Age_Theory That page is long and complicated, but basically it means that during creation, God wasn't using the 24 hour days that we know now. A "day" could have been 24 hours, or 100 years, or a million years. And God gradually created and tweaked everything during those time frames. Seeing as how some aspects of evolution are absolute facts, I think it's the best explanation I have found. A few years ago, my church did a class about creation and evolution, and what I found so funny was that, no matter how hard they tried, they could never provide hard facts for creation. They tried very hard to cite the Cambrian Explosion as being creation, yet it's been proven that there were single celled organisms and whatnot before the explosion. If the explosion was creation, why was there life before creation? And if creation was right as the single celled organisms appeared, how do you explain the explosion if it wasn't evolution? Both theories are unproveable, and will be debated until the end of time. And I personally don't think it's worth arguing about. Lets just all agree to disagree -Julie
  18. Awesome feature! I can't tell you how many captions I've had to edit down to fit in the alloted space. Should make for much better TRs from the "verbally enhanced" among us -Julie
  19. I've gotten "I'm not sure why you want to ride this because it's really meant for kids, but ok" quite a few times, especially on Dragon Wagons! They don't seem to generally care though, especially if you are just riding once. -Julie
  20. The only coasters that have really freaked me out to the point that I wouldn't ride them were the Deja Vus in Georgia and Chicago. Then I rode Sheikra and realized that the vertical drop on a coaster isn't anything close to the same sensation as the drop on a drop tower. So then I rode the one at Magic Mountain without hesitation and loved it. Now I've just gotta figure out how to get the other two Deja Vu credits! -Julie
  21. P.S. to the bride and groom...that photo looks awesome in black and white. Not that I downloaded it and played with the color or anything... -Julie
  22. Awww, what an awesome wedding! I love it! This photo is my favorite! That's one to hang on the wall, for sure! -Julie
