  1. Hey Chuck, seeing as how you seem to be the BGW expert, I have a few questions for you. 1. I'm going sometime around mid June. This is one of my most anticipated parks and I want to see and do everything! Is it possible to relax and see and do everything in one day around this time, or should I stay for two days? I know you can't foretell the future, but I would guess that you know what the crowds are generally like all season. 2. I'm taking my Mom and she can't walk too well, so I usually rent her a wheelchair or amigo. How wheelchair or amigo friendly is the park? I remember seeing a ton of stairs in someones TR. I know that I had more questions but for some reason I can't remember them right now. I'll ask others if I can think of them. Thanks in advance! P.S. I always love your BGW TR's!
  2. One of my friends and I got up at 2:00 am and were on the road by 3:00 am heading our from Saginaw, MI. We arrived to the park at about 9:00 am and headed straight to guest relations to get our ticket (We both have Cedar Fair Platinum Passes, but from Cedar Point). We waited about 45 minutes there. It seems they were having all kinds of problems with peoples passes not working, and some printout from hotels that it seemed every other person had. We finally got in the park at about 10:00 am and headed straight for Diamondback. HOLY WOW! As you all have seen now, the line was ginormous! When we finally got to the end of the line, it was wrapped all the way around and almost meet back up with the beginning of the turn styles. It was insane! We were told by an employee that we had approximately a 5 to 6 hour wait. We ended up only waiting 3 hours and 5 minutes. We rode in the very front seat the first time. I absolutely loved it! The airtime is awesome! It's not floater airtime like Goliath SFOG, but seemed to me to be more ejector airtime kind of like El Toro SFGadv. Normally I'm a front seat kind of guy. Besides Voyage and Raven at Holiday World, this may be the first coaster that I actually liked better in the back. Maybe it had something to do with my back seat ride being at night. It was pitch black and you couldn't see a thing, plus for some reason the energy of any park or ride at night just seems to be way better. it was AWESOME! Overall, I think Diamondback is perfect! It's a perfect addition to the park, and it has completely changed the whole back half of the park, in a good way though. I would put it somewhere in my top 10 steel. I looked for people that I may recognize from TPR. I only saw one lady wearing a TPR shirt, but never got a chance to say hi. No one else looked familiar to me. Bummer!
  3. Welcome! I enjoyed your photos. Definitely shots that you don't normally see, but I really like them. The black & white added something nice. Thanks for sharing!
  4. As mentioned above, driving on hilly roads makes me think of coasters. A huge one that has always captured my attention are the electric racks at dry cleaners that they hang clothes on that go all around the building. When I was a little kid my Mom used to work at a dry cleaners and I used to hang on the track and ride it around the building. It was awesome! Conveyor belts also make me think of coasters. Some drainage systems that run down hills also make me think of coasters, or alpine slides. Pretty much anything with tunnels as well. Especially trains. Some structures as well. This one isn't coaster related, but whenever I see huge antennas, or phone towers/media towers from a distance they always make me think of drop towers. I know there are more, but it's late and I'm tired.
  5. ^ You have CS3 and you don't even use it? DOH! haha. Get that thing goin'! I have a bootleg version of one of the older Creative Suites. I would give my left leg to get an updated and legit version of CS. Ok, I wouldn't really give my left leg, but you get the point. P.S. If you don't feel like using it, feel free to send it my way!
  6. I ordered both of them! Looking forward to their arrival.
  7. Very nice photos! Thanks for sharing. I'm heading over there soon, but seeing those photos just makes me want to get there even sooner!
  8. Another awesome update, Big Mike. I LOVE that photo of you with the flamingo hanging out like he was waiting for his picture!
  9. Alright, here we go... 1. Janice - Because from what I have gathered, it appears that Big Mike has a crush on her, and they look good together Also, they could then adopt me into the traveling TPR family! 2. Christiana - Because maybe she has a sister that Big Mike can hook me up with? 3. A tie between Renee & Beeja - Because if Christiana doesn't have a sister for me, maybe one of these two do!
  10. Big Mike, I loved the new updates! Lego's were my favorite when I was a kid, and I still love them, so it was awesome seeing your Legoland TR. $63, though... ouch! I would sdefinitely pay it though if I was near there and had the time to go. I love TBMRS so much that I started re-reading the whole thread again. I made it up to page 35 tonight, then I had to take a break. Remember the days of the Bikini Babes? Ahhh the memories, haha. Anyways, be sure to let me know when your plans to head to Michigan are set in stone, or even Ohio. I would be more than happy to join you on your travels.
  11. I've had a Cedar Point/Cedar Fair pass every year since 1998. The past few years I've had... - Cedar Fair Platinum - Six Flags So far this year... - Cedar Fair Platinum - (Contemplating) Six Flags
  12. WOW! Thanks a bunch for sharing these! This coaster looks amazing! It may just be me, but the trains look kinda tall. Almost like a semi riding on the track. The restraints are a bit odd as well. Not that any of this is a bad thing, though. Just different than what I'm used to seeing. Thanks again for sharing these!
  13. I like the little urinal that Elissa got! I've seen some crazy things come out of those machines.
  14. I love the Whizzer, too! I have a TON of Whizzer photos. I just looked through all of them and I unfortunately don't have a photo of the clock. Next time I am there, I will be sure to get a photo of it! P.S. I don't understand why these other guys are being jerks about it. I think this is a pretty reasonable request.
  15. I absolutely LOVE the new shirt, Big Mike! It's perfect! I'm super excited for the 2009 season of TBMRS to get started. I may not win the 2009 Reader Of The Year, but I'm going to at least be in the runnings! Have fun at WCB! Wish I could be there. Safe travels, Brian
  16. I feel the same exact way, Big Mike! My answer to the question is always "I'll stop counting them as a coaster credit when they stop calling them coasters!".
  17. Thanks for sharing! I love aquariums, and I have always wanted to visit this one. P.S. I also think your photos turned out pretty damn good. I know it's super hard for me to take good photos of aquariums, so I can appreciate how clear and non grainy they are.
  18. I got mine a few days ago. Now if I can just find someone that can get the time and money to go with me! Makes me wish that I was dishonest so that I could have cheated and registered one of my friends, too.
  19. I own all 10 of the Coaster Expedition DVD's, and both of the Roller Coasters In The RAW DVD's. I vote that you don't change a thing. I love how they are! They really, really, really make me want to join in on a TPR trip someday soon! I must admit though, I do watch the RAW DVD's more than I do the others.
  20. THIS! This drives me absolutely insane! I am pretty sure that 99% of the people that wear Ed Hardy clothing have NO IDEA that Ed Hardy is a legendary traditional tattoo artist, not to mention a legendary painter as well! I could rant for forever about this, so I'll end it here. (Edited To add the fact that I don't care if you wear Ed Hardy and you don't have any tattoo's, but you better be aware of who the hell he is and what you are wearing.) Now that I'm done venting, I have to say that you guys are some great parents! You have a very lucky kid, and it looks like he knows how lucky he is to have you two as his parents as well. Thanks for sharing your trip. I'll be looking forward to seeing the rest.
  21. I could be mistaking, but I think there are Pepsi machines at either Cedar Point or Kings Island that say Cedar Point or Kings Island on them and there is a coaster or two pictured that is obviously not from the park the machine is at.
  22. Hey Big Mike, This is is my 200th post. There is no other reason for this post than me thinking it would only be appropriate to dedicate my 200th post to The Big Mike Road Show, seeing as how The Big Mike Road Show received my 100th post as well! HOORAYYYYY! Thanks again for all the entertainment that you bring TPR, Big Mike! Brian (Big Mike's Biggest Fan) Raymond
  23. Thanks so much for this TR Big Mike! I haven't been to Disneyland since about 1986. This brings back so many memories! I really need to get back there.
  24. Haha, this is awesome! That kid is pretty damn good, and mickey isn't too bad either for having all that gear on.
  25. I remember filling out that survey about the songs. It took a long time to get through.
