  1. Howdy TPR! First of all, I apologize if this has been posted already. I searched but didn't see anything about it. If this has been posted, maybe someone could merge it with the other thread(s). I thought that I would share this with everyone seeing as how it's not in the Park Index yet. This Roller Coaster is being built at Kokomo's Family Fun Center! in Saginaw, Michigan. The coaster is called the Serpent. It's an S.D.C./Galaxi which has operated at Nobles Funland Amusement Park in Paducah, Kentucky as the Galaxi. It was then relocated to LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park in Middletown, Ohio where it operated as the the Serpent. Now it will hopefully soon be operating at Kokomo's as the Serpent. I go out of my way everyday on my way to work to check out the progress. I've stopped a few times and snapped a few photos. Today I was bored so I stopped in there to snap a few more photos (which I'll post) and ask a couple questions. I asked an employee when they expected it to be open, and the employee told me the same exact thing that I received in an ACE Regional News e-mail, which was that "they hope to have it running by the end of the summer." Exact dates, times, and costs are not yet determined. The rumor floating around Saginaw was that the reason it is taking so long to build the coaster is because the owner of Kokomo's was trying to build the coaster him self to save on cost's. Who knows if this is true though. I do know that it doesn't look like it will be running within the next week and a half at least, and that's being optimistic! As you can see in the photos, they have given the whole coaster a nice fresh, bright coat of paint, and they are also in the process of refurbishing all of the cars. So, here are some photos that I have taken of the construction. Hope you enjoy!
  2. Knott's Berry Farm Wacky Soap Box Racers Corkscrew (never rode though) Cedar Point Mill Race I loved this thing! Jungle Larry's Sky Slide Pirate Ride Berenstain Bears
  3. This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. I too share this fascination with Good 'Ole Hand Brakes. I was going to add a couple photo's that I recently took of Meteor's and Comet's Hand Brakes, but it looks like Rob beat me to it. I'm looking forward to seeing what else gets brought out of the closet. Thanks again for sharing.
  4. I'm finally home from work and had time to actually read through the TR. I really loved SDC, and this TR really makes me want to head back there! It's such a beautiful park. Did you love Powder Keg, Big Mike? I was really surprised at how good it was.
  5. Well Big Mike, I'm not too comfortable with my guess as it's only 8:00 in the morning and my eyes are still blurry, and being color blind doesn't help! I didn't want to have to scan through the TR so quick, but I have to leave for work and be gone for 9 hours, which gives 20 people way too much time to knock me out of the competition. So, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there are 10 Rubber Duckies! Gasp!
  6. It's a toss up between the double down tunnel on Voyage, or the under the parking lot tunnel of Hades for me.
  7. What an AMAZING update! Some of the photos and captions had me laughing out loud. I'm pretty sure my roommate thinks I'm nuts. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope that I can someday afford to take a TPR trip.
  8. Very nice TR. You took some really beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.
  9. A Mr. Rogers ride... how flippin amazing! I remember when I was a little kid how I always wished that I could shrink down and ride the trolley. Mainly because it went through those tunnels, haha. I plan on hitting up Idle Wild next summer. I can not wait!
  10. Then it wouldn't make much sense for you to purchase one, but for a family of 4 that visits, and it may be a once in a lifetime thing, it would definitely be worth it if you ask me. I really love these types of things at parks.
  11. Michigan? This is the best news ever! Just to warn you... they are still working on the Serpent at Kokomo's. I go out of my way EVERY day on my way to work to drive by and check out the progress. I'll keep an eye out for the Michigan plans set in stone. I'll be pretty pumped if I can make my debut on the Big Mike Road Show! If need be, I'll keep you updated on the Serpent. I'll have to see if I can get the days off of work. I plan on going to SFGAdv sometime in September too. Hopefully the dates don't coincide.
  12. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! PETA will do anything to stir crap up, and this is no exception.
  13. In no particular order.... - Everything at Cedar Point from Magnum in 1989 and on. - Kentucky Rumbler at Beech Bend. - Ravine Flyer II at Waldameer. - Batman: The Dark Knight @ SFGAm - Patriot at Worlds of Fun - Renegade at Valleyfair - Sponge Bob Square Pants Rock Bottom Plunge, & Avatar Airbender at Nickelodeon Universe - Son of Beast, & Italian Job: Stunt Track (Now Backlot Stunt Coaster) at Kings Island - Mystery Mine at Dollywood - Hydra the Revenge at Dorney Park - Voyage at Holiday World - Big Dipper, Mad Mouse, & Shivering Timbers at Michigan's Adventure - Grand Exposition Coaster at Silver Dollar City
  14. Awesome update! Those photos from the top of Ravine Flyer II's lift are incredible! The park looks sweet at night. When I was there, the park closed and it was still light out. What a bummer!
  15. Hopefully this hasn't been mentioned before. Sorry if it has. I'm not sure how long you guys are watching the web cam, but it changes positions about every minute. It's cycling through like 3 or 4 positions.
  16. Nice photos! I was just there last month. You definitely got some better pictures from the ferris wheel than I did. I agree with everything that you said about Ravine Flyer II. What an awesome coaster! I tried everything that I could to try and get them to let me take pictures on Ravine Flyer II, but it just wasn't happening. They did let me take photos on Comet though.
  17. Nice TR! Boulder Dash is one of my most sought after credits, so seeing pictures of it makes me even more excited to ride it. Hopefully next spring I'll be able to ride it.
  18. That could have a lot to do with it. Being Vegetarian or Vegan is no joke. I'm not saying this is why you are seeing spots, or blacking out, but I know it was the case for me. If you haven't already, I suggest that you do some research and take the right supplements. (Especially B-12 and Iron!) I was Vegetarian for about 12 years. I almost died from not eating right. Seriously almost died. Not just saying it to make this sound more dramatic. It pretty much shut my whole nervous system down. My whole body went numb, and I couldn't even go to the bathroom. I had to have a B-12 shot everyday for almost 2 years, and had to take an iron pill every day. To this day, I still have to take a B-12 pill everyday, and i have to have blood work done twice a year, and this is the case even though I eat chicken and turkey now. Long story short. I would black out mowing the lawn, or even walking, let alone riding roller coasters when I had the B-12/Iron deficiency. Do some research before it really affects you. Please.
  19. #1 - Matterhorn at Disneyland in 1983 #100 - Goliath at SFOG #200 Coming in a couple weeks. I have it planned out to be El Toro at SFGAdv. Hopefully it works out for me! Here's a pic of me and #100. Don't mind my stupid face. There were a TON of people staring and I felt like an idiot. I guess that's my nervous pose?
