I think the Excalibur Hotel is getting this same ridefilm for its Magic Motion Machines. They have a billboard up for it...Polar Express 4D.

I too remember Viper always having 4 trains...Red, Orange, Yellow, and that wierd Brownish Tan colored one. I also remember hearing they got an extra train from Shockwave. I was under the impression they just used that one for parts. Come to think of it Desperado also had 4 trains when it opened even though the ride can only handle three. It had blue, pink, yellow/gold, and the never used green.

^ Disneyland is getting their own special treatment for Sleeping Beauty Castle. I'm sure it will be pretty cool in its own, petite way.

Actually there is a new smoking law that went into effect for Clark County (the county that Las Vegas sits in). They are still having a hard time enforcing it. Basically you can only smoke on the casino floor and in bars that don't serve food. This means all those people who are walking through the shopping areas lighting up are breaking the law. Some places are better than others at enforcing it. The hotel I work at put up all the required signs, albeit really small ones, and took out all ashtrays but still people light up. THey even stand next to the signs smoking. So disgusting!

Any idea when the next conference call is going to be happening?

Not related to the fire, but that last picture gives a really good view of just how much land is in front of the park. Never realized just how much the developers have to work with!

Not really related to this but...take a look at the info on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. That looks like a fun attraction!

48" height requirement sounds like its stretching the term "family coaster", but that's just my opinion.

^ Never thought it about it that way. Do they ever run Goliath with a two person crew? They have that auxilary panel just like a few of the other coasters. Of course I don't think they do that with more than one train operation, but I'm just wondering if they still do that.

^ That's what I was thinking. The whole area behind the newly relocated Ranger Station is torn up. That said, I'm still not sure if the whole ride will sit there, it's not THAT big of a space and I remember seeing markers over by Bigfoot, so maybe it will travel above the walkways somewhat. Should be interesting to see what kind of layout its going to have.

Dude....my roommate is conviced Manhattan Express is the Final Destination roller coaster, you know life immitating art. It lost a tension rod a couple nights ago, they closed a portion of the strip and had a lift out in front of the hotel fixing it. Not that its the first time its happened, when it first opened, it was popping those every other week!

Anyone remember when the Circus Wheel was the Baile De Las Flores and was over in Baja Ridge? That ride has been at the park for a really long time! I can't understand SFMM's aversion to flat rides. If Circus Wheel goes that leaves us with what...Atom Smasher, Gearworks, Sierra Twist, Buccaneer, Swashbuckler and Scrambler. Now that I think about it, they haven't necessarily removed THAT many flats. Of the ones I can remember the original Circus Wheel, Reactor, Z-Force, and the Crazy Barrels are gone. Granted I would like to have Reactor and Z-Force back, but what are ya gonna do? SFMM likes to staff rides with the bare minimum amount of staff, what better way to accomplish that than with a couple of flats that only require one person to operate each!

^ I can't help but noticing how neatly charred that area looks. Is it possible that those areas were merely "control burned" during the larger fire in order to eat up possible fuel? That and fact that the tree in the one photo looks untouched seems to support that.

^ If you are ever in Vegas, we have a Pinball Museum where you can actually play all the games. Great cheap "off-Strip" entertainment!

Cedar Point is mine. I have yet to visit there, but have been dying to.

Great video Robb! I agree this ride seems a lot longer than I thought it would be. That's a lot of track packed into a space a little larger than an acre! Of course this ride will need some special attention, but I'm thinking the owners knew what they were getting into by requesting such a wild ride. They could have gone a "safer" route by requesting a milder ride, but nothing that I have seen with this ride indicates that. They wanted excitement!

I think I'm in the minority, but I kind of liked the idea of Knott's Great America. Have they started playing the national-god-bless-the-USA-because-its-red-white-and-blue-tribute-to-the-eagle assortment of opening and closing music? That's when we can really tell its a Cedar Fair park!

That't the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread. I don't get it. All these years and no problems and now these belts are creeping up everywhere.
