Sure thing. Thanks for readin. -
And now onto the final SFMM trip report I had planned for you guys… Hello ladies and gentlemen! Yup, this is the third SFMM TR in like a week! Still, I hope you like it. Well, what are we waiting for, lets start the TR! Eeek! We’re late! My 4-year-old niece had a bit of a throwing-up spell last night, so we were all super tired. To ensure we got a bit more rest, we decided to go to the park a bit later, after opening. My company for today. In the back is Alexa, my niece and in the middle is my sister, Javaneh. Alexa was shipped in from Oregon, so we thought we’d take her to SFMM. Ok, we arrived at the park. Holy shit it’s hard to get passed those stupid people that try to take your picture as you enter. They are getting more and more ferocious, each time I see them! They must be paid by the photo. We entered the park and headed for Log Jammer, a log flume. Weeeeeee! The ride was fun, with the exception that we had to worry about stepping in the 1 inch of water in our boat! 1 inch o’ water You know something is wrong when you get splashed by the water in your boat! Ok…onward. Next up was Goliath… Alexa used to live down here, in Santa Clarita, and has been to SFMM. However, she never ever has been on Goliath. Today was the first time we were able to convince her to get on it! I was excited! As a coaster enthusiast, you always love to see the next generation learn to like roller coasters! She said she wasn’t nervous but you can tell…I mean, look at how she’s holding the restraint! By the metal bar! Well, there’s no better way to top off a nice ride on Goliath, than with a ride on Buccaneer, the swinging ship. I don’t know why they’re so excited…I mean, swinging ships provide a special kind of airtime…you know…the kind that only affects guys, if you know what I mean. If your gonna do Goliath, you have to do Colossus. Colossus was one of the longer waits of our day. One of the downsides of going during the off-season…sure, its empty, but the coasters only operate a one-train operation! Grrrr! This shot’s kinda cool. You get all of Colossus’s layout AND Goliath’s. …and if your gonna do Colossus, you have to do Scream! Welcome to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Parking: -Cars: $10 -Motorcycles: $8 -RV’s and Busses: $17 -B&M’s: $16,000,000 .…gotta love that! After Scream, Alexa said she was starting to feel hungry, but Colossus Cookery was closed. I reluctantly decided to go for the Waterfront eating area. On the way, we decided to ride Goldrusher first. After all…it isn’t an Arrowfanman update without an Arrow! Gum isn’t as bad as it could be. …but then again, it’s the offseason. Yaaaaaaay! Alexa doesn’t seem entirely impressed. What a shame…I love Goldrusher! With the exception of some stupid teenagers who thought they were funny to scream like they were really afraid, Goldrusher was a really fun ride. You know, when you are riding a family ride, and there is nobody else on the train but children, who are you trying to impress when you scream like that? Whatever…builds self esteem/shoves them farther up their own asses. Anyway, we finally got our food at the waterfront. It was soooo horrible! SFMM has really been improving their food, but this was just, just….horrible! I cant believe we spent 25 bucks for the 3 of us! I didn’t even finish it! The food was sooo tasteless, and when you finally tasted something, it wasn’t good! Either the food is sour, or she is sick of me taking pictures of her! For my sake, I’ll go with the first option! Anyway, after eating that junk, it was time to work it off, so we marched off, up the hill. The girls thought we were going to ride Ninja. Little did they know, I only went up to take Tatsu construction pictures! Buuuut, I finally said ok, and we went to ride Ninja…Waited 4 trainloads with a one-train-operation, just so we could get Alexa the front seat on her favorite ride. Yup…that’s one mighty-fine lift hill. Weeeeeee! Oh, do you see Jetstream in that pic? They finally removed the sign that said “Do not load boats passed this point”. Perhaps they got sick of guests asking why they are not following their own instructions. Speaking of Jetstream, that’s what we rode next… Our boat was much better (drier) than the Log Jammer boat…ironically, I got more wet on this ride! After Jetstream, we decided to start heading out…we did everything that Alexa would enjoy, or that was worth it. However, we did convince Alexa to ride Batman… That button is AWFULLY close to where I am standing. There’s something about a juicy red button that just makes you want to push it! Lift shot! Drop shot! This is almost a cool picture! After Batman, we decided to ride the Atom Smasher…our reason?: It was working. Good fun riding Mr. A. Tom Smasher. There was no line, so she let everybody ride again, so as they wanted too. I knew how to unlock myself, but my sister didn’t, and before you know it, they were stuck riding it again! Oh yea…we ran into TJ’s sister…yup… I am gonna get killed for putting this up. She’s the one in the hat. Ok…NOW we were ready to leave…. ….but only after another ride on Goliath, as Alexa finally decided that she liked it! This is the line, for the second most popular ride in the park, during winter break, at 3:30 PM! I think Goliath is now Alexa’s favorite roller coaster. Now we were ready to leave!. . . . ….but only after a ride on Sierra Twist! Why? … …for the same reason we rode Atom Smasher…lol. I gotta fart! Uh oh…that was more than a fart! Nothing like good bathroom humor! Ok…NOW we are done, for good! I hope you enjoyed my photo TR! I had some really good responses to the last two, so I think this is a nice conclusion to the SFMM TRs. But, I am bound to go to other parks in the next 3 months, so I will be sure to post other TRs as I make them. Thanks for readin, -Jahan (aka, Hypotenuse)

Scream is cheap, dumb, ugly, and a blantant attempt to top CP for a few months---but, it still offers one of the best rides at SFMM. I ride that bugs me, is Flashback, which is also cheap, dumb, ugly, and an even worse attempt at leeching off a SBNO ride to top CP, and it still offerers a HORRIBLE ride!

Mousetimes, the website that lets me mooch off their gallery to host my SFMM updates, just did a DLR update--Monsters is now doing previews, as the area has opened up. You can see it HERE! Its like Space Mountain--feels kinda like the old one, but its nice to finally have something in that space again. Eh...in my eyes, this only begins to fill the gap. I too think that DL needs another E-ticket, but I would argue if the park is underperforming...In fact, I believe that it's the parks ability to carry its own, which makes Disney say "we dont need a new e-ticket". I mean, in recent years, DL park has seen quite a turn-around in attendance. Especially now, around the 50th, the park is showing that it can bring in locals simply off of marketing their past memories! DCA is the park in question, if you ask me. No, Monsters Inc. isn't enough to bring me to the park. But then again, I wont go to the park as it is, since my 56 bucks will only last me 4 hours until I have to start reriding stuff! Tower of Terror has proven that you cant just build one new major attraction and expect to draw people in. Hell...if TOT was a copy of "good tower", I still think the park would be in the same situation. Im sorry--I am having trouble explaining myself. Basically, I think DCA simply needs stuff to do. I mean, Robb, out of all honesty--- on your last DLR trip, you ran into DL, hit the big things, ran into DCA, hit those big things, and then you were out of there. But most of us spend a full day at these parks. I need to know that there is a full day of stuff to do before I put down my 56 bucks. So no, Monsters isn't gonna draw me to the park by itself. But it contributes to making the park Jahan's-money-worthy. Two more of these C tickets, some well integrated flats, throw in a pinch of e-ticket, and perhaps a new night-time stage show, and I will be willing to spend a day at DCA. Just my thoughts.

Pick N Mix Video #1 Contest Top 20!
arrowfanman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes we were, with the exception of: The MPAA, Universal, WMM, Revolution, and RC2 Title were all photos or graphics (some of them had an 'ease in' function.) The voiceovers I have confired with Robb to be a legal sound FX addition. -
The snow is just foamy soap, and really is quite a dissapointement--however, since when has anything in Disneyland been real? They're trying to create the illusion of falling snow, and this material pulls off the effect acceptibly. Nowmachines dont quite pull off that effect. But I was dissapointed--I was expecting real snow! Anyway, great TR! I like how you just broke all these age-stereotypes! Go you! -Jahan

Best Theme Park Show You Have Seen.

-Fantasmic (DL) -Remember...Dreams Come True (fireworks, DL) -That Dr. Cleaver's show mentioned above! When it said "mature audiences only", we thought they meant because it would be grusome. It was completely different...lol. (KBF) -
Hello ladies and gentlemen! I went to SFMM again today (I know! Once a week!) Since I was in a small group of 4 (more than usual), I thought I would document this trip as well. So without further adieu, my trip report. Today started off, awkwardly enough, with TJ showing up on time! I was amazed! We headed to the Mountain, took care of some Tastu construction pics, and then met up with Julian and Paul, two friends of ours. A friend we met on the way in. . . .I bet that’s a criminal doing community service hours in that suit. Paul and Julian went for X when we came in, but it was still testing, so they met back up with us, and we headed back to Dejavu. But first, we stopped for some bumper cars. A pretty cool picture…you can hang yourself with those seatbelts! …oh, that’s Julian. The we stopped for some Goldrusher…after all, it isn’t an arrowfanman update without some Arrow’s… The gum isn’t as bad as it used to be! Yay! TJ tends to get a little excited in the final helix. Long story short, after all of these distractions, we finally made it to Dejavu! I have never seen this shot before! We rode Dejavu twice, as there was no line…the ride is loads of fun, and really has no side to side headbanging…however, your head does get a bit shaken. You never hit the OSTRs, but you feel like your brain was loose, and shaking around your head. After Deja, Paul and I went to ride Jetstream, as TJ and Julian went to do Dive Devil, the skycoaster…I WILL NOT do the sky coaster. And don’t bug me about it, because I hear enough of it from my friends! My mind knows its perfectly safe, but my body just wont allow me to do it. Paul on Jetstream…I like this shot. TJ and Julian on Dive Devil…I guess that looks like fun. Am I starting to regret not doing it? Nope! All of a sudden, I feel content with my choice to stay on the ground. Man…they look very furious. Maybe I’ll do it next time…….yea right! After they finally finished up with Dive Devil, we decided to ride Riddler’s, which had a station-long wait. Probably had to wait 7 trains. Riddler’s is very fun for a stand up, but I don’t really care for stand ups to begin with! This is the best shot of the trip! I took it when upside down in the Riddler’s loop, and if you look in the corner, you can see the Batman train in the loop at the same time…gotta love that! Speaking of Batman, after Riddler’s, we went for Batman. But not after a good old ride on the Scrambler, a flat ride… I normally don’t feel sick on these rides, but I was focusing on the 1” screen on my camera when riding, and started to feel sick. Funny part, is in the process of this picture, I swear to God that the G Forces pulled some saliva out of my mouth and threw it God knows where…not that its anything to brag about. After the Scrambler, we finally rode Batman… I have to say….both Batman and Riddler’s were exceptionally fun today, so I had to check Scream too, to see if it was a B&M thing. It was…Scream even felt better than it normally does! So all the B&M’s are operating in great conditions right now! After Scream, it was time for some lunch. I had a single deal again… “Eat me!!!” “Its like I’m hungry, but I’m not hungry” What a better way to let your food digest, than to wait in a 15 minute line for Goliath while the other guys are out, waiting for X. …so that’s what we did. How many op’s does it take to operate Goliath!?! Hey!…I can see my house from here! And as you all know, Goliath’s helix pulls a sustained 4.5 vertical G’s for quite some time, so we had to do the G Force pressure faces… …I made them smaller, so they would be less scary. After Goliath, we still had some time to kill, so we chilled around the park… “Don’t go Mr. Six! Please don’t go! Golly we’ll miss you!” “Is that smell you or me?” Of course (taken there was no line, whatsoever), we had to ride Viper again. Lift shot! Joygasm!…yea, this shot isn’t as cool as the one from the other day. We finished the day off with a nice ride on the swinging ship, the Buccaneer… And that concluded a very nice, and very cold day at SFMM Sorry if the update seemed kinda thrown together…its 1 in the morning, and besides…this trip report is more picture oriented than word oriented…its to help feed all you folks with a REAL offseason! (Off season is typically my onseason, as I can get WAY more done!) -Jahan (not Ja-Rule!)

Lodging for Disneyland Resort Trip

You should check the Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels page... http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/hotels/gnh/landing?name=GoodNeighborHotelsLandingPage This helped us. It is a list of hotels recognized by the Disneyland Resort. It says... You can choose between Suites, Superior, Moderate, or Economy hotels. So if you want a cheaper place, click on the Moderate or Economy links, and browse some of the hotels they have to offer. -
The "Say Something Random" Thread

Random Fact: My school spent $9,000 of Scantron sheets alone last year. -
Hello one and all! Recently in the Tatsu construction thread, it was implied that I go to SFMM to take construction pictures of Tatsu! Not true! I go to SFMM because I enjoy it…and because I can find a ride!…I have loads of fun there! I promise you, if I didn’t enjoy going there, I wouldn’t! I have not obligations to anyone…I work for myself, yo! Anyway, as physical proof of this, I have decided to post a photo trip report of my time there. See what its like to be Jahan. See what its like to take construction pictures…for no-one. So, without further adieu, my trip report…(man, I haven’t done one of these in a while!)… Our day starts Well, we decided to go really early today. I like the atmosphere at SFMM, before people show up, and before the day gets too hot. TJ First things first…we picked up TJ. TJ is a really good friend of mine (and fellow coaster enthusiast too). He is usually the person who accompanies me on these trips. Ok, lets go to the park now. Its like a gaint Jahan barbecue. OK, OK! So a little part of this trip is to get Tatsu construction pictures! And ok, I go early to aid in that process! But I am still there to have fun. My day at SFMM starts out by being dropped off next to X’s raven turn, at the bus stop. We walk down, and take pictures of the stuff in X’s bus pen. We then walk to the parking lot (or hitch a ride on the tram, if lucky). We walk across that giant lot to the track pieces by Feedmill Road. As the caption says, the sun turns the parking lot into a giant barbecue. One of the plusses of going early, is it isn’t quite as hot as it is in the afternoon. Ok…after taking the pictures, we saw a tram leave the tram maintenance bay, so we asked to bum a ride, and got full service, back to the main gate! Toys for Tots On the way, the tram picked up some more passengers! Every passenger had a toy! It confused me and TJ, but then again, I wouldn’t mind building Legos or playing Monopoly in SFMM, so we didn’t raise a concern. When we were dropped off, we realized why…Toys for Tots is currently collecting at SFMM. Are we there yet? Ok, we finally got in line to enter the park. Didn’t take to long, and then we were in. I start by taking pictures of the front plaza and continue to snap over by the Orient Express. Since we can no longer go to Dejavu (our usual first coaster) by way of the Roarin’ Rapids midway (closed for construction), we head back towards Goliath, but decide to head right for Ninja, to finish the construction pictures…get them out of the way. I couldn’t quite make it up the hill to Ninja! Man that hill sucks! I really miss going to Samurai Summit by way of Rapids Camp Crossing! First things first (how many times have I said that?)—a little water after hiking up the hill. One of the good, refrigerated drinking fountains. ...hehehe...I leave my mark. Ok…now that we are done drinking, we head to Ninja. There were two Ninja Ops standing in front of the pathway, that told us “Ninja is currently closed!” “…now wait a minute here! Superman is closed here too! And of course Laugin’ Dragon Pizza is accumulating spider webs. So the only thing open on this damned hill are the bathrooms?! Why couldn’t you stand at the bottom of the hill, so we didn’t have to walk up?” Now now…that’s what I was thinking. But I didn’t say it. I simply asked if I can go up to take some pictures and they said “Ok, but your not supposed too” as if he was doing me a favor. So I headed up the mountain to take some pictures…and I did. TJ fears the camera. I started snapping pictures of the Tatsu construction site, and low and behold, they began to install another lift piece, so I, like every other “updater” stood where I was and took pictures of it. Before you know it, we were greeted by Robb and Elissa, who were alive and well, and appeared to be unphased by the climb they just made up the hill…that’s how you tell a SFMM local out of a croud of tourists. R&E…gotta love the action pose. Anyway, we hung around and talked for a bit, swapped a few short stories, and they were off to pack for Asia. We went with them, but didn’t fit in their suitcase, so we came back. We snapped a few more pictures of the lift, talked a bit with the Ninja op-crew (the lead was a good friend of mine), and before you know it Dan from RCPro came up the mountain with his posse, yo. We talked with him a bit, when all of a sudden, Ninja opened, and we all rushed to get on. Dan is a couple cars up…lucky bastard. (Were in a back seat….grrr.) We rode Ninja, which is one of the greatest rides at the park, for sure. After Ninja, we realized that it was 12:20, so we decided to eat lunch. Where did we eat? Our usual turf…Colossus Cookery! We only eat there because we want to get a good laugh out of the restaurant’s slogan “Eat Out Loud!” I mean…COME ON! It should be “Loudly!” …sheesh! . My meal SFMM food has really improved over the last 6 months. They properly cooking everything and so I found lunch to be pretty good. The trick is to close your eyes when you eat. Anyway, after lunch, some certain person, who will not be named, unfortunately violated a certain rule, which will not be mentioned, of a certain roller coaster club, whose name escapes me at the moment! After that, we decided to ride Goliath. Goliath…I have never seen it from this angle before. Unfortunately, Goliath broke down…but that’s ok, I forgive it. Hey! Back off! Leave my baby alone! There is nothing “bad” about the inaccurately dubbed “bad Goliath”! If you choose to slander my baby, I will accept no lower than “acceptable Goliath” as a justifiable name. It was ok that it broke down, as we needed to leave the park…I had family business to take care of. But first, a ride on Viper! I love this picture! Well, we were running a bit late after our ride, so we rushed out of the park. And that concludes a rather short, but regardless, fun and enjoyable day at SFMM Taadaa! By the way…I just wanted to share with you guys, an awesome ornament I received last year!: The ferris wheel and merry go round turn in circles, and the roller coaster goes “up a lift, and around the track.” I love it! Anyway, adios for now… -Jahan “Im sick of typing” Makanvand.

Sorry to bring this back up, but I was just reading an update... ...The trains are supposively getting their audio systems re-installed, individually, when they go down for refurb. For instance, the yellow train just came out of refurbishment, and now has working audio--the green train just went down for refurbishment, and will be recieving a working audio system. There ya go.

^SFMM is a park that irritably doesn't listen to anything but "How to be Xtreme!!!!! self help tapes." What you heard about a refurb is probably 1) wishful thinking. 2) logical thinking.---which is why SFMM wont do it. -

Its really good at helping give an close idea to what a coaster's layout is like, where overhead shots typically lack that third dimension! I cant wait to start crapping out recreations in No Limits with this added info! Thanks for the link!
