  1. Along with all your other projects on hold...
  2. Yea but all of that is based on theory. We don't exactly know how black holes work and so what if all our theories are wrong?
  3. Don't you mean "Years of a Million Dreams"... Neat idea but nothing beats being a cast member.
  4. That doesn't seem right, how would they close in the event of a power outage? Unless there is a valve electronically closed to keep the air in the cylinders. Once the power is cut then the air is released. It just seems too complicated.
  5. Rare earth mag brakes are permanent. Some raise and lower when not in use but they are always "on". LIMs don't work once power is shut off. Coasters usually have a fail safe system to stop the train. S:TE at SFMM has rare earth mags behind the station in case the brakes fail.
  6. But they can still valley on a cobra roll on the rare case that the train has enough sped to get into the cobra roll but not out.
  7. He won't. But I may and he has offered his resources to me. Though I'm not sure if I'm able to do it. Anyways, the only one I've found locally is the Saw maze posted earlier on the boards. I may go after I hear reviews.
  8. Ask Jeff Johnson. I'm sure he counts each seat in each car as a credit.
  9. You just proved why SFA isn't doing well. If employees and guests that go to the park often are the only one's that notice a difference then there isn't much changing. I don't think the park can depend on these people. I wish Knott's Berry Farm would go under, but that's just a wish.
  10. I like the idea of the hard drive since you can use it for external storage. The flash based iPods cannot be used for data storage. I wish the iPhone came more storage. I would use it as a phone and iPod and thus want the bigger capacity. Though if the Simplify Media app works well then maybe I can stick with that.
  11. The only thing I question is the design experience of the firm. I know that the owner has a degree in engineering and has experience in the amusement industry, with some experience from being a mechanic. I'm sure they can design this concept but will it catch on? Yes, if successful. It sure would benefit their chances if they had some experience in building normal woodies. If a company like GCI were to design and build this I would expect it to be good...they have experience with woodies. But GordonRides does not have experience with anything, from what I can tell.. The site seems mostly conceptual and until I see progress I can't help but think of this inverted woodie as a pipe dream.
  12. I like the smell of my farts.
  13. I have a weird fantasy of Wes doing a giraffe and cannot vote him off. I voted mmousefan in hopes that Wes will continue on to one day fulfill my dream.
  14. How is an amusement park any different than a sporting event? The more you pay the better experience you will have. I don't see you complaining about people with box seats at a baseball game. You get what you pay for. The park sets a base rate to get into the park and ride the attractions...if you want to get on faster you have to pay additional fees. The parks have marketed the Fastpass and equivalent systems so that only a minority of guests will use them. I don't see how such a small amount of people can greatly affect your wait time. Not to mention some queue systems allow you to wait in line virtually, so it's technically not cutting. I fully support the Fastpass systems.
  15. Not necessarily, you would be surprised at the amount of accidents that don't get media attention. Yes, all it takes is one jerk and the situation is blown out of proportion but if the park's guest relations does a damn good job then you normally won't hear about it. Also, if they don't have to call emergency medical crews to the scene then there is less attention drawn to an accident. DOSH or OSHA forms and reports are a must I assume, but they don't need to be public. I don't know if it happened or not, but if it did then the SFMM management did a great job recovering. That's a great step in the right direction.
  16. Disney had minor injuries that instigated legal action. While the fix for the problem would have been very easy, Disney had to make sure all the brakes worked properly and had to re-calibrate the ride. There was a lot involved in that downtime. Anyways, I was at the park this weekend and enjoyed my ride on X. Though the park was quite unpleasant due to the heat, so once we got all the coasters done we left. Took us a good 3 hours to do so.
  17. He is probably getting paid for doing a chore. It's not an actual business that he works for.
  18. I'm sure he has many friends that are girls, but he is gay.
  19. It's just easier to say that. Also, you can get into a legal situation if an employee says what's wrong and estimates how long it will be down...if they are wrong and that guest is a jerk then the situation could get out of hand. At California Screamin I usually don't say what's going on unless I know what happened. I like to assure guests that nothing unsafe happened, that we are working on it, but because I'm not a mechanic I can not estimate how long we will be down. It helps the guest understand the situation.
  20. 1/2 CPVC Pipe...Schedule 80 I think. It's hard to come by in some places though.
  21. It he your slave or something? Someone sure is demanding...
  22. I don't know where Blockbuster got this but in-store they have The Dark Knight release set to December 9th.
  23. Yea but I'm sure that's close to minimum wage or less here in the states after the Canadian gov't takes taxes. Canada has taxes up the butt.
