Maybe you are and all those things really DID happen!

Real I think up until now there were just6 errors in communication. I agree that the best way to go about living is to "love" people. I call it respect, and hence it does bear certain differences in the way we go about it, but in essence I think we share that being nice is generally the best bet. On condemning I think it's very hard to discern on religious topics. There's no way to tell somebody they are wrong about their beliefs without it coming across as hostile, and thus I personally think that telling somebody they are wrong about their believes is in essence the same as condemning them, to an extent. But I think your statement about misunderstanding, on the internet and other, applies to all religions. It happens whenever people have differing views, yet have little respect for the views of others.

Because then you completely dilute your own beliefs by watering down what you believe with what others believe. No. Just because you accept what others believe does not mean you incorporate them into your own. You may still disagree with their beliefs, but you can accept them as just as valid. First, I don't know how you got the authority to say that I've never tried something, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't. How are you practicing your beliefs if you accept it? Well, just because you accept it doesn't mean you do it, right? Accepting is not the same as doing. It doesn't make you a hypocrite if you tell them it's okay but disagree with it. It's okay by their beliefs but not yours. Nobody has any right to tell somebody if they are right or wrong. You have your own beliefs, they are just as valid as anybody else's. Thus, saying it's okay is more of a decree of passiveness towards their actions, it's not so much stating that you think it's good. The only time it's okay for you to tell somebody else they are wrong is when their actions or beliefs affects somebody in an adverse way. If they aren't affecting you or anybody else, why should you care? That's just zealousness and it will come across offensive and could lead to even more argumentation, and from there it's a domino effect as you begin to "condemn" increasingly often. I don't understand how there is difference between telling somebody they're wrong and condemning them. Unless by condemning you mean sentencing to hell, then yeah there's a difference because you could never hope to have that power. However, if by condemning you means telling somebody they're going to hell.... Then that's pretty hypocritical, in my opinion. We kind of agree on this. To me, the action involved in faith is simply living by your faith. Tests will come along the way, yes. However, actually having faith does not take effort. Practicing faith, yes; having it, no.

Well, the bolded is where I want to look. So, if someone isnt educated on a subject, or their world views (which shape alot of what we know, but is very vague) have skewed them from the truth, then how is that a valid statement? It's valid because I was speaking on faith and not world views. In particular, the way one goes about having faith. If you don't know about something, you can't possibly have made a decision about it, but you make your own judgments as you go along. Like right now the kid is Christian, he's going along with whatever the people in his congregation are telling him is right/wrong, but what if along the road he is introduced to something that makes way more sense to him? IE- fits his personal ideas more. Does that mean that his current beliefs should inhibit him from seeking out a more satisfactory belief system? No. You find out something, you judge, you adapt. You still have faith in what you believe, yet you are practicing that faith differently. See, I call that interest, not faith. If you just "peer in" you can;t possibly know if you have faith or not. You do have to "walk across the room" and get into it to really make a decision. However, faith itself does not require work. It's an emotion. It's either true, or false, there's no "in between." You don't make yourself love somebody, you just do. Just like you don't have to make yourself believe, you just do. Either your metaphor was poorly constructed, or we just COMPLETELY disagree, but the way you made it out comes across more as blindly committing to an idea rather than believing in it. Why cant more Christians understand this? The only flaw I see is you accept the person, not the sin. If their beliefs include sin, then you cant accept that. But you can accept the person because no matter what anyone says, they are two seperate entities. I have to say I'm with Laura on this. You can't really accept the person without also accepting their beliefs. Anything else is superficial and hence pointless. Why would you say you accept somebody if you were not also okay with their lifestyle. That's diluting to the strength of your own faith that you would willingly put on a facade of acceptance when in reality you are just tolerating.

Actually it's completely logical that life started randomly. With the reaction rates and multitude of chemical reactions on earth, it was only a matter of time until they bound in a way which created a gradient. Living lifeforms are really nothing but systems of gradients, almost all functions deal with gradients, so when the first one way created it begs to stand that it all went uphill from there. Gradient> gradient control> cell> colonies> multicellular life forms> high evolved forms. Yes it took a VERY long time, and could have just as easily NOT happened, but it is still very very logical.

If we did, there wouldn't be anything random about it. The only reason nobody else does it is because they know we have more and are better at it. The only reason we don't is because we know that. -
You should read Dante's Divine Comedy. A lot of what people today say about heaven/hell/purgatory comes from his writings. They aren't religious texts, but it shows you how people will just pick up and adopt something that works for them. In his breakdown of hell, atheists and unbaptized people do go to hell, but they stay in Limbo: there isn't any punishment in Limbo other than the having to spend an eternity secluded from God's light. The only way one truly goes to Hell is if they're already Christian and then sin or live amorally. Of course there varying ideas and interpretations throughout the varying branches of Christianity, and even personal variances, about what and how Heaven and Hell (and purgatory if you believe in it) are defined. What you saw on whatever website you saw may or may not be correct. You could form your own ideas on the subject and it would be just as valid as any other interpretation you may see. You're dealing with faith, and faith is very personal and can never be uniformly defined for large groups, so if what you're seeing or being told isn't making complete sense to you(such as how you don't see why baptism is necessary) than you should form your own ideas and believe in them. If you allow your faith to be defined by others you aren't being true to yourself and your faith is superficial, and therefor, pointless. That being said, I think most people would call me Agnostic, but I'm really not. I don't deny nor accept the existence of a god. If I see something in ANY religion that makes sense to me, I'll live by it. I don't think any one religion does or will ever be 100% correct on morals, so the best way I see is to pick up what I can from each, and fill in the blanks with my own ideas or logic.

Although, I think the "Letter From Cedar Fair" thread was amazing. I got a good many chuckles from it.

Tom Sawyer's Island
BiCoastal Kid replied to Ryan King's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Or they could get new rafts with increased capacity. Now THERE'S an idea.... No bridge, would interfere with the boat routes. No tunnel, would almost REQUIRE shutting down a large portion of the Splash/Pirates area AND draining out the lake/river/whatever. But really, I think if done right it could be great. I mean, you figure it would go along with the pirate aspect of the New Orleans section, they could work in "rugged" parts to incorporate the Adventure part of Big Thunder/Indiana Jones, and then add some water guns and you've got Splash in there too. On a PIRATE themed island, with some tunnels and maybe a *den*, it could really be a good binder for the surrounding areas. -
I'm just gonna call him. ALly, short for his last name. Awwwww, Ally the Dragon.

^You're also a GAP member.... there's a big difference. ;-P Also.... What exactly did this have to do with this post? I take it you're having a hissy fit and roasting marshmallows on your spiked tail as a comfort snack. Also, bad pun, but do dragons get heart burn? Not acid refluc, but I would think all of the glycerin would eventually get to you. Also, when you laugh at us, do you flame? Or do you just flame humanly? because this entire thread is pretty ghey.... Can dragons be ghey? If so, do they use scented flames and designer scales? Is there such a thing as designer scales, or do you go to dragon pride events and be proud of who you are? Or are those just called cons? Or are they just called "get the heck over yourself and realize that this is TPR and we will all find it funny but not hold it against you, unless like now, you get all hissy and give us a reason to"?

Tallest Ferris Wheel for Beijing 2008
BiCoastal Kid replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, it's also a 300 foot radius circle spinning around, supported by those tiny wires/poles. You don't want to create too much force on it, since with that size it'd be very easy for something to go wrong if it went too fast. -
I need help with NL.
BiCoastal Kid replied to jappi's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^They're in the tool bar. Click on which one you want and it will allow you to add supports along the track. There are various types, so if you're using those try to be realistic about it. It really would be worth your time to learn how to make your own supports though. Also, for any other sim stuff, press H for help. -

Dear AP Biology, I hate you and all your stupid cellular bullshit. I do not care to know the difference between three types of fermentation: they all do the same damned thing, anyway.

YES, I love that video! So funny. Also, almost anything directed by Chris Cunningham. Like this:

Any of the Timesplitters series is great on PS2, from what I know, and you could always get SOCOM and run around with your scope on.
