  1. That would assume SFMM will keep all the trains running at Scream. I've been there numerous times where the line is long because of 1 train operation.
  2. Would SFMM be able to confirm if it's a lift chain issue? Doubtful.
  3. What makes you think Colossus will be cycling?
  4. It's been widely reported that the government crackdown on corruption has scared all the Chinese high rollers away. Revenue was down almost 40% for March, the 11th straight month of declines. Still larger than Vegas and a HUGE number, but certainly makes you wonder what level is sustainable for them.
  5. My legs always come close to over the divider too just because of how violent X is. I don't think it's unsafe.
  6. Macau gaming renvue has been on the decline too. China cracked down on the corruption behind the people who recruit the whales. That combined with the fact gambling is all over the place now...
  7. Vegas has been on the decline in terms of gaming revenue for awhile. Indian casinos & Macao have taken lots of their business. This project would just be another dagger.
  8. Did South Korea take their land from Indians too? I like this concept, just not sure the Mohegan tribe are the right partners. I wouldn't be surprised if another gaming company swoops in to get the gaming license and ultimately end up partnering with Incheon.
  9. ^It's not open yet? Probably the biggest news is that the station for Flight of the Hippogriph is built. If that counts as big news?
  10. ^If SFMM were to execute it as well as USH has, I would be THRILLED. Twisted Colossus+real life Springfield would be awesome!!! They failed miserably with Thomas the Tank engine, but have kept the new DC area looking decent---so I would be skeptical, but still excited to see Springfield brought to life. I also never said the Simpsons was over the hill. Most everyone would agree that the show has gone past its prime of the earlier seasons (ending around season 10 depending on who you ask), but I actually still enjoy the show. In fact, I personally think the movie reinvigorated the writers and the quality has gotten better since the movie came out.
  11. We know where Adam will be spending all his time...
  12. ^I believe that Grona Land will balance the load but does NOT have the additional counterweights SFMM added to reduce flipping. IIRC, when TPR visited they did some sort of challenge that increased the amount of flipping.
  13. Installing them is one thing. Running power to them and doing all the pre-testing stuff to them is another. I know everyone wants to be optimistic, but realistically there is still quite a bit left to do before test cycling will start.
  14. Is it bad that I just assumed since it is in Kentucky and used to be called Guntown that guns were somehow involved? I'm digging the promo stuff. Hope it all works out.
  15. Roller Coasters are not just plug-and-play. I'm guessing they are still 2-3 weeks away from cycling, since they will now start installing the electrical and safety systems.
  16. I hope Alan and Co. get their hands on Apocalypse at some point in the future That seems unlikely. Nothing is impossible, but I would imagine that GCI would want to bid on the work themselves.
  17. It's obvious it's bogus. The real question is how long it will be before they are charged with fraud.
  18. ^Indeed. The ride system has to always be talking to the show controller, which in turn is talking to a video server, projector, lighting controller, audio cues, physical FX controllers...and it has to do so repeatedly over and over.
  19. Given the nature of the ride, I'm not surprised. Getting what is essentially a video game to play nice with a ride system can't be easy.
  20. It raced occasionally during my time working there from 2001-2003. It was during that time when the trains started to be salvaged for parts.
  21. I'm very curious to see how Iron Reef comes out. If it's a dud, they'll have to rethink who they partner with on dark ride design...
  22. You're saying Uni is going to spend $10-$20 million on a 16 year old ride? Do you know how wear on wood vs. wear on steel works? Do you know or understand what fatigue is? You don't re-track a steel coaster. If there is fatigue, they simply weld...
  23. There's a lot of variables involved. A lift chain is definitely not something you expect to give out before it needs to be replaced, but on the flip side...If you also know that there is a huge lead time for a replacement, you have to make a tough decision: pay more upfront for something you might not need, or pay even more and have to wait a long time when you do end up needing it.
