^^The Mets actually had a better record over the last 10 games if you want to talk about being hot at the right time. No one ever wants to lose, but Dave Roberts was definitely managing that game with the post season in mind instead of the W that series. The Giants beat up on Maeda (who was given an extra start to qualify for an extra $1.5 million bonus), but only 2ER were credited to Hill and Kershaw, who were pulled with low pitch counts to rest for the playoffs...not "knocked out." The only person in the bullpen that the Giants hit who will make the postseason roster was Joe Blanton, the rest were clearly thrown out there to see what they got (and outside of McCarthy, shut the Giants down) for a potential post season spot. Beat the Mets and win the division series, then you can see the Giants are hot vs. playing a team that can't hit lefties and already qualified for the playoffs.

I wouldn't call the Dodgers inability to hit lefties and starters/bullpen in cruise control the Giants getting hot at the right time. If that's your definition of hot the Mets are just as hot coming into the wild card playoff game.

California Great America (CGA) Discussion Thread

I hope that is true, but I find that very hard to believe. It wasn't a maze...it was a VR experience. It would be quite the undertaking to re-shoot it, post production, re-programming the FX to match, etc. It ain't happening this year. -
Don't think RMC needs to expand their product line anymore right now. It's a possibility for when they aren't booked solid, but it sure doesn't seem like there is any end in sight to the RMC conversions!

Cedar Fair and Six Flags have both removed asylum references across their parks... -
Disney used to consistently put out quality attractions, but in recent years they have been very lackluster. The imagineers used to create iconic attractions like Splash Mountain, The Great Movie Ride, and Dinosaur. All creative, original, and entertaining. But look at recent additions like Frozen Ever After, Test Track 2, and Soarin Over The World. All cheap overlays instead of new original attractions. They even took out the original Captain Eo and replaced it with Pixar short films at Epcot. Disney is churning out uninspired, unimaginative, and cheap attractions to us just like Six Flags. The magic is dead, people! Well since this is the Disneyland thread, I will only point out that they are building a Star Wars Land and are not even 10 years removed from Carsland at DCA. Not every attraction can be an E-ticket, nor can you always just expand into new space. Taking perfectly fine ride systems and updating the show material is just smart business sense.

ToT is going through what every ride/show closure goes through: everyone only cares about it now that it is leaving. Reality is that it is a budget version of the original ToT built as a stopgap by Eisner in response to all the criticism DCA faced. Since I don't care about Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm totally indifferent on the overlay. I HOPE that it too is not just a cheap stopgap measure...

Even thought I had express, when I went last Thursday the highest wait time I saw posted was 100. I even waited in the regular lines for Halloween, Tomb of the ancients, and Exorist because they were only posted at 25 min. I am sure it will get worse as it gets closer to Halloween. I highly recommend taking advantage of one of the in-park holding areas if you have an HHN ticket so you can have first crack at a maze queue line when the event opens.

SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread

Granted it is Six Flags, but one thing observed at SFMM...they only clean the areas that directly touch your face. There was dirt and other stuff on other parts. I think VR can be used effectively...but the ride has to be designed for it. Adding it to existing coasters doesn't do the coaster or the potential of the technology any justice. -

My biggest issue with VR is that until the processing power increases, it really doesn't improve the experience. It makes it different, but not better when you are looking at N64 graphics *cough* Six Flags *cough* -
I enjoyed the event this year...all of the houses were visually amazing with some fun scares. Except for the Chance house. That was clearly the one that got the short end of the budget stick. I don't get scared at haunts, so I'm going more to watch other people get scared and check out the sets/design. Bill & Teds was weak this year compared to the previous years that I have seen. On another bright side, the specialty drinks were good!

That's what people forget. We have wrecked the environment, so zoos/aquariums are needed as a way to offset that. -

Joey (Jewy) tried it one year and ended up in first aid! For the record, at least I went there on my own accord -
I'm aware of that. But the current senior management team is still made up of people who were with S&S/Arrow during the times of X and Hypersonic. I imagine many on the front lines stayed with the company as well. Time (and money) will heal all wounds...especially considering that both Six Flags and Cedar Fair still have to turn to S&S for parts and technical support no matter what happened.

The terror tram route is slightly shorter...it doesn't go all the way up the hill anymore. The cheesecloth maze was finally retired and replaced with shipping containers with clown vignettes...I thought that was an upgrade. I loved the firefighter clowns on the War of the Worlds portion as well. One thing I wish they'd do again is the very first year when the director was the icon, they had him throwing a body into a woodchipper as a final vignette as your tram was heading back to the unload area. Wish they'd do that again!

^Tennessee Tornado was designed to modern standards. Not with "coat hanger" engineering. Also, if I remember right, sections of the first three loops have been replaced/reinforced with extra cross ties over the years. I believe the last one was when the ride was periodically closed for X construction.

In-N-Out is only highly rated because of the price. I hate the fries and there are MUCH better burgers that cost only a little bit more.
