Replays are fine. Wasting an extra 5 minutes because you are waiting for your team replay guy to tell you whether or not to go ask the umpire to take a look at it is not. Needs to be an instant decision, similar to how NFL makes coach throw challenge flag before next play.

I'm all for that. I don't have a dog in this fight this postseason but I was floored by that check swing strike 3 call in the Dodger game yesterday, especially since he didn't even ask for help. I kind of like hitters and pitchers having to adjust to the margin of error in every human umpires strike zone, but check swings should be something reviewed if necessary. Slow motion replays make it obvious after one viewing. In that particular play, even the Washington catcher pointed down towards first base to ask for an appeal before realizing the umpire had called Puig out. However, I don't like how long reviews take...managers should have to make the decision to ask for a review or not right away, not wait for their replay guy to answer their phone call first.

The baseball Gods were good to Dodger fans today.

That was actually a pirate themed maze at Knott's years back, got the names mixed up! I would love if Six Flags collaborated with mycotoo inc on more mazes (Aftermath was designed by them---the company is led by David Wally of Queen Mary Dark Harbor fame). Then the wristband would actually be worth more!

The 17th Door Haunt - Orange County, CA

I've seen either this response or that it's a great haunt because it pushes the limits. I've never seen a more polarizing haunt...which I think is kind of cool. Anything that helps advance the Haunt industry and forces other mazes to try new things to is a win for the industry! -

When parks find something better that costs them almost nothing and allows for them to market something as all new. -
I'm not sure what your vision is, but I can assure you haunted houses are not cheap. If you want anything besides like curtains and some off the shelf props/costumes from a halloween store, you are going to struggle to get this up and running in a little under 2 months.

The YOLO sports bar is surprisingly decent for Six Flags. Local beer on tap and a burger that I'd rate slightly above average. That's fine by SFMM standards!

Jeff Fisher gonna Jeff Fisher. The Rams have done absolutely NOTHING to help him. Now that all the teams have a years worth of film on Gurley and the Rams, they haven't been able to adjust to counteract that. That, and they still don't have a passing game to be afraid of.

Went to Fright Fest friday mainly to check out aftermath and whatever of the other houses I could see without long waits. Verdict: Aftermath is definitely the best effort yet from Fright Fest. The outdoor wreckage scenes are great and it's clear the monsters all had direction too. Was fully staffed. The one thing I'd really like to see is have them improve upon the other scenes and add detail that is equal to the wreckage. Thought it was especially fun they used the old Deja Vu station as a high up scare spot for a monster. Suicide Squad scare zone on the other hand? Basically just a photo op. Not nearly enough fog or monsters. The most I saw was 3. The fire part of the projection mapping was cool, but the non fire portions of the "show" on the building seemed out of focus. The Gotham area used to be on par with "fog alley" at Ghost Town, now it's lame. Because of lines, I only went through the Toyz maze (still pretty lame---really needs more scenic and not JUST painted walls, but I approve of the cymbal monkey costumes) and Red Beards Revenge (the girl in our pre-show was awesome...the rest of the maze was meh. Still feels like they just bought every prop at a halloween store. Monsters just made minimal effort and what is with all the air blasts?)

I think there is a fine line between good show and annoying the guest. I haven't done this haunt because I definitely would not enjoy some of the more extreme things they do in this haunt, but I applaud the efforts to push the limits as well. -

Too bad Landshark is a Anheuser-Busch product. -
Unrelated: I could have nailed a pretty big parlay bet on the NL just picking playoff participants...

What a difference 3 weeks makes, 3-1 and first place in the division with wins over Seattle and Arizona with Case Keenum playing QB. If Goff pans out a develops the future in LA might be bright. I still stand by that comment. I still don't see the outlook being better than the typical Jeff Fisher 7-9, 8-8 record when all is said and done unless the passing game can get going.
