^I would be VERY impressed if Shapiro knew where every penny went. I'm guessing all he knows is "I gave you X amount of dollars" and maybe he'll ask questions if things don't seem right or he wants to check up on the place. That would be a lot of time wasted just crunching numbers for someone as high up the chain as him. I also don't believe that he arrived unannounced, but that would be besides the point. The point is, the park is not "improving" until they consistently do upkeep and maintain the things they fix up at the beginning of the year. Which I don't see happening any time soon. Budgets will start to run dry and the cuts will be evident as usual. These improvements scream "I want to keep my job *cough* Tim Burkhart *cough*, so I'd better put on a good show for the boss!"

I wonder how much of that stuff went back to being in ACE executives garages after the event? -
I saw the submarines backstage too. About a 100 times. Because they never moved from the old maintenance area until earlier this year. And all they got was a paintjob. Sweet stuff I tell you.

I would also sob hysterically [with joy] if you actually knew what you were talking about for a change.

They had to drop the "pedal to the metal" tagline, so they added "the ride" to replace that. -

^^^Sure people aren't going on TTD simply for the theme, but let me ask you this: do you think the average guest would rather wait in line for hours in nothing but switchbacks with no themeing at all, or at least be able to look at the MPH sign/X-mas tree lights to at least help pass the time? Themeing doesn't always make the ride, but it definitely provides "added value." For example...Scream! @ SFMM and B:TR @ SFMM. -
I don't think you understand what a trim brake is...because those are not "trim brakes."

FWIW, Universal Orlando/IoA edit out rides down for rehab from their maps. Not something that I would expect from a CF park, but you never know... -

Dan's not going to read this, so you should E-mail him. -
^^A sleek design and a no hassle OS that generally doesn't crash isn't a good reason to buy a computer?

Wow. A TR without a mention of knowing an Imagineer? BTW, where are there trim brakes on Mummy?

^^From what I have read, Vista is not 100% new from the ground up. It uses .NET 3.0 framework along with the Win32 stuff. The next version after Vista is supposed to be the first Microsoft OS that is really "all new."

A good umpire? There's no such thing!

While I don't think it was out of line to call it in as a suspicious item (If you were someone who had never seen ATHF and saw that on a bridge, you'd be like "WTF?" too)...the reaction was completely ridiculous. God bless America. We can be threatened with arrest and causing the terminal to be shut down for moving an unattended bag the chick at the Southwest counter didn't give two sh*ts about for the 10 minutes we told her about it before moving it, but this shuts the city of Boston down.

^^Even Expedition GeForce is somewhat themed. The whole area around it and the queue are themed to a base camp. It's simple but it works. -
On the bright side...that guy is going to make a sh*t load of money from Ted Turner.
