Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
Jew replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
They already have that. Regarding SF vs. Intamin: From what I have gathered, there was definitely some issues. They were none to pleased with S:TE. And rightfully so. But that happens with every theme park company out there. You hire a vendor to do something, you feel they haven't met their end of the deal, and a battle ensues. Disney, Universal, SF, Busch, and CF all have to go through this. But that's just business. If Intamin puts in the best bid for any future projects, I doubt SF is going to turn them down. -
Instead of building more Johnny Rockets, I wish they would improve the operations of the current full service location. They made our food quicker at the Johnny Rockets on the cruise ship! Don't get me wrong, I understand making it fresh makes it take a little bit longer...but for what people assume is going to be quick serve (as opposed to the one at KBF where it is the full sit down experience), it's not very quick. There's got to be a better way! Speaking of the full service Johnny Rockets...I hope this new one is another full service one!

^Exactly. I haven't even decided if I will be renewing my pass for 2009 since they took away free flashpass from the Xtreme pass. The passes were a great "insurance policy" in case I ever did want to ride anything when we would visit towards the end of a busy day. It also made it great for when we would host out-of-town visitors who needed all the credits. Oh well. I wish Magic the best of luck with the Q-bots. if the pricing is similar to the other Six Flags parks, I'm really not convinced they will sell as well as the old Flashpasses did. $15 or $20 in addition to whatever you paid to skip a few lines is reasonable. $15 rental fee+whatever the usage fee is+admission=not nearly as reasonable.

Rim Runner Leaving Las Vegas
Jew replied to HEADCHEEZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sadly, despite being by far the worst major hotel on the strip, the entire property is a cash cow for MGM. Especially now that Excalibur and Circus Circus are the only cheap/family hotels left! -
^Yeah, I saw that. Those numbers are pretty good, but I'm wondering what the total per-cap spending was. They also said that attendance was boosted by "strong fall promotions", so if they got 8% more people through the turnstiles on heavily discounted tickets spending 1% less than they did the year prior, the overall numbers may tell a different story. For better or for worse.

I'm just eagerly anticipating the day the whole complex is imploded to make way for the Kerzner (company that developed the Atlantis hotels) developed resort! Damn economy... -

They should look at it this way: lost revenue. They could have forced a buyer into keeping the hospitality centers open as part of the deal, which would have meant yet another nice account for them. -

Huh? It's a brake. With a platform below it for evacuating guests. It's there to stop a train from advancing forward into that last section if needed. And it's not a block brake? -
^Yes I was. And everything was cool except for the idiot Sax player from One Pin Short tried to jump up on the barricade, only to slip and fall elbowing me square in the nose. Further proof that band sucks.

Except for the fact One Pin Short blows. (Saw the same show in Vegas).

Just wanted to quote that post because I agree 100% with it. -

"Limited Appeal?" That's the worst PR spin I've heard in awhile. -
When it mattered... 3rd and 21 at IND 43 (6:14) (Shotgun) P.Manning pass incomplete short middle to J.Addai. 3rd and 2 at IND 9 (2:30) (Shotgun) P.Manning sacked at IND 1 for -8 yards (T.Dobbins). 1st and 10 at IND 32 (:08) (Shotgun) P.Manning pass incomplete deep left to R.Wayne. Rivers on the other hand? Led his team down the field for the game tying FG and TD. With help from a good run game, but none of that happens without smart QB play.
-
^Uhm...what game were you watching? Unlike your boy P-money, Rivers was able to lead his team down the field for a game tying FG and the go ahead TD in overtime. He certainly didn't light up the secondary, and was also certainly helped by the Colts inability to stop the run, but he sure did make great throws/decisions when he needed to down the stretch.
-
Wait, they play football in the ACC?
-
P-money celebrated his MVP by failing to close out the game in 3 or 4 straight possessions.
-
^I'm not sold on Texas. They don't play defense in the BIG XII, so OSU will be the most talented/fastest defense Texas has seen this year.
-
Could this be the year the BCS is finally busted? Between Utah going undefeated, the BIG XII not looking so hot anymore, the PAC-10 going 5-0 in bowls, Alabama getting owned while the rest of the SEC has looked pretty good...it sure would have been nice to have playoffs or a +1 system in place.
