I just want to second what Robb said. I'm so glad I added on a few extra days from the cruise to get this credit.

Photo TR: City Center in Las Vegas Opens!
Jew replied to Twister II's topic in Random, Random, Random
Are those the correct opening dates? I was under the impression Aria opens Dec 16th. I know that's when I'll be out there! How far of a walk from the strip to the entrance of Aria is it? -

Green Day @ LA Live. Great show featuring lots of stuff from Kerplunk and Dookie that they didn't play on their tour.

THE one thing the Six Flags Theme parks lack.
Jew replied to bostonlva's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^As Gav pointed out, a park doesn't have to spend a ton of money on an info board... Personally, if I was SF management...I would be all for a low tech information board. It's EXACTLY the type of thing Six Flags should be thinking about during their bankruptcy: cheap ways to improve the guest experience. Phone lines already exist at the rides, and I find it hard to believe they couldn't find a staff member or two to keep it updated... -

What's it saying about Six Flags that something like that (which does improve the guest experience) is so low on the list? -
Funny Things That Go Unnoticed
Jew replied to atem122's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's the picture for motion sickness---not fog effects. Hence the reason it's funny. -
Is it necessary to know what is going on? If a ride operator says technical difficulties and to check back later, why isn't that good enough? You don't want a time to return that may not be accurate, nor do you really need to know that "fault #28344353454 just occurred. We are replacing the flux capacitor."

SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread

I should also add that they are making an offer to the city to buy the land outright while also claiming they can't get investors because the city hasn't finalized its deal with Six Flags. So now they are trying to buy land from someone that by their own admission doesn't even have control of the land yet? It's a shame politicians in New Orleans/Louisana haven't figured out by now that this guy is nothing but a scam artist...but not the least bit surprising. -

Let me get this straight: the evidence these guys are trying to provide is the following quote? Could someone please explain to me how that translates into: -
Front of Line Pass, USH... Questions!
Jew replied to 89great's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To answer your questions correctly (since there was some bad information in this thread)... 1. Elissa is correct about the Behind the Scenes stuff. You get to stay in your seat until everyone else has left, then a cast member from the show comes out and does a meet and greet/Q&A session. It's definitely not the most in-depth "behind the scenes tour," but it's great if you have kids with you or tourists who know absolutely nothing about stunts. They'll tell you some very basic "how it is done" stuff, and provide you with some unique photo opportunities. 2. The Front of the Line pass does not guarantee you whatever seat you want on a ride. However, you shouldn't have a problem simply asking a ride operator for whichever row you want. 3. There is a separate entrance at every attraction that will take you right to the front of the line (hence the name of the pass), where you will only have to wait a few minutes (if that---the lines are only for Gate A passholders, so the only wait is if another group happens to be in front of you). You can use the pass as many times as you want, but you cannot stay seated. Just have to exit and come right back around. -
^The luck left when they hired Charlie Weis.

Funfairs are better than our carnivals
Jew replied to atlantakid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A lot of the major rides in europe are too heavy for U.S. highways. Fairs here also don't make enough money to support the operation of major rides...the cost of moving and setting up a 3 or more trailer ride is ridiculous. -

Uhm...they couldn't make a $500,000 good faith payment...and now they have 12.5 million dollars? That sounds exactly like a deal the idiotic mayor of New Orleans would take... -
I guess I'll be the first android user to the party... My boss is always raving about Sherpa (not available on the Droid yet). Uses your GPS to guide you to restaurants/stores/etc. around you. I thought this one was pretty cool too: http://qik.com/ Stream live (well, ok, not live: 10 second delay) from your phone! It does 480p video on the Droid. Looked pretty good when I tested it today. I just got the Droid yesterday, so I'm sure I'll add more to this as I get time to test more apps.

Gee, I wonder why they couldn't give any of that information to the city? -
Hey, they had another close loss to USC...maybe they will give Charlie Weis another 10 year contract!

Bringing food to US themeparks
Jew replied to Coasterfan85's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Take a look at the parks websites: most (if not all) of them should have a section on there devoted to park policies. Here's a few...look around the park websites and it should be pretty easy to find. http://www.knotts.com/public/visit/faq.cfm http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/info/policies.aspx -
^^^^^So what you're saying is that Disney is still using Eisner era logic in their decisions? Instead of letting creative people make the decisions and do their thing, they are basing it off strong sales of merchandise? I'm sure the ride will still be successful, but it still seems so uninspired. Radiator Springs isn't even in California!

Post your milestone coasters
Jew replied to bgwfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would say one since it is the same ride. But I count it, along with any other carnival coasters I can verify I haven't ridden elsewhere.
