  1. Just look at the regular map and use this info: Wolfman: House of Horrors The Things: Across from Mels Diner La Llorna: Shrek Hostel & Alice Cooper: Lower Lot Terror Tram: Tram Bill & Teds: Special Effects Stage
  2. If you are there from open-close, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get through all the mazes. The mazes are walk-ups for the first hour, and get down to 15 min or less waits in the last hour as well (except for the lower lot mazes, since EVERYONE decides to wait until the end for those).
  3. From what I can vaguely remember, Joe & I rode this ride after 6L of beer and thought it was pretty weak. It only flips you upside down a couple times, and the flips are too slow to really scare you.
  4. You know, that makes perfect sense. Why have concerts in that dinky amphitheater when they could be in the huge stadium? Removing the theater opens up land for a great coaster and having concerts in the stadium allows a larger audience which means (way) more profit in ticket sales as well as food and beverage sales at the stadium while the park can have room to grow....I think its good for everyone this way. There's only so many tours that could sell out a football stadium. Keeping/upgrading the amphitheater is a better option for making the area an "entertainment destination." Look at L.A. Live: they want a football stadium, already have staples center (18,000 seats), have the 7,000 seat Noka Theatre, and the 2,500 seat Club Nokia in one place.
  5. ^Why would you say that? That would just be rock work+water pumps! Considering how extensive the rock work is for Carsland, I'd say they are certainly capable of matching that "concept art" if they chose to do so.
  6. Talk is one thing...putting money behind it is entirely another. The potential is certainly there for an awesome attraction.
  7. Creatively, I think this opens up the possibility to lots of cool ideas for attractions. Marketing? Not so sure how this is going to work out. I don't think anybody thought Avatar was a good movie, but its popularity came from being the first movie to take 3D to the next level. Now with 3D movies popping up left and right (some even using the same production techniques as Avatar), it will be interesting to see how much the sequels will gross.
  8. I see the future of the park being something along the lines of what Shane posted: an outdoor shopping/dining/entertainment area that keeps some rides as a way to supplement the new stadium..
  9. I've actually thought about the Dinousars building too, though I've always wanted them to build a shooting dark ride or something like that in there. My other huge project I have always thought would be so cool for them to do, is remove Perilous Plunge and build a dive machine with a huge water splash at the end. The Beary Tales/KoD building was ripped up to accommodate Johnny Rockets. They had to cut out portions of it to get the ventilation systems in for the kitchen. I'm sure a dark ride could still go up there, but the amount of usable space isn't the same anymore.
  10. Two things... 1. Anyone want to buy the Dallas Stars? They're up for auction. 2. Someone should tell Drew Doughty that to be a teams highest paid player you actually have to progress, instead of regress and be out of position all the time on defense/not score as much...
  11. This is a great deal...I wish I wasn't working so I could go! Everyone should get in on this!
  12. Details for the VIP tour have been put on the website as well: http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/hollywood/2011/tickets/VIP.html $170 or $190 depending on which night you choose. The tour is completely different than the normal VIP tour, as you go to different areas and the tour guides tell ghost stories. IIRC, you get to see stage 28 (phantom of the opera stage) & 6 points Texas.
  13. ^We'll find out when Transformers opens in Singapore! "We had tight real estate in Hollywood and we had tight real estate in Singapore, so the solution was beneficial in both locations, and it's exactly the same building [in both theme parks]."-Mark Woodbury (president of Universal Creative)
  14. I would recommend not going this year and signing up for the Ambassador program next year: http://www.iaapa.org/expos/attractions/ShowAmbassador.asp That's probably your best shot at networking.
  15. Just posted on the Transformers ride blog.
  16. Rob Zombie did that all the time when HHN had "The Thrilling Chilling World of Rob Zombie" maze.
  17. How much more obvious can you get than giant white letters painted on the side of a brown building? The park would be covered in nothing but signs if that was all that was required in absense of common sense...
  18. Head on a swivel!
  19. The dog wouldn't have been allowed into the park either way. Companion animals aren't covered under ADA laws.
  20. Given the location, I am not expecting this to be part of any project. I would guess that is for new backstage buildings. Maybe new haunt storage space? Replacing the aging office buildings, or finally moving some departments from trailers to actual offices? I definitely hope I am wrong though, and this turns out to be the start of the next big project.
  21. You should be more disgusted by the fact Virginia Tech barely beat ECU.
  22. I doubt anyone can truly give you an answer to that, as I am sure every parks situation is unique. However, I would imagine that any park who is in a floodplain would have the business sense to make sure they are insured. I'm sure it costs less to be insured than to spend a crapload of money every time the park floods to get everything back up and running.
