  1. ^I think that is going to the key for the attraction. Forbidden Journey had amazing detail, a bitching ride system...but I was totally lost as someone who hasn't seen any of the movies or read any of the books. I hope whatever this is can do a better job letting the casual guests know what is going on!!
  2. ^^That's awesome news about the ERT. I look forward to using WCB as my excuse to finally get the Green Lantern credit!
  3. My question is this: did the ride really have "staying power" if on its final day it had no wait until the last few hours before it closed? IMO, Jaws was a great "complimentary" attraction in the sense that it helped spread out the crowds on busy days and was actually enjoyable (unlike, say, for example, when they randomly decide to bring back Fear Factor Live during busy times), but it wasn't a star anymore. So I'm not bummed to see it go, even if it is for something I know absolutely nothing about. As a somewhat related side note: I hope the investment doesn't stop with Harry Potter. Replacements for all those other outdated attractions that are NOT Harry Potter related would be great for the long term future of the resort.
  4. ^You know the credit whore inside you secretly wants the credit over Jaws...even if it is Potter.
  5. I actually think this is going to backfire on the parks: a night without the 3rd shift to clean/fix stuff, restaurants having to stock 24 hours worth of food because delivery trucks can't drive through the park, staffing the park for 24 hours straight, and all the other logistical challenges are surely going to cost them a fortune! A fortune that most annual passholders will probably not give them back.
  6. On the flip side, there's also probably a large contingent of guests who are happy there will be more Potter and no Jaws. You can never please everyone, so they might as well follow the money!
  7. My thoughts exactly. Bring on the new credit...even if I don't know anything about Harry Potter. Oh, I'm not saying that. I'd much rather have Jaws than anything Potter. I'd be more willing to wait 20 minutes for Jaws thsan FJ, for example. Wouldn't wait 60 minutes for either. Sorry, wasn't trying to put words in your mouth by any means. I was just echoing the sentiment that the ride wasn't worth the 60 min wait. The part about a credit is my own opinion...I'm indifferent about Harry Potter and Jaws, so I'd personally rather have the credit!
  8. T2 and Shrek have stationary seats available for guests.
  9. My thoughts exactly. Bring on the new credit...even if I don't know anything about Harry Potter.
  10. As I posted on Facebook, the real reason the recording and movie industries want this law to pass is because they are afraid of the power the internet gives to talented people. They blame piracy for their foolish investment in a crap product, while the talented musicians/directors/producers/etc. find new ways to be less dependent on the big companies. As just one example, Louis CK was able to make $1 million, by *gasp*, offering a reasonably priced download directly to his fans without any record company as the middle man.
  11. ^Have you been able to see the Transformers characters? The picture RW Sentosa posted on their Facebook looked incredible!
  12. Here's the official park riders guide All of the major attractions (Studio Tour, Simpsons, ROTM, even JP with the drop brakes) are going to have some violent motion on-par or worse than Star Tours. Only JP and Mummy offer single rider lines.
  13. ^^Those "project sunshine" ships are supposed to be 158,000 gross tonnage ships. Judging from your pictures, a freedom class size version of those should be really nice!
  14. It goes without saying that ANY holiday weekend where most people have the day off from work/school is going to be a crowded day for any theme park.
  15. Got myself a Galaxy Nexus. Goodbye original Droid.
  16. The sad part is, I'm sure this guy does nothing but shop around with his credit card hoping someone prints the expiration date...
  17. In today's installment of "there's not much going on that we can see from the outside so this is exciting:" Signs! Hooray for a single rider line!
  18. "Stay on to see the deal through"="I need to see if I can fix this mess I created." He didn't, lost his Chairmans position, and probably would have been forced out if not for this retirement plan. I doubt that's what he had in mind when he decided to stay on until 2012.
  19. I'm hoping the other Legolands are watching!!!
  20. He's really kicking himself for how that Paramount Parks deal played out. He'd still have a job if not for the risk he took with all that debt.
  21. Matt Barkley for Heisman!! (Has no interest in this years bowls, but am already eagerly anticipating what should be the long overdue USC vs. SEC champ BCS title game next season!) P.S.: screw the NCAA.
  22. mmmm...Intamin airtime goodness. Can't wait to see how this turns out!
  23. Doubtful. They haven't signed a deal to move to the Great Park yet.
  24. If the financing fell through on the stronger licenses of the Busch parks and Universal, what are the chances this actually gets built?
