^Pretty sure they'll do OK with a star flyer, the two coasters, and the sky coaster. The local markets needs good, cheap fun and this will fill that void perfectly. -

Great reports! I still need to do the WB Tour. Sony's was pretty lame, but we enjoyed Paramounts too. Thanks for giving me the perfect opportunity to post this photo Dan took when we did the tour. -
Definitely the Transformers ride commercial during the pre game show!

Done! My Top 5: T Express Balder El Toro Colossos Thunderhead -
^Agreed. There's only 15 ships in their entire fleet...makes absolutely no sense to select someone you think has character issues to be the captain of one of your largest ships!! Side note: Oddly enough, the Carnival Splendor (the one left stranded at sea for 3 days after an engine fire) is a sister ship to the Costa Concordia...

I hope they'll bring back the pizza thrower toy to sell in the gift shop!! -
Glad to see Cedar Fair enter the 21st century...not sure why Dick Kinzel and Co. couldn't figure out the rest of the industry was making millions of dollars from simple things like express passes, valet, and other up charge items... I wonder how long it will be before the rest of the "good old boys" are forced to retire?

They really need to find a way to get a good camera angle even with the crossbar...

^He won't get fired for the incident, but rather if everything is true...he'll end up getting fired for his record after a few mediocre seasons because he's lost control of the team.

^I agree. If a shipping trade publication could find the AIS tracking data of this journey and the previously approved salute in August, it really blows my mind that no one in the corporate office is responsible for tracking/logging the ships journies (I would assume they would WANT to track this for captain performance audits/see the fuel costs/etc.) Also, the poor captain can't even keep his stories straight. I believe it was already reported that the retired captain that was allegedly being saluted was not even on the island, as that home is his summer home. However, it was reported that the head waiter had family on the island and his sister posted on facebook that the ship would be coming close to salute the island. He was also supposedly on the bridge for this salute. This is definitely going to cost Carnival more than their estimated $100m loss.

Sounds like this is the beginning of the end of the Les Miles era.

That mall we went to as part of the TPR China trip (with the giant roller skater) is like 80% vacant, with the only tenants doing good Pizza Hut/McDonalds/the amusement park. Hope this mall can do well (or at least have the coaster survive long enough for me to get the credit) since it is closer to where the money is in China.

*insert obligatory Miami Heat losing joke here* Seriously though, I'm with Robb. I know that in such a large corporation you can't keep track of everything, but there are also lots of things that are corporate policies standardized throughout the different companies. I would assume that captain training and emergency procedures would some of those things. Something else that stands out to me is that this practice of "saluting the island" seems to be a longstanding tradition. I would be willing to bet lots of people (including those high up in the company) knew of it.

Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread

^^It's not about the competition. It's about the fact that SFKK would require a significant amount of money to meet the staffing/maintenance/merchandising/food requirements compared to Holiday World. HUGE risk with little reward. -

^^Exactly. Unless the deal is heavily subsidized by the fair board and it is just them coming in to operate it without much financial risk, it's a very bad deal for them. -
Dear Kings: It's great that you are collecting points game after game, but it would be real nice if you could actually win a game in OT/Shootout every now and then...
