  1. ^Why doesn't it make sense? The 7" inch/low cost tablet market was the one segment Apple didn't have a footprint in and now it does. The mini is definitely going to put a dent into sales of the Kindle/Nook/Nexus. Sure there is more value in buying other tablets if you really do your research, but Apple is the "it" brand. Kids aren't going to be asking their parents for a kindle or nexus for the holidays--they're going to be asking for an iPad. And now it is cheaper to say you have an iPad (even if it is a mini).
  2. I say leave it as a tourist attraction. How cool would it be to scuba dive through the wreckage?
  3. That concept looks awesome. Glad to see them trying to turn the studios park into more than a few hour experience.
  4. ^^Honestly, the "iSheep" comment really doesn't work for the iPad mini. The iPad mini is clearly meant to be a mass market tablet to take on the kindle, nook, and nexus 7. The tech is old news for the "iSheep." The "iSheep" will jump on the new iPad and iMac though!
  5. I was only in New York for a weekend, but this is exactly why I enjoyed it: the city has a personality. This TR made me bummed I didn't get to explore nearly as much as I wanted to.
  6. Who knew casino elevators could be so thrilling? (since that is ultimately where SFKK is headed)
  7. ^Yes. Get there early and they will be spieling with instructions on where to go for the early entrance. You can get the AP price information on the website. It will ask you for your barcode.
  8. Book of Mormon is playing in L.A. right now, so maybe that is why they can get away with the reference.
  9. ^I would imagine it is because there is an entire generation of kids who have no idea who the Dapper Dans are and what they are supposed to represent. I agree that it sounds kind of ridiculous and it is not something I'll stop to watch, but there are sure to be tons of teens who will.
  10. That was Xcelerator. I believe the story was that it was the son of the guy in charge of development for Knott's. The story Jack Falfas told about Silver Bullet's colors is that the intent was for it to represent the fire/smoke when the bullet comes out of the barrel.
  11. I'm sure Friday will be packed during the evening hours.
  12. ^^Now it makes sense. I bet they already have a secret backroom deal in place for a casino as soon as no one can meet the terms of their RFP.
  13. There's nothing beautiful about a neon green car.
  14. They announced on their Facebook page that the park hours for the remaining HHN nights have been expanded until 1AM. Good to see this event be so successful so quick! The scare zone scenes look great...I'd love to see that back at UO and at USH as well!
  15. Maze wait times are an imperfect science, as you can never predict how people will react to the scares. 160 minutes posted is the absolute worst case scenario---actual wait times are most likely much lower. Though I agree that I hope the event keeps growing and more mazes are added!
  16. -Zipper -KMG Fireball -KMG Tango
  17. Great photos as always. I know I say this every time you post a TR, but it is always true: I really wish U.S. fairs could all go to the independent model that Europe has.
  18. If that wait time information is sourced from guests, of course it is going to be inaccurate. People always feel like they are waiting longer than they really are.
  19. The gag order has been lifted, but the witches have been removed from the streets.
  20. It was truly awful. Lets hope the park has something big in store as its replacement!
  21. BTW, I believe the character was one of the tricksters. In other words: it was his job to joke around. And I'm pretty sure pigs are supposed to Oink. Same for clowns joking around. Working in the industry as long as I have, it is VERY easy to tell a legitimate complaint vs. a BS one. When they throw around terms they don't even understand (discrimination in this case) and think they understand how it should have been done because "they work...", it is a dead giveaway it is a bogus complaint.
  22. And one more falls from the potential 1-loss title group...thanks for playing South Carolina.
  23. How dare the park try to increase the appeal of the ride to a broader audience.
  24. ^Definitely. But it feels like the bubble on indoor water parks burst a few years ago.
