  1. I haven't been around much, lately, so I apologize if this has been posted already. http://www.goingjesus.com/cavalcade1.shtml Don't miss the WTFWJD t-shirt! Maureen "mmmmmmm, chocolate Jesus" O'Donnell
  2. 1. Why am I not there?!? 2. I was hoping that would be the case. This makes me want to get back there even more now!! Grrr... 3. No one will quite grasp that until they experience it for themselves. I use the word 'experience' because that's exactly what visiting the country was! It just kicked ass on so many levels. I miss it! 4. WTF?? That's lame! And that Yakitory looked friggin' awesome! If only they had something like that at The Fishing Restaurant!! 5. BOOO! -Dan "It was the 3 Chicken Tika Masala, Level 5 Extra Extra Hot that made those meals so great" Angona So nice to have you join us, Dan!
  3. Sören, I am so sorry that your parents are making this difficult for you. It can be very hard for parents to let go, even when you are an adult. My mother cried the last time I moved away from Massachusetts, and I was 33 years old! I'm guessing that they are just having a hard time accepting that you will be so far away from them. That's a scary thing, for parents. Can they actually prevent you from flying, or are they just saying that? Best of luck to you, with the rest of your preparations. We will be making many trips to WDW this next year, so I am looking forward to meeting you! Maureen
  4. Thank you so much for sharing them with us! They are so damn cute, I can't stand it. I've been wanting to get a guinea pig for my kids, but I'm afraid my cat would attack it, so we'll have to wait (she's almost 18 )
  5. That's really great. Has it ever occured to you that you could be inconveniencing people who actually need elevators, like people in wheelchairs, or tired pregnant women with toddlers? Sorry, but this is a pet peeve of mine.
  6. LMFAO! Oh yeah, I would have known that right away. I know the movie by heart! I was a big fan of Spalding Gray and Talking Heads, so I was taken in from the start. Maureen "I like hairy men. Jesus was hairy." O'Donnell
  7. I vividly remember the next morning, sitting outside school, waiting to be let in for classes. One of my friends started singing "Yesterday." We were all in shock, and a lot of people started crying.
  8. LOL! TPR credits! I haven't met anyone, yet, but we're planning on spending a lot of time at WDW next year, so I hope to see some of you there! BTW, Wally - True Stories is one of my favorite movies! Maureen "celebrating special-ness" O'Donnell
  9. I've already encountered three separate roller coaster references (where he states how much he loves coasters) in my psychology textbook, and a photo of the Coney Island Cyclone. So, any Williams College psych professors on this site?
  10. The Little Drummer Boy. I still get the chills when he plays for baby Jesus.
  11. ^^I think it totally depends on the CMs you happen to encounter. More and more people are wearing the bride and groom ears, like the birthday buttons. We celebrated 3 birthdays at WDW last year, and wore the birthday buttons each time, just for the fun of it. The only time we got anything other than "Happy Birthday" greetings was on my birthday. The CMs in Pizzafari suprised me at our table with a free dessert pizza, and sang to me. It was a very nice surprise, as I really wasn't expecting anything. It was very early for lunch - before 11AM, and there were very few people there. If it is something you want to do because it would be fun for you, I'd say go for it. If you are only doing it to try to get perks, though, it might not be worth it for you.
  12. Going skateboarding with arthritis can't kill you. Riding roller coasters with a congenital tricuspid valve defect, while taking daily cardiac medication can kill you, even if you don't exhibit any symptoms. One minute you're fine, the next minute, you are dead. It isn't cool. Just because she has been ok so far doesn't mean it couldn't happen on any given ride. I sincerely hope she has an ok from her cardiologist to ride roller coasters!!!! I'm not trying to scare you, and I would think your parents would be on top of this, so hopefully she does have an ok. I really agonized about responding here, because it's not your responsibility to know about these things. But, as a soon-to-be RN who is currently studying pediatric cardiology (and who is also a mom,) I'm nervous for your sister, based on what you've said. I felt it my responsibility to at least say something.
  13. ITA!!! 15-30 minutes is our max for any ride.
  14. Sören, I talked to my landlord. I sent you a PM with some info. Let me know if you received it. Maureen
  15. "PC load letter - WTF does that mean?!" I don't know of anyone with my name, but I'm certain there are plenty out there. Maureen "I love Office Space" O'Donnell
  16. LOL! But hey, Bethany and Dallas are really cute kids, and Robb did have something to do with that!
  17. I was hoping to get some TPR dvds, flannel sleep pants, and a new backpack, but since I'm not working anymore, the Christmas budget has evaporated. We're still planning to get our WDW seasonal passes and spend 4 days in the World, the first week of January, so that's a pretty decent Christmas gift!
  18. Very exciting, Soren! It won't be easy, but it will certainly be an adventure! I will be very happy to help you in any way I can. Best of luck to you, in the process. Maureen
  19. ^yes, I did click on the original link, and that ain't it!
  20. ^Sorry to rain on your parade, Eric!
  21. Kudos, Elissa, for being such a good sport! LMAO about the Habitrails. I was pregnant with my first child when SFNE opened (living in the Springfield area at the time.) We had free season passes, but ended up giving them away because I was due in September (actually delivered on August 31.) I'd recommend getting pregnant in August. You'll be pretty safe riding during the first trimester, and then you'll recover in enough time that the next season won't be shot!
  22. ^LOL! Great choice, Julie! I think that is my 2nd favorite. My absolute favorite, though, is Robb proposing to Elissa.
  23. And next in the news, people with diabetes shouldn't eat an entire sheet cake with frosting in one sitting!
  24. I will talk to him soon - I need him to fix my dining room fan! I will definitely talk to him for you, and see what information I can get for you. We have been living here for over 4 years, so we have a good relationship with him. I'm sure he will be happy to help in any way that he can. And I'll start talking to my classmates, to find out who likes German men! LOL!!
