  8. I don't think this is true. The track experiences the same amount of force whether it is inverted or ontop of the track since gravity will always be pulling the train downwards. Also, due to the track configuration, the normal force will be the same in both scenarios. So Force = Mass X Acceleration. In both scenarios, the force the track needs to exert to remain in its original position is the mass of the train X 9.8 (acceleration due to graavity). F = M(9.8 ) in both scenarios, meaning there is no difference. Mark "I could be wrong since I'm still learning free body diagrams" Luskus
  9. War is officially declared by Congress, not the President. The last time Congress declared war was during WWII. Therefore, the decision to go to war was pretty much that of the President. Also, in response to the above post, Bush's approval rating is an extremely low 42%. Except for Nixon who was destroyed by Watergate, this is the LOWEST approval rating of a post war (Post WWII) President. Republicans have historically not fared well in 6th year midterm elections and with this horrendous approval rating, I have no doubt in my mind that the house and senate will be taken away from the republicans in the fall elections. Mark "The democrats have no problems getting their constituents to vote. I'm really going to enjoy seeing the country become more democratic" Luskus
  10. In terms of clothes I go to a wide variety of stores. Anywhere from Macy's to a random thrift store. I like Target for pretty much everything else. Mark "Everything I need is within a 15 minute drive" Luskus

  12. I absolutely agree that we should not be so heavily involved in another countries affairs, but to be fair to Bush (wow, never thought I'd defend him), numerous US presidents have severely meddled in the affairs of other countries. Bush is not alone in doing this. Mark "Learn about US intervention in Latin America. You would be shocked" Luskus
  13. I am a democrat and am strongly against President Bush. I feel as if his administration has handled things poorly. -The war on Iraq is a major issue We alienated our allies, lost many innocent lives, and stretched our military so thin that it is close to collapsing. -The "Terrorist Surveillance Program" threatens our constitutional rights. -Bush used family values as his major platform for the 2004 election, yet has done nothing about them. Those are a few of my gripes. Overall I see him as a threat to this country and the world and I look forward to the next US administration. Mark "Hope I didn't offend anyone" Luskus
  14. Yeah, Maine definitely cannot support a major theme park. A nice small park would be perfect though! Mark "Maybe one day I'll actually visit Maine" Luskus
