  1. I also hate those ones about people doing all kinds of odd things, and you're not really sure what the point is, then you find out it's an ad for Jeans!
  2. Well, the announcer was a bit repetative at times, but overall it was a nice video. The inclusion of "You'll be in my heart" as the song was a nice touch, and a welcome change from "When You Wish Upon a Star" or "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" like I've heard on other videos. Doug "Where can you go...to shut up that announcer? " Booth
  3. I remember the first time I went to kennywood, wearing a brand new pair of red shorts, and a white Cleveland Indians Shirt with matching cap. I decided to go on the Raging Rapids, and I got SOAKED on that thing. the red from the shorts ran onto my white shirt along the bottom, and I'll never forget when I walked to the car in my wet shoes and socks, and my feet seemed oddly sore, before taking off my socks to discover that the soles of my feet looked like two big prunes, wrinkled beyond belief! I'm laughing right now just thinking about it, hehe. Think I learned anything the next time I went? Nope! The next time I went, I made the mistake of riding the Pittsburgh Plunge while wearing silk boxers! God that gave me an unholy rash. I didn't find it funny then, but I'm laughing now hehe.
  4. For me it's definitely the old Intamin T-bar, followed by almost anything B&M Makes.
  5. I wish I could ride that one too. Having only been to SFDL, CP, and BGW in the last few years, I haven't had the priviledge of being able to ride a DECENT woodie.
  6. Relax rob, I was just joking around anyway. Of course it's not Intiman's fault. If you're gonna go on a coaster like that and you weigh like 400 lbs and your belly is larger than the seat, you're setting yourself up. That's exactly what I thought when I first heard about the SFDL incident, and I was one of the first to know since that park's so close to me.
  7. I read comments in the trip photo album on this site that parts of Tokyo Disneyland looked very similar to the one in California. I actually researched the subject of Japanese parks for a paper I wrote in a Japanese culture class that I took in college, and I know the reason why it's so similar. And no, this has nothing to do with cost or laziness. See, when the Japanese visit a park, they want to feel as if they've gone to another country. The japanese love to travel, and when they can't leave the country for whatever reason, they want to simulate the experience as much as possible. In the case of Tokyo Disneyland, they wanted the park to resemble the original disneyland as much as humanly possible, because they wanted their guests to feel like they've actually traveled to Anaheim, CA. This is why so many sections of Disneysea try to simulate the feel of being in another country as much as possible, from what I've seen on the videos and photos anyway. It's the same case for Parque Espana, which seems to simulate a trip to spain, though a somewhat fictionalized version. There are other parks out there too, which recreate nations from Holland all the way to Turkey, and even Canada. Just thought I'd share some knowledge with you on the subject.
  8. Well, where Steel Dragon's concerned, the one big mistake Nagashima Spa Land made was actually thinking that an American firm (DH Morgan) could actually make a reliable giga coaster. Doug "I know about Intamin's coaster accidents from a while back, but that's beside the point." Booth
  9. Well, my dad set everything up on the router, so I have no clue how security on that thing works. Anyway, I WAS able to find where you enter the network key this morning. So, It doesn't say the network isn't in range anymore...it's just not able to connect when it finds the network! I really have no clue what's causing this. If my old crappy Dell with an old netgear MA111 adapter can connect to the router, then I don't see why my new HP can't do the same thing. I'm really beginning to think the problem is with my HP. One guy suggested that the reason it was shutting down when I tried to install the old adapter, was because of a poor power supply unit. And with my new Linksys adapter unable to connect at all, I'm starting to wonder if this is indeed the case. If it is, then I'm really mad. I've been to Best Buy, and I've seen how much those PSU's can cost...YOW!
  10. Hey, thanks for the link. Geez, I didn't know that disneylandsource.com was alive and operating under a different name
  11. BGW is definitely one of the best all-around theme park experiences I've ever been to. With all due respect to Cedar Point, which I usually visit, it was nice to visit a park that had so many trees, and such nice themeing, and food that was actually worth the high prices Apollo's charriot is definitely one of my all time favorite Hypers, not only because of its great speed and drops, but because it was the coaster that busted Fabio's schnoz, hehehe
  12. Ok. I also noticed that the router has WEP encryption, with a network key that I have written down. The problem is, I don't know where to enter it, because on the manual, the screen they show for the list of available networks is totally different from what I see on my screen. Maybe I have a newer version of XP, I'm not sure. I did just buy the HP two months ago. Anyway, this version of the menu I have seems to show no place to enter the network key, which my computer plainly says my router has.
  13. Wow. That looks like one heck of a tunnel. I wonder if they're gonna put any theming in there. Probably not, which is fine by me. The darkness alone would be thrilling on this coaster.
  14. I'd say that I'm shocked to hear this happened, but then again when I was 14, I knew about other people my age who did stuff that was even worse.
  15. I recently got a new processor a couple of months ago. It's an HP pavillion with Windows XP, tons of HD space, and a pentium IV processor, which I hope will eventually replace the ancient 2000 Dell with ME that I've had for 5 years, and am currently typing on. See, the one thing keeping the HP from totally replacing the Dell processor is the fact that I can't get the damn thing to go online. See, my Dell is connected to a Netgear wireless router from downstairs, which I access from a Netgear wireless adapter. I tried to install the Netgear adapter onto the new HP, and it doesn't like the thing. It shuts itself down in the middle of installation and turns itself back on, and it will keep shutting down until I unplug the adapter. So, I decided to go with another adapter. Today I purchased a Linksys WUSB11 adapter at Best Buy. It said on the box that this particular version was designed with XP in mind. However, the Installation CD refused to fire up at all into setup mode (A purple screen flashed for a second, and then vanished), so I had to pull all the files out manually and put them in with my program files. Anyway, the Linksys adapter seemed to install itself without any problems, and it immediately detected the router downstairs. Unfortunately, it can't connect to the thing, because it's telling me that the network cable is unplugged! Now, how is that even possible when I'm trying to connect to a WIRELESS router? The adapter's monitor, which I pulled onto the computer from the disk, is no help either. It seems to be disabled, even though the adapter is able to detect the router anyway. I'm really perplexed here. Does anyone here know what I'm talking about? Do you know where I can get some help for this? I want to get this new HP on the internet damnit! All this new power at my hands, and it's going to waste!
  16. I've never been to disneyland, so I've never ridden the Indiana Jones Adventure, so I'd of course be thrilled to see this one built in WDW as well
  17. Well, Nemmy, I have to thank you for introducing me to Bearshare. I found both "Best friend" and "Sailor Song" through that application.
  18. I have the sneaking suspicion that Toybox is from somewhere in Scandanavia, mainly because I mistook them for Aqua when I first heard their songs
  19. Both Sheikra and Hydra look like they're gonna be awesome.
  20. 272 times?...that's probably how many times I'll have to try to get my license here in Ithaca, where they fail you for doing something as minor as pulling out a little too far to make a turn.
  21. ^ That doesn't make sense...aren't those resorts already on Disney property?
  22. I don't really care what defines a dark ride, but i do agree that dark rides these days have become by and far much too loud and physically violent, so eager to make us jump every five seconds. I know this sounds hypocritical coming from a coaster lover, but as a fan of most of the original EPCOT, I have to say, are we really this over-stimulated as a culture, that we can't even enjoy a nice little darkride anymore?
  23. I am starting to lean towards Universal Orlando at the moment. Like I said, I've never been there, and I haven't been to Orlando since 1999 anyway.
  24. Funny, whenever somebody mentions the name of this ride, I immediately think of "Clash of The Titans". Seriously though, that does look like an awesome coaster. I've seen the other Floorless coasters in action, but that one looks simply intense.
  25. ^ Of course, this is today's modern, more "cost effective" Disney we're talking about As for future rides, I've always wanted to see a B&M flying coaster themed after the hero Iron Man on Marvel super hero island. The restraints could even resemble the chest plate parts of Iron Man's armor. Of course that's just wishful thinking for me hehe.
