  1. Oh god, I forgot all about Hanson. I remember everyone in the media was making such a big deal about them back in the day, and they only had like one hit song in their entire time in the spotlight. It was psychotic. Doug "The most glorified one-hit wonders in all of music" Booth
  2. The title is self explanatory. Is there a song (or songs) out there that makes you absolutely cringe every time it comes on the radio or Television? For me, the worst, most cringe-inducing song I've ever heard was Macarthur Park, the original version sung by Richard Harris. A guy who was known for his wild reputation as an actor, who hung out with cool old actors like Robert Shaw, and yet here he is singing about a god damned cake. Not exactly a shining moment for anyone's career.
  3. "As god as my witness, I'll never go hungry again!" Next movie: They Live
  4. "I hate Illinois Nazis" Next movie: Total Recall
  5. No wheezing the Ju-uuuice! Next Movie: Kill Bill
  6. There is no way...that you could be the fruit of my loins...when I get home, I'm gonna smack yo mama in the mouth. Next movie: Raiders of The Lost Ark
  7. Greetings Programs! Next movie: Ghostbusters
  8. Even though I haven't been there since they still had the original Steel Phantom, I still voted for Kennywood. That place was was just full of good memories for me. I'd love to go back and ride Phantom's Revenge one of these days.
  9. The only B&M inverts I've ever been on have been Raptor and Alpengeist, and for now I have to pick Alpie as my favorite. Not only is it fast and exhilirating, but it also had a MUCH shorter wait when I went to BGW last summer, and you're not baking in the sun in the queue like in Raptor's.
  10. I second the Raging Wolf Bobs vote. I've talked about it before, but that coaster is absolute torture to go through. A few years ago I'd have said Mantis at CP, because my calves would hurt every time I went on it. Then I discovered that was instinctively trying to stand on my toes because of some irrational fear that the bicycle seat thing on that coaster would damage a certain part of my anatomy. So the last time I rode it, I fought temptation, kept my feet flat on the ground, and everything went smoothly.
  11. I'll admit, I've never had any experience with Fastpass or q-bots or stuff like that. But to me it seems like it's going to turn into another way to stand in line. It seems to me that with fastpass, a heck of a lot of other people are going to come at the time you have designated, and you're still gonna be waiting in line regardless of all things. And as for q-bot, well, it seems to me that more people with the money to do it are going to become aware of it, and Six Flags will have just created a system where you pay money to stand in line basically. Seems pretty dumb to me. Then again, there could be something to this I'm not getting. I've never understood how that whole fastpass thing works anyway, let alone this new thing.
  12. I never went on it, but i saw the video on the DVDs. It looked a bit cheesy, but enjoyable in its own way. Besides, with all the "celebrities" featured in there, that thing was gonna get dated very quickly.
  13. Wow, that looks nice. I haven't been back to Kennywood in so long.
  14. I remember when I went on Raging Wolf Bobs at GL in the late 90's. I thought I was gonna die on that thing from the beating it gave me. I went on one of those swinging/looping things once, it was called the skymaster. I remember freaking out once it hung me upside down. I felt like it was never going to come back down. I like inversions and all, but not being held upside down like that.
  15. I'd have said Batman: The Escape at SFAW, but I think the thing did get repainted a year or two ago.
  16. I've never been to Coney, and I'm surprised people still go there, because I heard it's turned into a pretty seedy place. Ever seen that movie "The Warriors" where the gang made Coney their home turf? Yeah, that's the image I get when I think of the place now.
  17. Interesting...it looks a lot like one of the places where they shot the Japanese movie Kamen Rider Faiz: Paradise lost. An abandoned park was the home of the human liberation army.
  18. I've yet to be on a CCI or gravity group woodie, so I really don't understand what's so great about them as of right now. I always hear about how smooth they are...sounds to me like they're trying to make them more like steel coasters, though I'll admit that's speculation for me right now.
  19. I hate those Philips Laxative commercials where that woman has to let everyone know about her husbands poor bowel habits... "ARE YOU CONSTIPATED?" "HENRY, YOU LOOK CONSTIPATED!" God, that man must have the patience of a thousand saints to put up with that.
  20. No, we don't get spring up here in the North. Other regions have spring, and we have "Winter-lite".
  21. I have a: NES Sega Genesis Sega CD PLaystation Sega Dreamcast PS2 Game Boy Game Gear
  22. August 9th
  23. I think an update for Star Tours is a good idea, but I don't think thet should use anything from the prequels, because they just don't compare to the original tirlogy, at least the first two anyway. Getting off topic again, I know most aren't giving their hopes up, but I think Episode III could be the big redeemer for the prequel trilogy if they did it right. From the looks of the preview, Anakin has stopped being a crybaby, and we've got tons of action as well. Plus I hear the duel between Anakin and Obi-wan will be the longest ever put on film. Just the following changes would have made the prequels as a whole better, other than the obvious "Get rid of hayden and Jar-jar" cries. 1. Have Anakin start as Teenager in Episode 1. That would have made soooooo much more sense concerning certain things in Episode 2 (You know what I'm talking about...) 2. Cut out some of the political stuff. Star Wars fans, especially the casual ones, just don't care about what's causing all this strife. We could do with brief explanations in the original trilogy, and they should have stuck to the same strategy in the prequels. These films have a dynamic that need to be followed. 3. Just personal opinion, but they should have kept Darth Maul alive longer, at least until the end of Episode II. He was just really cool.
  24. I remember that episode! They even played that Simple Minds song ("Don't you (Forget about me)") at the end, with Peter raising his fist in the air at the football field a'la Judd Nelson.
  25. I just got the Japan-a-mania DVDs today, and I was looking at the video for Yomiuriland, when I found the following image, which I captured from the DVD here: http://photobucket.com/albums/y102/Movieguy80/?action=view&current=cap001.bmp Now, I happen to be an enthusiast of Tokusatsu, AKA Japanese live action shows, and the guys in the suits you caught were from the TV series Kamen Rider Blade, which ran through the year 2004 (See, in Japan, these shows are only made to last a year, then they're replaced with a new one) The Blue-suited fellow in the middle is Blade, the guy in the red to his right is his senior partner Kamen Rider Garren, and the guy to his left is the morally ambiguous Kamen Rider Leangle. There's a fourth rider named Chalice, who I didn't see in that brief shot. I collect these shows on DVD from a place in Hong Kong, which sells them at a good price. A lot of people would think it's just extremely stupid and silly like Power Rangers in the US here is, but I've sat and watched these shows, and to balance with the comedy, the Japanese versions have far more dark and violent material in them, and there's an actual danger of death for the main characters, as well as the supporting characters. For example, Garren's Alter ego, Tachibana Sakuya, witnesses both his girlfriend and his mentor getting killed inside of 5 episodes. Pretty intense stuff. Anyway, I just thought I'd let you all know about that.
