  1. Ack! bandwidth limit exceeded! I remember reading in this old book about all this cool themeing Dragon Mountain was going to have, and here I was thinking it was never gonna happen.
  2. hmmmmm...that could be Spiderman and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge...I used to have that for the Genesis, but I think it came out for the SNES too...
  3. It's like I've been saying, that's the music industry in a nutshell these days. It's all about finding dumb blonde southern girls to exploit. Not to offend any southerners on this board, but you know what I mean. But maybe that's just 'cause I'm bitter...if you've ever seen what most girls look like in Upstate NY, you'd know what I mean... Doug "I mean it, some of them even have more facial hair than the guys!" Booth
  4. Well, Roger Ebert did not like this movie at all...then again, he seems to have a prejudice against video game movies in general. http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060420/REVIEWS/60421001
  5. Easy. Contra for the NES.
  6. At last! A non-PG-13 video game movie that's not directed by Uwe Boll! I can't wait to see it!
  7. Of course chris and paris are in the bottom 3...THEY'RE TALENTED! Now, stay tuned for next week, where the girl who looks the most like Jessica simpson is allowed to stay on the show!
  8. And remember that idiot who was going on about how coasters were harmful, and supposedly had this whole study supporting it? I swear, they're not gonna be happy until coasters everywhere in the US are bogged down by restrictions, like they seem to be in countries like England.
  9. ^Well...I don't really mind going anywhere alone, but that's definitely something I'll consider for the future as well.
  10. I've been to CP many times before, but back then, my family had little choice but to visit in August, due to schedule conflicts, etc. Now that I can drive by myself (long story, but it took me a while to get my license.) I'm considering returning to this park for the first time since 2002, on a solo trip, probably some time after May. There's just a few things I'd like to know. Mind you, this isn't definite, its just an idea at this point. When is the best time in the summer to visit this park? I have a feeling crowds will be inevitable for a place like this. I just wonder if they're any lighter at certain times. Also, where's an ideal place for a solo tripper like me to stay? My family stayed a lot at the Sandcastle suites, but I think that's a bit out of my price range. Are any of the rooms at the breakers any less expensive, or is it all about the same price for all the in-park lodging?
  11. Well, thanks to that great link VsEuro put up, I'm now wondering about another piece of music... Near the end of that high-res video ( http://www.bobbejaan-online.be/v03/media/revo_premiere/revo_high_cap.wmv ), after the ride ends, you hear a neat little tecnho version of a piece of music I've heard many times before, one that's used a lot at weddings I think. What's it called exactly? Update: Never mind, I found it...it's "Canon in D" apparently
  12. Hmmm...I looked at all the videos, and it appears Revolution DID in fact use Bones on The Beach as music at one time. Interesting. And thank you for the archive. Nice to see Access2control.com again.
  13. Oh wow! Thanks for that link. I never dreamed that there was a site like this dedicated to the Revolution. Any website I can find on a unique indoor coaster is a treasure to me. and the videos are great. I can't really find much on Chaos though, except for an Opryland site that seems to be down right now.
  14. Well, a couple of people have said I remind them of John Lovitz... Aside from that, there's one other interesting thing that happens to me a lot...maybe it's because I'm short and stocky, and have short dark hair, but a lot of people tend to think I'm Itallian when they look at me...and I'm not...there's not an ounce of Itallian blood in my family...I'm English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Dutch, German, and Swedish...nothing Mediterranian. I even had a college professor who thought I was Itallian. When I told her that there was no evidence of anyone mediteranian in my family, she said "Well, you never know...there were a lot of Spanish sailors who got shipwrecked in England."...
  15. There used to be an entire website dedicated to Chaos called access2control.com, that had all kinds of information. Unfortunately the site went down a long time ago, with a promise of a return that never happened. I already knew the piece wasn't Michael Hoenig's "Bone's on The beach" because that's the music they used for Chaos rather than Revolution. And indeed, it did start off with the theme of a clock, as well as many other impressive effects, including a bullseye made of lasers at the end... But, this became a little too expensive and time-consuming to maintain, mainly because so many considerate American riders were bringing cups onto the ride with them and dropping them on the screen below. So, it was decided to change the coaster into the whole reactor theme.
  16. I just rented some more old episodes at Hollywood Video. "Ghost Light" from the Sylvester McCoy years. "Twin Dilemma" and "The Two Doctors" from the Colin Baker years. "Earthshock" from the Peter Davison years. There's also plenty more of the Tom Baker years available, which I'll get to in good time. It's funny, because until now, I only knew Tom Baker as the guy who played the evil magician from "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad"...I had no idea that he was the same guy who played the longest running, and it seems the all-time favorite of the Doctor's incarnations.
  17. I recently found something quite rare. An onride video of Bobbejaanland's bizarre indoor coaster, Revolution, which was the inspiration for Chaos at the former Opryland park, as some may remember. you can find it on this page: http://www.3erloooping.de/video.html Anyway, as the ride was going along, this classical music suddenly started playing in the background...and I swear I've heard that composition someplace before. Is there anyone here who can tell me the name of this piece, and possibly its composer?
  18. A question to all you Dr. Who fans on this board. Which actor who's played the Doctor would you say is your all-time favorite? Having just started looking through some episodes, I can't really make a judgement, but Tom Baker seems to be the perrinial favorite among enthusiasts. He certainly had the longest run of all the doctors... Though I've heard other opinions...like Peter Davison was pretty good in his short run, and some even say that Colin Baker was never really given a chance, a victim of sub-par stories, and an even worse outfit. I saw a clip recently of Cristopher Eccelston's doctor regenerating into David Tennant. In that brief moment, it seems to me that Mr. Tennant is trying to channel a little Tom Baker into his performance. Whether or not that's a good thing remains to be seen.
  19. hmmmmm...sounds like this is a well themed park that's missing just one vital ingredient...perhaps a visit from the Beemer fairy is in order.
  20. Well, I didn't mean an appearance-wise resemblance. I just read that the cybermen are actual humans who fitted robotic parts over their decaying bodies, and I guess they go around making other certain men into Cybermen (Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not terribly familiar with all this show's aspects) That just sounds a lot like the Borg to me.
  21. Does anyone else here think the Cybermen were the inspiration for the Borg?...
  22. "Mmmmmmm...yummy yummy crap!" I laughed so hard at that ending, and the rest of the episode was gold. I think the guys at Family Guy have always acknowledged the stupidity and randomness of their humor, and they wear that as a badge of honor. Sure, they throw in a lot of random pop-culture stuff, but that's what a lot of people like, and they're good at getting you to laugh at it. I really do think that this storyline was more about Matt and Trey responding to censorship in general rather than bashing Family Guy.
  23. Well, I just rented some of the Tom Baker episodes of this series from the 1970's, and I have to say, this is the kind of show that grows on you. Sure, the effects are laughably dated, but it's wildly imaginative. It'll be interesting to see how this new incarnation of a franchise that's been in Britain since 1963 works out.
  24. I saw some videos of this place thanks to a link on one of the other boards, and this place looks pretty neat. I don't know how good the rides are, but it certainly all looks very well themed. Has anyone on this forum actually been to this place, in between visits to Warner Park Madrid and Port Aventura? Is it as nice as it looks on the videos?
  25. That ride looks insane. I saw one of those things working one time at the NYS Fair, but it was only there for one season.
