  1. Where I've never seen a DJ, by the way.
  2. Loch Ness Monster. It was only my second coaster, my first being BBW.
  3. Paramount also never lubricated the track on the woodies, but RY was slick as bliss the other day. I was stunned. I shed tears of joy.
  4. Holy crap. Those pictures are amazing.
  5. Yep. Now if only Predator, SOB, J2, GhostRider, Voyage, etc. would join Villain in the coaster afterlife. OK, out of all of those, I've only been on Villain, Ghostrider and Voyage. If you're going to insist on putting Ghostrider and Voyage in the same category of hell as Villain, then I shall be forced to refer to you, sir, as a nincompoop. Maybe I caught Ghostrider on a good day. Yes, Voyage is too intense to ride 4,000 times in a row. But I wanted off the Villain before I even got to the lift. It was so bad it made me mad. My teeth ache thinking about it and I had low expectations to begin with.
  6. I never get 'necessary' right on the first try. Or 'occasionally.' I don't find 'antidisestablishmentarianism' difficult at all. You spell it just like it sounds. Now 'floccinaucinihilipilification' is a little tricky...
  7. Scott, I've been meaning to compliment you on your PMW. You shall now be called PeemerBoy.
  8. In ten years, a dramatic increase in personal injury lawsuits will make coasters look more like monorails with OTSRs.
  9. I think these three rides could add a much needed dose of atmosphere to that area of the park. Especially El Dorado right next to the old Happy Days which is now something else...It could all work together to create a "back in time" themed area.
  10. But the dip has kind of an s-bend to it that makes it special. Plus, if you're on it, it means you're at Holiday World and what's better than that? Robbie "fanboy" Crockett
  11. The Voyage has a cool pre lift section, but it's hard to remember it since the post-lit section kills so many brain cells.
  12. I live about 25 minutes from King's Dominion and have had a season pass the last several years. A couple of years ago, a girl at the season passholder window told me, "Excuse me, but I'm 'a have to aks you to get a life." That's how many times I've been.
  13. Discomfort is one thing, injury is another. I'm not saying I don't feel bad for the people who were stuck. But people do tend to blow these things out of proportion.
  14. Ah, good ol' neck and shoulder injuries. Difficult to disprove and they pay so well.
  15. 1. Try to figure out where they're going to put Head Spin. 2. Make sure to ride Afterburn again and again, but call it Top Gun and sing "Take my breath away" by Berlin each time you walk down the exit. 3. I seem to remember they have some really good pizza there. P.S. Dominator is not a parking lot coaster by any means. Don't be jealous.
  16. Ok, that makes sense. I was there on Monday the 30th and the place was a ghost town. I wondered if maybe the special event had cleared out at 5:00 or something. Incidentally, operations on Monday were phenomenal. The park was clean, lines were moving, two trains everywhere I went. Rebel Yell was running both sides and racing. There were TWO bar checkers on each side. This is much better than any other visit I've had so far this season.
  17. Umm, I think the very presence of a fence says, "We don't want you to walk through here." Then add a sign that says "Danger" for those who are rebellious. Then take out a liability insurance policy for people who are stupid.
  18. I agree with Erik. Silver Bullet is the way to go. I remember it being pretty easy. After that, Ghostrider in the last non-axle seat. If he survives that, pop the question. Why not? You seem like a modern girl.
  19. I rode Gladiator's Gauntlet! I'd forgotten all about that thing. I'm thinking '88 might have been my first trip to Busch Gardens. It was a marching band trip. BBW was my first grown up coaster evar.
  20. I got evac'd from the brake run on KD's Shockwave a long time ago. It was pretty cool, but I didn't fully appreciate it. I got stuck on the lift of Rebel Yell once, during a zen ride. Someone came up and asked if I wanted to be walked down the lift hill or just wait until they restarted it. I was really torn. I wanted both so badly. I ended up waiting and took the zen. I waved at all the maintenance guys who were walking the backward side (this was right at opening). Fun times. I was stuck on Deja Vu at SFA for about twenty minutes when we overshot the station at the end of the ride. They had to do some maintenance guy magic to get the floor to come up and then manually release us from the OTSRs.
  21. If I remember correctly, Stengel Engineering is responsible for the very concept of the the plug-n-play woodie. P.S. I'm the real Robbie!!!
  22. Those are some great pictures. I think the yellow loop is pretty geh, but I do like the overall scheme of Dominator. Nards = my new favorite word of the week.
  23. Yes. They should change the coaster's name and logo again.
  24. I have to wonder if the Norton people were warned in advance by the Cedar Fair people that there were going to be some gravy-sucking troublemakers who might handcuff themselves to the Big Dipper in protest. He seemed rather prepared for the outburst.
