Because we live in a society where people have realized that if they complain enough, they'll get whatever they want from businesses. Most places are managed by completely clueless idiots that rarely leave their desks, and spend their days napping and looking at goat porn in the internet, and really don't care what abuses the front line people take as long as the cash (and their bonuses) keep rolling in. They're so afraid a customer will post a complaint to Yelp or Facebook or whatever that might threaten their bottom line (and more importantly, their bonus), they just bend over to whatever insane demand the latest crazy person is making, rather than occasionally telling some malcontent that no, the rules do actually apply to them, and telling them to go pound sand instead of giving into their insane demands. This is sad, but this is what happens when you have a society that tells everyone they're an unique individual special snowflake. I personally wish more companies would have a backbone and stand up to these people. I certainly try to patronize businesses that don't let the crazy walk all over them. dt

Silverwood Discussion Thread

Haha, I forgot all about those rides! I actually saw the one at SFGAdv run once. It was like spotting Bigfoot! Seems like a cool addition for Silverwood. I still need to visit this park some day. dt -

The official NFL Discussion Thread

Wow, pretty easy to get into the Superbowl when you face two playoff opponents that totally give up early in the game. No reason that the Falcons should have lost hat game. Cowards dt -

Lava Monster rules, and should be somehow incorporated into every ride. dt -
This is just a horrible idea. I can see no positive outcome if this happens. Well, maybe if they have to shut down/sell Six Flags America to somehow make a deal happen. But other than that, I'm pretty sure my cats would do a better job of running the Sea World parks than anyone associated with Six Flags or Apollo. dt

Beautiful. Aquatopia rules! dt -
I've always felt a coaster should be considered on how it runs throughout the season, not just on a special day when the moon is in a certain position in the sky or whatever. One of the reasons I like Balder and Phoenix so much is that I've ridden both in all sorts of weather conditions and times of the year, and they deliver a consistently kick ass ride every time. On the other hand, a coaster that delivers a terrible ride similar to being pushed off a cliff while inside a trash can is not something I'd rate very highly, special rides on a special day or not. As always, this is just my dumb opinion. dt

If he was related to her, my bet is he would have disowned her by now. I know nothing about the current president of SFMM, but Ice Bat would certainly be tolerating zero nonsense. Tatsu employees would fear his "Employee Motivational Shark Pit", which would certainly cut down on the five minute plus dispatch times. He would change the name to "Ice Bat's Park Of Difficult Situations & Dire Consequences". Guest satisfaction would not possibly be any worse than it is now. dt

There is no such thing as a bad photo from Tokyo Disney Sea. Still the most amazing park ever. dt -
Always fun to read the results. Can't argue with #1, and it continues to amaze me why more of these coasters have not been built. The only thing that sticks out to me is the continued over-hype of Voyage. It is no where near a Top 10 coaster. It gave one of the worst coaster rides of my life the last time I rode it. Like Ghostrider level bad. I don't get this either. Troy has always been vastly overrated for some reason. Your theory might be right. dt
