  1. For this you should be thankful. Many people that have met me have needed years of intensive therapy afterwards. I do stuff like this all the time. I have to amuse myself somehow. Plus, people need to be educated about the wonders of the Heat/Snow Miser song! It's almost as good as Opeth... dt
  2. So far, for the ones I've viewed, Jew takes the prize! I was dying during that one, even though I had an idea what his video editing "inspiration" would be. Wes, yours was pretty cool too, though Premiere transitions don't look too good when used in such low res video. You did a good job of matching the music though, and had a couple of good laughs in it, so good job. You might have taken the contest if you had somehow worked the Wisconsin State Fair, Dio and/or Ron Jeremy into it, though... I'll be posting critiques of the other ones after I watch them a couple of times. dt
  3. Knoebel's pizza is the best ever, with the pizza at DelGrosso's coming in second. Most overrated? Holiday World. dt
  4. I rode it and remember liking it. The ride was at a really out of the way location, and you really had to know that it was back there. I don't think many people just wandering around the park would stumble upon it. dt
  5. It is one thing to say your parks are "Clean Safe Fun". It is entirely another thing for the parks to actually BE these three things! Saying this as a slogan and not backing it up with drastic changes to how the parks are operated will be pointless. It's sort of like putting "now with a great new taste" on a bottle of Drano. Saying it doesn't make it so. Will Snyder and his new team make the effort to make the parks "Clean Safe Fun"? There wasn't anything in the original proposal on how they're going to improve the absolutely horrible customer service at your average SF park, so they really have their work cut out for them. I remain cautiously optimistic... dt
  6. This made me laugh for some reason. The next contest should be nothing but lift hill and brake run POV. dt
  7. I think this show really needs to have me on as a guest. I could probably tell some good stories, like about the first time I met Elissa... dt
  8. At least there won't be any Wisconsin State Fair footage tainting the whole production... dt
  9. This photo TR has already been one of the best ever, but to find out that the ax murdering duck has a sidekick has pushed it into Hall Of Fame status! And I'm also not much of a fan of parades. We did see the one at WDW for Halloween, but we sat down like five minutes before it started, which made it OK. I'm not into the whole "camp out fora spot" part... dt
  10. My list is different, as most of my gaming has been on computers. I never owned a console system until the original Genesis. No particular order except the first one: Total Annihilation (GREATEST GAME EVER!) Dungeon Master Marble Madness (I still want one of these machines) Quake Half Life 2 Warzone 2100 Galaga Zork Starcraft Guantlet Tough to pick just ten. I notice the majority of these are older, except for HL2. They don't make games (especially RTS games) like they used to... dt
  11. The only reason I clicked on this thread was my thinking that Wes would post, and it would be amusing. I was not wrong... dt
  12. There's a Denny's in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, which is pretty much right at the bottom of the hill of SFMM, right after you go under the freeway. dt
  13. I used to live near Pasadena, and the local hotels used to seriously jack up the rates to insane levels around Rose Parade/Bowl time. Something to keep in mind... dt
  14. Typhoon is horrible, the employees were rude, and the park is a dump. It would probably be safer to take kids for a visit to a nuclear reactor during a meltdown. Sorry, but some places just don't deserve to stay open. This was one. dt
  15. Public transportation in LA is, um, not really good. I suppose there might be a way to take a bus to SFMM, but I'd imagine it would take about three days. Each way. You really need to rent a car. As for hotels, there are a couple right around the park. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn right at the bottom of the hill, and it was fine. There are a couple of other hotels right in the same area, and a bunch of restaurants, so you shouldn't have trouble finding somewhere to stay. dt
  16. The signature move GODDAMN OWNS! Nice to see you posting here, Adam. dt
  17. Is Holliwood Nights a Ride World event, or a park sponsored event, like SRM was? dt
  18. I sure do! I have a Dell from '98 that is still running on my network. I have older computers than that, but they're not connected as they'd need new hard drives. I can understand the whole "no need to change" idea. I stick to that somewhat, though I do usually update software. Though Premiere Pro is not all that much more amazing that Premiere 5, so there really is no reason to jump to the new version. I started using Firefox because IE was crashing a lot. I've been happy with it, but I look at it the same way I look at Operating Systems or most software: as long as it does what it is supposed to do, and doesn't annoy me, I'll keep using it. I just want to look at stuff on the web, and as long as whatever browser I'm using is stable, that's all I really care about. People that rant on and on about Firefox or Linux or anything else usually irritate the hell out of me, and like Robb, will turn me off from looking at the product. Which is why I will never, ever buy an Ipod, and will stick with Dell MP3 players... dt
  19. Seeing as how the park already has the GREATEST SHOOTING RIDE EVER, they will have to work hard to try and match that level of quality... dt
  20. I think that having more people vote in the poll can only help the results. Do I totally agree with the results. Well no, not totally, but I still think this is the best poll oout there. It's certainly better than the Golden Tickets which seem to only be voted on by people that have never left Ohio. Balder deserves the #1 spot. Ghost Rider doesn't deserve a Top 20 spot. Hades and Avalance are certainly Top 10 rides. I thought Colossus would have ranked higher than it did. And I personally ranked Tonnare De Zeus in my Top 10, based on the absolutely INSANE rides we got on it on our visit in July. Word has it that the ride doesn't normally run like that, and we lucked out with the rain earlier in the day. I can only rank rides from when I ride them, though, and thought they were some of the best coaster rides ever. But I guess the years of rough riding for almost everyone else will keep it down in the poll. And I agree, I don't get why anyone likes The Brake, err, The Beast. Talk about overrated... dt
  21. OK, now I'm looking forward to the trip photos... dt
  22. That was awesome. Derek needs to provide the soundtrack to more rides! dt
  23. I've been using Firefox for months and have had ZERO problems with this site. dt
  24. On a serious note, this just shows how lame ACE is. They have a video contest, but does anyone that's not there get a chance to see the videos, even the winning ones? Nope. This is the first time I recall one being made for sale. At least some other places that hold video contests let you download them and get a DVD out with all the entries so as many people as possible can enjoy them, not just a few people. Ah well... dt
  25. I am disturbed on many, many different levels. *shudder* dt
