  3. That seriously looks like the most terrifying thing ever. Of course, I have sworn to never, ever ride an enclosed slide ever again, so I'm likely not the target audience. I salute anyone that is brave enough to try this. dt
  4. These various reports on the antics of Big Mike are cracking me up. Great job. Looking forward to the next installment. dt
  5. Orlando all the way. Since you also want to do Universal, their parks in Orlando are far superior to the park in LA. dt
  6. I've only been to SFoG once, and Mindbender was closed (stupid rain!). I need to get back there some day, as this really looks like a ride I would totally love. dt
  7. 5 Guy's Burgers & Fries destroys all other burger places. And White Castle is totally one of those "love it or hate it" types of places. And there are enough people that love it that they stay in business. While I'm not a fan of the burgers, watching Robb & Joey devour a Crave Case full of them one night was amusing. I just watched the video again and laughed even more this time. Really looking forward to the new DVD! dt
  8. I think the expression on KidTum's face pretty much sums up the White Castle experience. Do they still have those fish balls or whatever they're called on the menu? Those things were awesome. dt
  9. Cool pics, especially the tiger ones. Cats rule. The whole area looks nice. Thanks for the report. dt
  10. Our season seats for Orioles games are on the third base side, on the club level. Been sitting in the same spot for the last five seasons, and we really like the view from there. It would be nice to occasionally see a winning team, of course, but this is not something you can hope for a lot when watching the O's... dt
  11. OK, I just deleted some posts. Please try to stay on topic and avoid pointless bickering. Also, everyone should review the Posting Rules at the top of the main forum, especially the one about the use of proper spelling and grammar. Thank you for understanding. dt
  12. ^OK, that cracked me up! I'm still stuck on the whole "sea monster" idea that someone else mentioned. That would rock so hard. There are not enough attractions with sea monsters. It is a sadly under-represented amusement park ride genre. Hopefully SW will reverse this trend and build a ride with all sorts of tentacled things menacing the riders. The above is probably why I'm not in charge of installing park attractions... dt
  13. I haven't read the article yet, but if he rips on The Great Movie Ride, which is one of the most horrible attractions ever, I certainly approve of that. If he also rips on Stitch and/or Imagination, he should be recommended for a Pulitzer. Not everything Disney builds is a quality attraction. dt
  14. Can we throw in some "Built this City?" You are very wise. Six Flags totally needs to hire you, me and Wes to program the TVs. Peoplle would hang out all day just to watch the entertainment, and not even care if they get on rides, which cuts down on the upkeep and helps SF make even more money. They're sitting on a potential gold mine here! dt
  15. ^I think if you alternate between Price and The Final Countdown, then you'd have something awesome. Perhaps too awesome for humans, though. We may not have yet evolved far enough to survive such an experience. dt
  16. ^^Because a site with 20,000+ members would likely lead to a good number of people using "questionable" titles, which would make more work for the mods. The Title Fairy method seems to be working just fine, I think. dt
  17. ^Yeah, I'm going to agree. I've been buying the 10 day no expire tickets for awhile, and have been really happy with them. I have not found it to be a hassle at all. One time I was down there I got a free three day ticket for attending a convention (perks for press rule!), and that was a separate one, so I just carried both. No big deal. And I can totally understand the "stay in a room/buy admission" for the meal plan, because otherwise it would be chaos. Plus, I think it's a good thing to give people that stay on property something extra that you cannot get if you don't stay there. I still wish they'd go to making your room key a Fastpass if you stay at one of the upper end hotels. Maybe someday... dt
  18. Just as I was posting "Official Updates" and "News And Other Stuff", you post this. Which is better than what I came up with. So count me as a vote for "excellent - go with those." dt
  19. Williamsburg is not a tourist trap. It's a rather impressive historical display. But it sounds like you're looking for more outdoors stuff, so it may not be right for you. There is a good amount of white water rafting in VA, but it's not going to be free or cheap. Though there may be some self-guided tours that would be cheaper. I'm not familiar with any state/national parks in the Williamsburg area, but going to Skyline Drive might be something for you to look into. dt
  20. ^Sorry, the last couple of times I've been there I've had bad experiences. Large crowds full of unruly patrons (lots of line jumping, random cursing, shoving, reminded me of the crowds SFMM used to get in the '90's when I visited the park on a weekly basis), coasters not even remotely run to capacity (one train full, one train emplty on Jaguar with a 30 minute line. Yeah, that makes sense), rides not maintained (Ghostrider, previously one of the best wooden coasters anywhere has been allowed to turn into a device that could be used to torture information out of prisoners), and anything unique and interesting removed in favor of concrete and trash cans. Seriously, it's a step above King's Island for me at this point. I guess I'm just not much of a fan of Cedar Fair branding... dt
  21. The old Knott's was one of the best parks in the country, and was a place I'd visit every year. The CF Knott's is one of the worst parks in the US, and if never get back there, I'm not going to be very upset. All the charm and atmosphere it totally stripped from the place. Kind of sad, really. dt
  22. Always a favorite. dt
  23. And this is my main complaint about Ohana's. Two out of the three times I've been there the service has been horrible, and it's because it was a large party were the tip was going to be added to the check, so of course the waiter put in zero effort at our table. I now know to bring a bottle of water with me, as getting more than one glass here seems almost impossible. I've never used the dining plan, and I'm not sure that I would. Seems like it gives a lot more food in the day than I'd normally eat. I'd have to sit down and really calculate whether or not it would save me any money. But I certainly do enjoy the more upscale restaurants at WDW. dt
