Geauga Lake Discussion Thread

If you read the recently posted article about the Starliner being moved, the people involved with that said the project would cost around two million dollars. That coaster was operating recently, and has not been sitting somewhere rotting. I'd guess to actually revive the BD you're talking twice that amount, IF any of it could even be salvaged at this point. This plan is beyond dumb and is an amazing joke. I love all the excuses in the forum post, "Oh, I'm busy", "Oh, I didn't have time to make a website", "Oh, we have no business experience". This plan has about as much chance of succeeding as my cats developing a working spaceship. dt -
Every time I have been to HHN, I always say "I would so love to be a chainsaw guy for a night". This looked like amazing fun, and is something I would LOVE to do. Wish I would have been there to see this! Really liked the "makeup process" photos, and yeah, a reality show based around this would be great. They'd just need to figure out a way to work in multiple babies, little people, and cupcake making in order to sell it... dt

Well, since the plans are all "sekret" and involve some sort of blood ritual to allow them to be revealed to the True Believers, and all we really have to go on is a website that Geocities would have been embarrassed to host in 1995, what do you realistically expect? And if you cannot see the difference between a businessman taking over a park with a realistic plan (and MONEY) and a plan that involves getting random enthusiasts to borrow mom's car and come out to use their hammers on a wooden structure that would require very careful planning, specialized equipment, and MONEY to do properly, then I'm not sure what else anyone can say. Personally, I find this to be the most amusing thing to go on in the theme park world since Hard Rock Scam, err Park was "operating". Keep the laughs coming, please! dt -

This has all the validty of one of those internet petitions. And we all know how well those work out. Seriously, this is not going to happen. I've worked around coasters, and I really don't think most people understand how complicated they are. They are not just a bunch of boards nailed together that you can show up with some hammers and mom's minivan and just knock it down and move it elsewhere. They're complex pieces of machinery that would require people skilled in surveying, carpentry, mechanical work and many, many other technical skills to even have a chance to pull this off. So far, it's two people and a website that my cat could have put together in an afternoon. Oh yes, I know, there are all sorts of "sekret plans" and people involved. I used to work at a major game company and write their press releases. Do you know what would happen to me (or anyone at a serious company) if I put out a press release about a new project with no actual details and said "we have many secret plans that will be revealed soon"? I'd be cleaning out my desk five minutes later. Real business does not run on "dreams". Yeah, sure, you dream or imagine a product or whatever, but then there's a ton of hard work done by people with required skills. Everyone thinks that working at a park or video game company or whatever is all fun and games and requires no skill at all. These people are wrong. And these people never listen to someone like Robb or Elissa or Joey (or me, but hell, I know no one ever listens to me!) about this, people that have combined DECADES of experience with all sorts of major projects. I know I'm talking to a lot of people that have their fingers in their ears and don't want to deal with reality, but I'm going to say it again: With the information we have now, there is NO WAY this is going to be successful. None. But then, since I have years and years of experience in the entertainment industry, I really have no idea what I'm talking about, right?!? dt -

I can't imagine why Elissa didn't ride the spinning batman with Robb, Joe, and Joey. She is the No Fun Girl! This seriously almost killed me. I'm still laughing. dt -
This blows. I hate Southwest. I like knowing where I'm going to sit before getting to the airport, and being able to pay $20 extra for an exit row seat, two things I'm sure SW will get rid of. Boo! dt

I have this horrible cold/flu thing, and have been coughing so much that I've actually injured my ribs. Watching this did not help, as I was laughing so hard I choked. These videos are amazing. The gun one might be the funniest video ever. Piers totally needs his own TV show. I hope there are more of these! dt -

^^Yeah, that part would bother me too. You should see the temperature that I keep my pool at my Outer Banks house set to! I guess on a really hot summer day, it wouldn't be as bad. But this is something I'd almost HAVE to do. Sharks are awesome. And should eat more people. dt -

You can swim with sharks?!? I really need to visit this place. Though it would be a thousand times better if the sharks were in all the pools. And they were all a minimum of twenty feet long. And constantly hungry. I may have to suggest this idea to the park... dt -
This is still the greatest thing ever, and would still make an amazing TV show. I am in awe. dt

IKEA Lets Loose a Herd of 100 Cats Into Store
Meteornotes replied to Jds03's topic in Random, Random, Random
They should re-do this, but only put Angus McNasty in the store, and then see how long before the place is on fire. dt -
Again, that was pretty good. Since the next part will be Part 3, I demand a tribute to Piranha 3D, since it also has the number 3 in the title, Just in case you didn't realize how they tied in together. And your description of Shakonocoma is about twelve billion times more interesting than the actual show. In fact, they should just play this video in the theater. dt

This was pretty good, but the next part better have some sharks in it. That will help it to not disappoint like most sequels. Especially if they're driving in a NASCAR race. dt
