  1. Most of the time I'm silent, just grinning like an idiot. If some element of the 'coaster surprises me, or I enjoy it a lot, I'll generally laugh; occasionally, if it's a surprise, I'll half-laugh-half-scream.
  2. Great update - love how the lords and ladies are exactly the same 'models', just with slightly different light configurations. Mike 'really not THAT geeky about details' Moody
  3. Being a Disney geek, I listen to a few Disney 'casts, weekly; also the MuppetCast. Used to listen to Mugglecast and Musicaltalk regularly, but now only really when they have an interesting topic.
  4. I attempted to do the same events last week - I say 'attempted', 'cause nothing at the O2 was open. Hyde Park, however, was amazing. Loved the Suspended Mouse, Spuk was great (a bit 'touchy-feely', though!)..but the highlight was DEFINITELY Pirates Adventure. The rocking galley with only ropes to hold on to..the crap soundsystem..the unsynchronised animatronics..the final scene in general. Loved it.
  5. Playing The Saboteur on Xbox 360..it's more enjoyable than the reviews had me expect.
  6. So while in London, I saw (in order, Tuesday through to today) Hairspray, Oliver!, and Billy Elliot. Hairspray was excellent, got £25 front row seats. Phill Jupitus (UK'ers will know the name) was playing Edna, and was great fun to watch, and cool at the stage door afterwards. One new highlight for me (having seen the show before) was noticing all sorts of cool little details in what the ensemble was doing, whilst the attention was not directly on them. The girl understudying Penny was hilarious all the way through. Also, fantastic voices from the understudy for Seaweed (lovely, gravelly, '60s voice), and the guy playing Corny Collins. --- Oliver!: had been avoiding this for what seems like an age, since I'm not a fan of gunshots when they're in my vicinity, and..well, everyone knows how Bill Sikes meets his end. What, you don't? He gets shot. Surprise. Anyway, with beating heart and ever-more-sweaty palms (not making this up; I really am this neurotic about sudden loud noises), I sat through what was actually an excellent show, and one that I will definitely be seeing again, not least because Louise Gold (the only British Muppeteer on the Muppet Show, no less) was playing two fairly small parts, and she's a lovely person. Got a hug off her at stage door, which made my year, pretty much. A hug from an actual Muppeteer? Get in. And the gunshot wasn't that bad. And Omid Djalili (again, UK'ers) was pretty good as Fagin, and was lovely at stage door. --- Billy Elliot: seen this a few times, good repeatability factor because a) you (generally) always see a different Billy, Michael, Debbie and Ballet Girl ensemble every time, and b) the regulars (the familiar faces always seen in the first two rows) are just great fun to be with. I was initially sat in row B, but the Victoria Palace was pretty quiet (comparatively speaking), so at interval/intermission, I moved to the seat in front. Billy Elliot in front row is one of my favourite theatrical experiences, and I don't care that you can't see anyone's feet. Great show.
  7. I think I've seen around 40 different performances (rather than different shows), musical theatre-wise, over the last 4 years.
  8. Those pictures are (in a snowy theme park way) beautiful, and accompanying them with the lyrics to my favourite Christmas song made my day. Thanks for posting!
  9. Going down to London on Tuesday - aiming to see Billy Elliot and Hairspray, if possible.
  10. Horizons (Epcot) Exit Area Music, on Mouseworld Radio. Mike 'really not that much of a Disney geek' Moody

  12. That version of the UK (also featuring the canal/narrowboat, which I don't think exists currently) looks a lot more interesting, and slightly more realistic, than the current.
  13. Badman's Song - Tears for Fears
  14. New York New Jersey Florida Illinois California
  15. 5/4 - Gorillaz
  16. Oh right, sorry, got a bit confused there. Having seen it far too many times, I'm on a (relaxing) break from going to see Wicked, but I'm still always interested to hear what people going for the first time think.
  17. After the years of obsession, what did you think? And who were your Elphie/Glinda?
  18. The Queen Is Dead - The Smiths
  19. The Tubes - White Punks on Dope
  20. That is the cutest thing. Elephants are pretty much my favourite animal, so thanks for posting these!
  21. Went to Legoland Windsor, and got two new credits.
  22. This thread is brilliant. Now that I appear to be safely on the IntimidaTour, I'll be watching any and all of your Dollywood posts - it looks like an awesome park. I really hope we get to see at least some of the rest of Pigeon Forge, too - either way, I hope to be able to go one day and experience a lot of the things I've seen in this thread - I love Americana and sketchy attractions.
  23. ^ I'm hoping my Orlando trip will close with a ride on the newly re-opened (opening again the day before we leave) Space Mountain.
  24. Staying on Terminator: Salvation 16 times in a row. Getting mildly excited, because when the exit road out of Legoland Windsor got blocked by three seperate accidents last night, the bus back to Windsor station took a shortcut through the park's 'backstage' service road.
