  1. Walmart isn't really that much more promissing, as I said I've have it ordered through them for about a year and a half now, and still havn't got it. Only thing different for me between Wal-Mart and Amazon is Wal-Mart actually emails me from time to time, saying its not out yet. I just ordered it today from Border's they said they didn't know when it would be in, and that they'd send a postcard when it came in...Only thing is that the price is about double from what Amazon and Wal-Mart are asking. So now that I've had it ordered on Amazon for 2 and a half years, Wal-Mart for 1 and a half, and just Borders today, we'll see who pulls through first...now accepting bets too
  2. These are the two Six Flags fonts: ITC Kabel Bold ITC Kabel Demi One is the main 6 Flags font, and the other is like the smaller one that they put like Great America, and Magic Mountain. I have yet to find them for free on the net, as all font sites all lead to the same one. But if your ever in the need of any font. I totally recommend this site, What the Font You can upload a picture with text in it, and it actually searches for that specific font based on the font in the pictures. Its really cool and amazing.
  3. ^^^ But isn't that what parks really want is something that is proven that works? It's always cool to be the "first" to have something, but sometimes being the first with something that doesn't work or no one likes, isn't going to draw in the big crowds.
  4. Yea I have tried Barnes and Noble, they said it wasn't in their system, therefore them looking at me like I just made up some random book.
  5. I think there is little future for the S&S/Arrow 4D only because of the problems with X at SFMM. I mean it has to be hard to sell, because of all the problems they keep having, and I'm sure S&S just saying that they've worked them all out, isn't enough to get a park to spend a few million.
  6. I have this book ordered on Amazon for about two years now, and on Walmart's website for 1 year, and have not gotten anything from either of them. Whenever i email Amazon about it and ask when its comming out they just say that they don't know, and say their sorry. I really want this book! I saw one on EBAY once go for $100.00. So Borders huh? What have I gotta do there ask for it, and they'll order it?
  7. Yea Cedar Points blog is pretty dumb, they just tried to copy Holiday World without much success. Oh well, watch this announcement not be about the ride, it will be about something stupid. Hopefully their adding something else and not having all this hype for one swing.
  8. Ever waterslide there is a ProSlide, even the ones on the Play Structure by Koala Playgroup. I have always wished that more of the ProSlide Octopus Racers (what you called the "Revised Mat Slide") were built they are so fun and so neat looking. Sorry I'm in the industry so I always use the terms...HAHA I know ProSlide has a concept they are pitching right now that has 2 Tornados built into the same slide...Although I dont know if Six Flags is looking into it, but I'm positive that they have the concept out there.
  9. My biggest one is those people asking you if you want your picture taken when you first get in...nothing annoys me more then that at a park
  10. Well, that sounds like it could have some truth to it, I think I'd totally believe it
  11. Your totally right about the guy who sold the trash cans...you have no idea how expensive a trash can actually is. At my park I've seen the catalogues with prices and almost fell out of my chair. Everything that you think wouldn't be that expensive, in the amusement park industry its expensive.
  12. Disney did a study a number of years ago and they concluded that the average distance a patron would walk with a piece of trash before dropping it to the groud was around 12 feet. Cedar Fair just really took it to heart I guess... Plus the more cans you have the less likely they are to get overfilled.
  13. HAHA I agree with robb, that is funny. But now its closed for the rest of the season, so good thing you got on it when you had the chance. They had to order a part or something, well at least thats what CP's blog says...
  14. Yea the park hasn't officially announced that their getting a ProSlide Tornado yet, but I'm about positive that they will have one next year.
  15. Maude Flanders- "I don't think that we should be talking about s-&-x in front of the c-h-i-l-d-r-e-n" Krusty- "S&x Culdren, I thought they closed that place down"
  16. I'm pretty convinced that its a ScreamSwing based on that picture from the parking lot that you mentioned...it look exactly like the top piece. That makes no sense to me, because they already have the Huss Topspin that they added this year, and its the same thing basically. It just makes no sense at all...
  17. Yeah the show is pretty big, and expensive to get into. It doesn't matter if your a member or not its expensive (although a bit cheaper if you are a member) Like said earlier, its a tradeshow with companies trying to get new clients, not just answer a bunch of questions. A few people from my park usually get to go, and hopefully one day they'll ask me. Although my odds are better in getting asked to go to the WWA show (World Waterpark Association) which is also a trade show and expensive to get in to...this year its was $300 for a member, $500 for a non-member, and that just gets you into the trade show, it doesn't include any seminars. You can also take various classes and gets different certifications, and yup you guessed it...its extra $$$ too.
  18. HAHA I know what you mean Cerberus...that was the frist thing I said when I found out about it...is think about all the publicity we could get. News, TV, etc....
  19. Hey people, I've been meaning to post this all summer but I was extremenly busy with work. But now that the "off-season" is here for now (we're opening up in November for ice skating) I have some free time. For those of you that don't know, I work at Deep River Waterpark, which is located in Crown Point, IN (about 45 min from downtown Chicago) Anyways like any park we always get email from our customers, and one day we recieved an email from someone in the great state of Wisconsin, and they basically said that they visited the park a lot growing up, and were wondering if we would be able to help them acheive a dream. Their dream was that they wanted us to fill up our lazy river, and or, one of our slides, and run it with nothing but cheese, they said it had always been a dream of theirs to swim in cheese. They said that they would be willing to cover all expenses. So we really couldn't allow this as the cost would be way to high, as 500,000 gallons (lazy river size) of cheese isn't very cheap, not to mention the disposal, clean up, and the damage to the filitration system that would happen if we tried to run a slide. Anyways I just wanted to share that with you guys, and hopefully you'll get a kick out of it...
  20. For those of you interesting...CP's blog today is about an "unexpected delivery" that apparently came in on Tuesday...theres no pictures, and it says it is "off-limits"...it also mentions that it is "something big and blue" I really dont think its a Screamin Swing but if it is, I'm gonna be really disappointed at CP for all the hype their giving it.
  21. Yeah this new Schlitterbahn sounds really cool. The concept art is simply amazing and looks like it would be a really awesome place to go, especially the rooms in the trees, that wouuld be so cool. Any park with the Transportainment system has to be fun, it would be so cool to never have to get out of your inner tube all day...Anyways I really hope this project goes through, it will be interesting to see Schlitterbahn expand to a bunch of parks.
  22. Wow I am totally shocked to hear this...I'm glad I got all my credits there not too long ago... It will be interesting to find out what that property ends up selling for...
  23. I don't really think its going to be a Screamin Swing, I say that because the prints that they showed in the picture seem to cover a way bigger area, then if they were just for a Screamin Swing. Granted it might have been big because it contained reference points for the project, but still I don't think it would have showed the entire park like that. If they do all this hype and just build a Screamin Swing, I'm going to be really disappointed with CP.
  24. For those interested CP's blog from today (Sept 9th) has an interesting way of showing whats gonna happen in 06 over at the point check it out: http://cedarpoint.com/public/fun%5Fonline/blog/ Its instereing how these were just "sitting" in the trash can so nicely. (As if they didn't plan that) I think their trying to be like Holiday World a bit. You can't tell what their getting from this, but I guess it means that their getting something
  25. I don't really have a desk, so this is a picture of a part of my new office that got a lot bigger this year!
