  1. The only coaster I've been on this month [October] (and will be the only) was Wacky Worm at Adventure Landing Jacksonville Beach...lol For the previous month: Mako (since I didn't answer then)
  2. ^I can tell you that's not normal for Carowinds. They always have let people that are in line before they close the line ride it.
  3. ^^The same question could be asked to Cedar Fair as well. 1. Likely a $$$ thing. 2. They seem to be the most boring of the B&M models (especially to most enthusiasts I know). Wild Eagle was fun, but was not overly exciting. The view was nice though. I'll ride Gatekeeper next year and be better to confirm my judgement of Wing Coasters. 3. RMC came along with something more thrilling for coaster lovers. SF usually is big on thrills, right?
  4. The new location for the Carousel is coming along nicely. (photo from the park's Twitter)
  5. Just a heads up about that Sunday Night. I'm assuming it's Nov 19th. That is the opening night of Christmas Town. It's also the beginning of fall break for many of the FL schools (most are out all that week so Monday may be busier than usual as well). The only coaster you'll likely have an extended wait for is Cheetah Hunt day, night and closing. I would get that one just after it gets dark just because of that and not wait to be the closer. Plus it tends to be a bit temperamental at times with technical difficulties. Kumba & Montu's lines won't be bad at all and are the most reliable. I'd pick Montu as my closer simply because it's my favorite there. Plus it's closer to the park exit (well closer than Kumba). Also, don't forget about Cobra's Curse. Sure it's a Mack family spinner, but it's pretty great. I hadn't ridden it at night, but I can see it being even more fun in the "dark". It also gets a decent size line just because of it's capacity and the "newness factor", but moves fairly quick.
  6. When did you ride it (Kumba)? I know it was a bit rough in July before they did a refurb in August. The back row is best IMO day or night; esp when it launches up into the "Windcatcher Tower".
  7. Merlin has said they aren't talking to SW about any deal. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-11/legoland-owner-says-it-s-not-talking-to-seaworld-about-any-deal
  8. Interesting... Spain’s Parques Reunidos Explores Purchase of SeaWorld
  9. Um yeah....I don't think that's going to work. That's a much further distance.
  10. Wacky Worm at Adventure Landing in Jacksonville Beach. I had my grand nephew with me so I wasn't being too much of a credit whore...lol #noshame #86

  12. ^It's getting a nice refurb from Amuse Rides. https://www.facebook.com/amuserides/posts/1636093433102194
  13. Sundays in October are a great time to go to Carowinds (generally Sundays are great days to go anyway unless it's a holiday weekend). The longest you'll have to wait is maybe 10-15 minutes at most, with many rides near walk-on. Just get there when the park opens and head straight to Nighthawk to get it out of the way. It's very low capacity and is likely only running one train currently. Ricochet (wild mouse) is pretty low capacity as well. Everything else you should be able to get re-rides on to your heart's content.
  14. Can confirm. To us Floridians, 85 degrees Fahrenheit is jeans weather. It's still too hot for jeans...lol
  15. We're getting some cooler weather here too...mid 80's instead of mid 90's...lol
  16. The train seats 14 (7 rows x 2) Also listed at RCDB: https://rcdb.com/175.htm
  17. Having lived in Charlotte the first 28/29 years of my life, I can say that the weather is very indecisive between Thanksgiving and Spring. Some days will be quite summer-like in the upper 70s and others will struggle to get out of the mid 30s. Late January into February tends to get the coldest in terms of sticking around over a period of time. The occasional snow & or Ice, or even threat of such a thing, causes the entire area to go nuts since well...it only happens maybe once a year, with some years several times. They don't know how to deal...lol I've had Christmases there that were almost a "White Christmas" and others that were in the mid 60s and ready to put shorts on. With the uncertainty and randomness of the weather over their normal off season time, I can see it difficult in trying to come up with a year-round schedule that would be consistent and profitable. That doesn't include staffing it. I don't know too many people who are willing to work in that extreme of weather-permitting operation. As much as I would have enjoyed having it open year-round when I still lived there, the idea of riding most of the rides in 40 degree weather isn't appealing to most people that have grown up in the south. Remember that this park relies heavily on locals...not tourists. I could see them going to weekends only schedule if they decided to extend to "year-round". It would be easier than trying to do every day.
  18. ^I'll be 41 next year. I was trying to get to 100 this year being 40, but I guess age 41 will have to do...lol I may get 2 more in this year at Daytona Beach. After my trip is done with CP, KI & KK, I may actually get to 125. #fingerscrossed
  19. Mystic Timbers is going to have a LONG line (weather permitting of course). Kings Island Winterfest Rides:
