  1. ^Probably the same people desperately holding onto their Tape Decks, VCR Tapes, and Rotary Dialed Phones. Actually there is a large collectors market for vinyl records. You can definitely spend a small fortune for some quality titles. (Just watch the opening seen of the movie "The Rock" when Nicolas Cage receives a vinyl record in the mail, which he spent huge $$$ for) I myself once owned many vinyl records, but they have been gone for a long time.....
  2. Hey Coastercraze In most cases going on a Monday will be less crowded than going on a weekend. (I'm suppose to be going on Wednesday + Thursday that week) You may still have some Spring Break type crowds, but just maximize your use of the Fast-Pass system. Arrive at the park as early as possible, you can often get on a lot of rides will little wait during the first hour of the parks operation. Once your in the park you may want to head to a popular attraction like Splash Mountain, and get your Fast-Pass right away. Rides like Splash Mountain often have long waits later on during the day, don't waste your Fass-Pass on rides like Star Tours, use it on the more popular attractions. But, however busy it will be on monday, summer is much worse.
  3. ^Shepp, in response to your quagmire, I would like to add that Iraq did not honor the 1991 cease-fire agreement. That agreement called on the Iraqi government to allow United Nation Weapons Inspectors to search for prohibited weapons in Iraq, and, to allow coalition allies to enforce the "No-Fly Zones" over northern and southern Iraq. With the intent of the No-Fly Zones to protect the Kurds and Shiite Muslims. This No-Fly Zone conflict was largely ignored by the media and the public in both the U.S. and U.K., even though it impacted the military and the citizens of Iraq on almost a weekly basis. In 1998 Iraq barred UN Inspectors from the country, which lead directly to the bombing campaign "Operation Desert Fox". Saddams continued violations of the terms of this cease-fire agreement, which he agreed to under the terms of the armistice which ended the war over Kuwait in 1991, lead directly to the March 19, 2003 start of "Operation Iraqi Freedom". Also, just because the U.S. may have plans in place to "Nuke" Iran, doesn't guarantee that it would occur. The U.S. also has plans in place to nuke Russia and China as well, but that doesn't mean they should declare war on us or initiate a First Strike policy against the U.S. or its allies.
  4. ^^^^Well Shepp, without escalating this thread into the battle of the Political Ideologies, where all Conservatives are Evil, and all Liberals are Naive Morons...Etc... (Lets face it, that's been done to death) I will say that nobody can truely know what allegiances a sadistic and psychopathic person like Saddam would support. Does Saddam fear and hate the United States and its Allies?.....Yes Is it likely that Saddam would be willing to supply finances to support a strike against the U.S. or its allies?.....Yes Is it possible that since the U.S. and its allies were successful in removing Saddam from Kuwait, and then containing him as a virtual prisoner in his own country for a decade, that this might lead this unstable individual to do previously unimaginable things?....Yes Did Saddam have anything to do with 9/11? Who really knows other than Saddam, and I don't see him cooperating with anyone anytime soon. Would Saddam support any action against the U.S. or its allies? I believe so.... This debate can and will go on and on...and nobody will ever be completely satisfied with the eventual outcome. By the way, I am not some die-hard conservative pushing the Bush political agenda....These are just my opinions. But I do believe that to cut and run (Which many people would support) would be a mistake. What would that say to the rest of the world, and more importantly Future threats against the U.S. and its allies? That when the situation becomes difficult, that we should run away from our responsibilities? Anyhow, it may take decades to discover all of the answers, I hope that All of us get the chance to live long enough to find out.
  5. Hello Robb and Elissa, I believe you posted a photo a while back showing one of those name inscribed stones in the walkway between Disneyland and Disneys CA Adventure. I was just wondering where exactly it's located. I have a cousin visiting from out-of-town who loves all things Disney, and were suppose to visit the Disneyland resort next week. I wanted to show it to her, because I know she would get a kick out of seeing it. Thanks!
  6. Nice Post MWkc, I listened to the full 74 minutes. It was interesting to hear a live radio broadcast as the events of 9/11 occured. Like most people, I watched that infamous day unfold on TV, rather than hearing it on the radio. Howard Sterns live radio broadcast showed how easily misinformation is disseminated during a crisis situation, with various TV news outlets reporting attacks or bombings that didn't actually occur. Since you were quite young when the attacks occured, you no doubt have a unique perspective on the events that day. I can certainly understand your support for the war, given all that you may have personally witnessed or experienced on that day.
  7. So you left Dunkin Donuts for a "Higher Paying" job at Wal-Mart? Well then what the heck was Dunkin Donuts paying you??? Because I believe that Wal-Mart starts new employees at minimum wage. Regardless, you were wise to leave Wal-Mart early on. Many people work very hard for this company and get little in return. I've heard that after working at Wal-Mart for six months to a year, that your lucky if you get a raise of a quarter per hour! That Sucks!!! The reason this company has such a high turnover rate, is because you can't build a dedicated and loyal workforce on the cheap. You have to be willing to pay a "Living Wage". A better option than your first two choices might be Costco. (If you have one near your school). This is a great company, they are known for taking excellent care of their employees, especially in terms of wages and benefits offered. Costco also has one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry, and they almost always promote from within their current workforce. If you started working for them today, by the time you graduate from college (depending on your major) you could land a great long term job with a very well run and respected company.
  8. ^Dam AdamFT that's the one!!! Don't you just love the way his papa zooms the camcorder in for the close-up shot of his son crying! That's going to one well adjusted kid.....
  9. What's amazing about this incident is that he apparently only broke his leg. (That's what another site stated) When you watch that tire roll over him it could have easily have broken his back or worse. But never the less....OUCH!!!
  10. Hey Metrock! Must you remind us that Knotts Halloween Haunt isn't for almost another six months!!! I noticed in your photos to celebrate Halloween, that you chose a classic "Cemetery" Theme. Do you think that your subconscious came up with that idea, do to your close proximity to Leisure World??? Since you put up the extra effort to decorate for Halloween, do any of your neighbors do the same? It's great when you have several houses decked-out for this Fun Night!
  11. ^Yes ShadowLink that's a perfect example! (Sadly there are many others just like it) On another similar video, the child screams and then runs behind his father and starts to cry. While his child is crying the "Papa" is Laughing his Ass Off!!! It's one thing to playfully tease your child, it's another to scare them to tears!
  12. I heard this on talk radio today. If you go to Google.com, type in the word Failure into the search column, then hit the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button, NOT the Google search button. It's believed to be in response to the governments recent demand that Google release information on what their clients have been browsing on the net.
  13. That was a surprise! Like others have said, I've seen this done different ways in the past. But, I wasn't expecting it this time. There are several videos out on the net showing a variety of Cruel Parents doing this to their young children. These poor kids usually react by screaming/crying and running from the room! These are the same parents you see on the news in twenty years saying "I don't have any idea how my child became a serial killer, he/she had such a happy and normal childhood!? Yeah! Right!
  14. A great choice will always be the Honda. My college roommate had one, my brother had a CRX for ten years, and my dad currently drives an Acura. They all have had excellent experiences with this car line. Honda makes a high quality, and very reliable automobile. American cars have improved over the years, but they aren't up to the standard set by the Japanese automakers. There is a reason why the number one selling car in the US year after year is from a Japanese automaker, they have have a great reputation for making a high quality automobile.
  15. Well as of Sunday April 9th, the RedSox are 5-1 (First Place), and the Yankees are 2-4 (Last Place). The Season is off to a Great Start!!!
  16. Well Patrick, I live in Orange County as well, and everyone knows that Garden Grove is the land of Crack Dealers and Meth Houses! Anyone in the 92840 to 92845 zip code is nothing but trouble! Just kidding, I use to live in Huntington Beach (Just south of Garden Grove), and I've actually spent a lot of time in your city. My friends and I would often head up Magnolia Street to Garden Grove Blvd to go to some great Korean Restaurants. Also, There are many excellent Supermarkets like "Arirang" where you can get many items not available at your local supermarket. Items like thin sliced Pork Sukiyaki, and when you visit the Seafood Dept. It's Fresh! Real fresh infact, because it's still Alive and Swimming in the tank right in front of you! You get to select the live fish you want, and they will, Uhhh.... Prepare it for you, or you can put it in a plactic bag with water and prepare it yourself at home. Anyhow, It's a great city, whenever I'm driving down the 22 Freeway I always stop in for a visit.
  17. There is nothing better than a made to order Gourmet Burrito from "Chipotle". Even though the wait in line can often be excessive, it's worth the wait!
  18. Wow FlyingScooter, that was a unique and disturbing website! Here's a random quote from this site......"This is my girlfriend (shows a picture), shes my little hottie, and shes got the same grandma as me" There's nothing like a little inbreeding to enhance the family line.
  19. As others have stated Raging Waters is an excellent waterpark. It has been around for twenty years, so they have had time to refine and perfect the waterpark experience. I do agree with USCoaster that it's tragic that Raging Waters decided to remove my favorite attraction "Raging Rivers" this was a quarter mile long, man-made river of rapids, whirlpools, dams and spill ways. It was a truely original and fun water ride, that will be missed! But, like many past attractions it was replaced with something new, in this case an eight lane racing slide called "Ragin' Racer". I'm sure this will be a fun attraction, though many other waterparks have something similar to it. On the positive side there are a wide variety of water attractions, and many of these allow multiple people to ride together. So with attractions like the "Dark Hole", you and your wife get to ride in the same tube while racing down a Pitch Black fully enclosed slide, as it twists, turns and drops down a hill in complete darkness, it's great! (Especially for couples) Anyhow, if you decide to go, you'll have a fun time at Raging Waters!!!
  20. What happened to the two threads? A new one was posted last night, and today there both deleted? Did I miss something? Just curious... I assume it was an April Fools joke. But I thought you would have kept the second thread "SHAME ON YOU Robb Alvey", up until the end of April Fools. You would have had some great responses!
  21. You just reminded me to check my smoke detectors. Unfortunately, it often takes an "Unexpected" event to remind people about doing the basics, like checking their smoke detectors or whether your home fire extinguisher is in need of recharging. (They often are) But luckily you were able to put out the fire, because there isn't anything much worse than have your home catch fire or worse burn down. With earthquakes (I'm in CA) or floods, you can often still retrieve your personal belongings. With a fire though, they may be gone forever, and there isn't an insurance policy out there that can replace things like family photos. But luckily for you, things turned out for the best!
  22. ^ Indeed it is bigger, they show more of a traditional style castle wall which surrounds an entire area with Sleeping Beautys Castle located in the middle of the drawing.
  23. What to visit an alternate world specially designed to amaze and delight? Head to Disneyland--or buy a video game. Theme park imaginer Danny Hillis discusses in the April 2006 edition of Wired magazine, the wonderful virtual world of Disney. In the article Hillis talks about Disneyland and how it prefigured videogames. What lies ahead are a variety of excerpts from the article. Wired talks about how Disneyland itself was the first massively multiplayer game. You have all of these people milling around, with lots of open-ended missions to chose from. Hillis agrees by telling how that when you go to a theme park with people you have a relationship with--friends, family-- and you interact with each other in ways you wouldn't in normal life. You get into situations where you're frightened or excited together. Theme parks take you out of the everyday and re-create that sense of wonder from childhood, the time when nothing made sense, where you didn't know what would happen next and you didn't need to. They're wonderful, thrilling, and unpredictable--but safe. Hillis explains that's how he felt the first time he played The Legend of Zelda. It was a new thing. He didn't know what the rules were or what would happen next. But he didn't worry about it. Wired next talks about how Walt Disney was hailed as the man who brought story to rides. Hillis explains that there's a basic thing that happens in every ride: Normal life, an adventure, and then back to the real world. There's a narrative arc in any good experience, be it a ride, book, or a game. He uses the game Myst as an example because it had a fantastic story--that's what makes it work. Wired mentions that Myst was about exploring an abandoned island, trying to figure out the backstory while solving puzzles. Hillis felt that Myst is very close to the theme park experience. We're hardwired to remember things by location, and theme parks have a sense of place as well as story. It's like when you're immersed in a multiplayer game--a part of your mind believes that the place really exists. Wired states that you can "play" parks like that--learning your way around, trying to dodge lines and uncover hidden surprises. Hillis agrees because he felt the very best games are the ones where you have to figure out what the object is. The trick is to provide direction subtle enough that it's not perceived immediately. Theme parks have that, too. When you enter Disneyland, you don't know the Sleeping Beauty Castle is your objective, but there's no doubt when your in Town Square that you should be walking up Main Street USA. Just like a great game, you always have an idea that you need to go this way or that. Eventually you catch on to the themed worlds and the central hub. The article goes on to talk about how Walt Disney envisioned Epcot as the ultimate interactive space as well. As a side note, above the two page Wired article is a sketch of Disneyland drawn two years before the park opened. Sleeping Beauty's Castle looks quite different then what was actually built, but other things like the entrance to the park, Main Street USA, and Tom Sawyers Island look spot on to what they finally built.
  24. Wallys post has somewhat turned into the episode of South Park when the teachers have to teach Sex Education to their students. Mr. Garrison hears many of these terms (From his Kindergarteners no less) when he asks his class for suggestions. Some of these were " Dirty Sanchez" "Glass Bottom Boat" "Hot Lunch" "Hot Carl"(which was also mentioned above by ChrisZerO). Plus there were others, which I can't remember from that episode. If you have a strong stomach, then logon onto the Urban Dictionary where you can look them up. It still amazes me what South Park gets away with.
  25. Hey Walley, I use to own a health food store and I sold a lot of colon cleanses. Infact, the one your using is easily the top one or two seller in the industry. The bottle you have is generally a ten day supply for one person. But, to do a true "Colon Cleansing" use the product for the full ten days. (Not just today) This cleanse usually isn't the type that will "Kick In" without warning while your driving down the road, so you won't have to suddenly pull over and make some Mad Dash into your local McDonalds restroom. I'd also have some clients who came in for cleanses who had been.....how should I say "Backed-Up" for perhaps 10+ days in a row. For those people in need of immediate results or if the regular cleanses aren't fast enough, then the top choice is a product called "Super Dieters Tea". Super Dieters Tea has been around forever, you soak a couple of tea bags for about five minutes, then Watch Out! This Stuff is Wicked Strong! I had clients who actually reported that they almost levitated above the toilet once this tea kicked in! The maximum wait for your Happy Results, was usually within 30 minutes! Enjoy!
