Semi Photo TR: CGA Opening Day
XII replied to Angry_Gumball's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So by reading your statement I'm led to believe that you think the parks were great during its Paramount reign by comparison? As much as I agree that the park isn't worth a visit by potential out of county/state park goers, I cant really stand people bashing CF for "killing" the park. I think they're making due with the state the park was in, post-Paramount. The last season, I saw a cleaner park with a friendlier vibe, both by staff and in presentation. The ramp CF is taking in improvements may not be as steep as we'd hope/like it to be, but they're definitely making improvements to the park. I'm by far a CGA nutt-hugger, even though it is one of my home parks, but I cant keep reading about how CF is flushing this park down the drain. While CGA wasn't "OMG! This is amazing!!" Disney Quality during the Paramount era, I did find it to be in decent shape with decent operators and decent quality. As for the workers being friendly, I really hope this is true. But from my experience with Cedar Fair workers, that is most likely not true. If you love CGA, that's fine, but I have defiantly lowered my expectations for the park. Oh yeah. That Coke Machine is an eyesore. -
I would definetly recommend a day at both SFMM and DLR. I'd also recommend a half day @ KBF and a day @ SFDK. Great America just has Top Gun and that's about it. So don't waste your time there. Enjoy your trip.

My thoughts exactly. Not only are Top Gun & Drop Zone's new names an earsore, but their signs are an eyesore. Cedar Fair is killing CGA and will probably start to kill all the other Paramount parks in no time. -

TOP 5 B&M INVERTED COASTERS
XII replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. DD Fire @ IOA 2. Montu @ BGA 3. DD Ice @ IOA 4. Raptor @ Cedar Point 5. Batman the Ride @ SFMM 6. Top Gun @ CGA 7. Great Bear @ Hersheypark 8. Silver Bullet @ KBF -
Well, since nobody reads this crap, i'll just get to the photos since that's what everyone wants. And here's a photo of the fountain before the awsome Night ERT. And I want to say thanks to SFMM for totally excceding my high expectations. Here's a *tiny* fragment of what you'll find in the Sky Tower Museum. And the last tour of the night was the Sky Tower Tour Unfortunetly, the surviving DejaVu was not able to thrill us today. (But the day was so awsome we didn't need it.) And here's a car from Grand Prix. Once again, so sad to see it's gone. Cheese the Ride!!! (This will probably be the name of the 2009 B&M Hyper @ Kings Island.) They had a Collosus Train up here. More XLR8 train goodness. They had XLR8 trains from Astroworld here. Seeing Disected Flashback is just plain awsome in 100 diffrent ways. So sad to see Granny Grand Prix gone. And to think of all the missed oppertunities to ride this magnificent car ride. Now I'm just waiting for a good drop tower to take Freefall's place. And in this tour, we saw various things from SFMM and other Six Flags Parks like this Shockwave Train. I was just walking from one of the tours when I noticed that Golrdusher got a new sign. It looks nice. Mmm. Twisty goodness. This part of the ride reminds me of a big blue overrated rollercoaster across the country. But enough about Thomas Town. It's all about the badass Goliath shots! And here's Thomas Town. I can already see their first attraction came straight from Diggerland. I see a yellow support and I want to paint it black. Tim talking about how the new trains will increase X2's capacity. Roll out the red carpet for X2's new trains. Don't listen to the sign! The sign feeds you lies!!!!! Rocking Scream! Riddlers was running good as usual. After the morning ERT, we went straight to Riddlers. But who needs Morning ERT when there are Doughnuts to be eaten!!!! And Superman. There was Morning ERT on Tatsu... So every year, they have Westcoast Bash, well this year just blowed last year away!!! Everything this year was top notch and flat out awsome!!!!

Pacific Park sold for $34 million
XII replied to speedracer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yay!!! I am not a fan of Pacific Park and unless Cedar Fair buys it, the new owners will most likely make the park like 20 times better. -
Mitch Hawker's 2007 Steel Coaster Poll Results

^^^T Express is a woodie and won't be in the poll. So they don't have to worry about that. -

This is just proof that Cedar Fair Sucks. Every decision they have made this year sucked. I predict that they're next big assignment will be to make Behemonths first drop 45 degrees since 80 is obviously too good for them. -

Just a question. What exactly makes Eagle Fortress so great that it became #3 on the list? I haven't read a review of the ride so I have no idea what it does that convinces TPR Members to rank it so high. Anyways, it's good to see MAverick in the Top 10 -
I just deep fried an already deep fried twinkie!!!

Would you mind changing mine to "Also known as God."
-
No because if they had a problem with Robb using those songs, then they'd have a problem with millions of people around the world who make custom videos using their songs. Plus, the rights to a song cost about as much as a TPR Trip, so if Robb had to buy the rights to the songs, he wouldn't be able to afford to go on the trips and there would be no segments at all.

Yay! Someone agrees with me! I've always thought the Booomerang was way too rough, but Invertigo is super intense. I love how much forces there are. That must have been the only Boomerang you've ridden. I've ridden 4 diffrent Regular Boomerangs and SFDK's was by far the smoothest. And as for Invertigo, just wait til you get on DejaVu.

Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort?
XII replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I voted for Disney World for most of the reasons said before. Better Tower, Better Space Mtn, Larger Variety, Visable Castle, More Parks and most importantly, Chinese Watermelon Soda! But I also agree that it's hard to truely compare the parks since their so diffrent. -

Your need to go back and ride Maverick. No trip to Cedar Point is complete without one. Glad you had fun though. -

Make fun of Joey to cheer myself up. Then Joey got mad. And I said, "If you want to kill me, there's a gun you can shoot me with. You just have to cross the monkey bars to get the gun." Realizing that he could never get the gun, Joey decided to...
