Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I'm pretty sure if they named the ride "butt-hole" more enthusiast would travel even farther than they already will just to get a chance to ride the butt-hole. Now would you ride "Butt Hole" . . . full frontal or in the rear -
Assuming that Joker's Jinx does get removed in the future . . . (and also if V2 doesn't come to SFA), what kind of coaster would you like to see? Me personally . . . I'd like to see another launcher from Premier Rides (and I'm biased because Premier Rides is a Baltimore based company ) . . . either an LSM or a Sky Rocket II model. If not that, perhaps a Dive Coaster . . . D3 (District Drop of Doom)

I remember last year at the Batman stunt arena, they had the Mr. America bodybuilding/fitness competitions . . . as well as the BMX show (July and October). And in May, they had a cheer/dance competition in the arena. edit: I've enjoyed Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth so far . . . . . I like getting a great view of the park . . . as well as the upper decks of FedEx field. Only wish we could see the ruins of Hall Manor (damn trees in the way )

Your first Arrow Dynamics coaster
Jason Maier replied to stashua123's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
How big was the line for the opening of GASM? Anyhow . . . Anaconda at KD was my first Arrow -
Whats your favorite Vekoma?
Jason Maier replied to Neogreeneyez's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite Vekoma is Batwing at Six Flags America -
Oldest Coaster You've Ridden
Jason Maier replied to MSLSM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Same here. You know, since the Wild One is turning 100 . . . I'm surprised they haven't done a "100 rides in a row" marathon type thing for the coaster (with those that complete it getting a special plaque and shirt). I'd give it some thought -
Top five things you'd do with a Time Machine
Jason Maier replied to Justin Adams's topic in Random, Random, Random
I had always thought that Marriot's proposed Maryland's Great America was supposed to be closer to Baltimore? But anyhow . . . I'd travel back and be able to ride certain coasters I missed in my younger days (Rolling Thunder, GASM, etc) -
Worst Arrow coaster
Jason Maier replied to CP_fan_boy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I did ride Drachen Fire as a youngblood (12 or 13) . . . . and it banged me around. And didn't it also have a sign in the station that said . . . remove your earrings before riding? -
Longest coasters you've been on
Jason Maier replied to Angle O. Descent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Top 10 longest I've been on (and I did check RCDB and Wikipedia for track lengths) 1. Nitro (5,394) 2. Superman: Ride of Steel (5,350) 3. El Toro (4,400) 4. Green Lantern (4,155) 5. Wild One (4,000) 6. Bizarro (3,985) 7. Roar (3,468) 8. Batwing (3,340) 9. Kingda Ka (3,118) 10. Apocalypse (2,900) -
La Ronde Discussion Thread
Jason Maier replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Based on the paint scheme, it sure seems like it. Same with how Vampire seems like it was supposed to be Batman based on the paint scheme and bat theming. None of these rides were intended to be DC themed b/c they can't use DC themes in how the licensing deal works. SF must not think it's worth paying more to change the deal. How come the DC licensing deal doesn't extend to La Ronde? -
1. I had no clue that hitting up the Safari Off Road before noon was the best idea (as I said, my priority when I went was JL:BFM) 2. Nitro at night during FF and HITP sounds awesome. I know for FF, there's a "Flash Pass" for the mazes . . . and I'll likely get that. (I know one of the FF rides is a hayride to the Switlick house). As for the rides, I think Gold Flash pass is sufficient enough (or are crowds for FF & HITP not enough to warrant a FP?)

Well . . . it was a great day for me at Great Adventure. Wasn't sure at first because it was raining when I got up Friday morning and for a good part of my drive up from Maryland. Turned out to be a mostly sunny day in New Jersey Gold Flash pass was well worth it (the only real waits with it were Superman: Ultimate Flight and JL:BFM) How long has GAdv been using the paid lockers? My score card was . . . JL:BFM x 1 (first on my agenda. I got the highest score in the car I was in . . . and I forgot to grab the 3D glasses ) The Dark Knight Coaster x 2 (my favorite Wild Mouse) Batman: The Ride x 3 (can't go wrong with a B&M Invert) Skull Mountain x 1 The Joker x 2 (both times I was sent to the green side. Got some good flips in) Nitro x 5 (3 trains running . . . ops were sending 'em out quick) Houdini's Great Escape x 1 Runaway Mine Train x 1 El Toro x 3 Kingda Ka x 5 (it was intermittently down during the day, same with Zumanjaro) Zumanjaro x 1 Green Lantern x 1 Superman: Ultimate Flight x 2 Bizzarro x 2 Except for Superman: Ultimate Flight . . . . ride ops were really quick in getting full trains out. Food service was also very good. Only thing I didn't get to do that I wanted to was Safari Off-Road (by the time I get back there at 4:45, it was already at full capacity and closed for the day). I'll likely go back again this year . . . . Now if my memory serves correct, for Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park, Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro don't run because of the cold weather (same with Safari Off Road) and Bizzarro doesn't run because of weather as well?

Melted Swiss cheese on a burger for me Deep Dish or Hand tossed pizza?

DO NOT SKIP GREEN LANTERN! People consistently complain that it is a bad or "rough" ride but I highly recommend riding it. It is fun, thrilling, and the theming ties in with the 2011 movie of the same name. Good coaster experience, and I don't understand why it gets so much hate. I think it gets hate because a. It's a stand up coaster and b. It replaced the Great American Scream Machine

So how often does TTD roll back? (and does it roll back more than Kingda Ka?) -
Well . . . I'm ready for Friday. And I did get myself a Gold Flash pass (I don't really see the need to go platinum . . . UNLESS the expected turnout is very big. And I wonder why they changed the platinum thing about two rides in a row) First thing I'll do when I get there . . . stretch out (I'll be driving 166 miles up from Maryland) Must do's for me - JL:BFM, Batman: The Ride, El Toro, KK, Zumanjaro, Bizarro, The Dark Knight, Nitro, Safari Off Road Likely do's for me - Skull Mountain, The Joker, Houdini's Great Escape, Superman: Ultimate Flight I'll likely skip Green Lantern . . . . and I may throw in a few flats here and there, as well as an animal show And it'll be no great shake for me if I don't ride one thing or another as many times as I want. I'll likely make another Great Adventure trip later this year.

There are 4 different pricing tiers for flash passes depending on expected demand / attendance for the day. If you look online and select different days you will see there is an "A" "B" "C" and "D" price. Also there is a $5 discount per person with any six flags season pass if you purchase in person. Generally, how many Flash Passes are purchased per day?

I'm a life long Marylander . . . . Of course SFA (before that Wild World and then Adventure World) is my home park. Also made trips in my younger days to KD, BGW, HP . . .

Over the years I've found that Fridays generally have moderate attendance. It's probably the best day of the week to visit during the summer. Enjoy your day. And the reason I picked Friday is because I'm off of work that whole day . . . . not sure if I'll bother with a Flash Pass or not (if as you say Fridays are moderate in attendance, it wouldn't be worth it to buy one). And I just watched the JL:BFM video on youtube . . . . very impressive Dark Ride
