Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?

That's not a thing at Great Adventure. They ran all of their HITP coasters including Nitro when it was 19 degrees (F) last year. How awesome a ride is Nitro when it's that cold

I think for storms . . . they evacuate the Hurricane Harbor area (that happened to me last year, I saw dark clouds and was like . . . "I'm booking it out of here!") As far as the rides re-opening, I think they have to wait until the storm cell has left the area (at least 30 minutes) and of course for the rides to dry off

How high do the winds have to be to warrant a closure of coasters? And it's not all coasters that close in high winds? -
Alice in Chains last night at The Anthem in Washington DC (followed by midnight dinner at Denny's in College Park)

Worst Coaster Ever?

I did look at rcdb.com at pictures of those SLC's . . . and nice looking restraints -
By default . . SFA since it's my homepark. If I ever make it to SFStL . . . my opinion may change. GCI showdown . . . . Wildcat (first GCI) vs Roar [sFA] (second GCI)

Worst Coaster Ever?
Jason Maier replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
from several reviews I've read . . . . Manhattan Express/Big Apple in Vegas ranks up there (or down there, depending on how you look at it) among the worst coasters. Other ones I've heard as being bad (whether roughness or bad design): Desperado (nicknamed . . . DesperaDON'T) Vekoma SLC's (though some have praised Great Nor'Easter after the re-tracking, and ME at SFNE after the new trains were installed) Grizzly (CGA) Vortex (Carowinds) Mighty Canadian Minebuster (nicknamed "Spinebuster") Psyclone (Magic Mountain . . . still find it interesting that it was the only time B&M built trains for a woody) -
That's what I was thinking. I'm having a hard time thinking of theme parks that are reasonably close to existing Six Flags parks that the company would consider purchasing. I personally would love to see Elitch Gardens and Darien Lake become Six Flags parks again, but I highly doubt that will ever happen. Maybe Alabama Adventure, since it is a 2.5 hour drive from SFOG? Or something up near SFGAm like Indiana Beach or Wisconsin Dells maybe? I really have no idea. I really wish they would bring back Darien Lake, they're in need of a big and wealthy company to get the park back up to standards, many areas of the park need to be repaired, attendance is barely climbing (though with Tantrum arriving I think it'll reel in some), and the park's coasters only have 1 train. Why do the coasters at Darien Lake only have 1 train?

But instead of being scared of coasters . . . . you'd be scared of very large crowds. I wish I was taller (I'd want to be 6-4) -

TPR 2017 Coaster Poll Results!
Jason Maier replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What I like about the TRP coaster poll is that more non-US coasters are included in it (as opposed to the Golden Ticket awards). I was surprised that Manhattan Express/Big Apple didn't rank the WORST (but as for Time Warp, I think on one of the videos I've seen, it was mentioned those Zamperla Volares are rough). -
Well I took my annual trip up to GAdv this past Sunday . . . Took me 2.5 hours to drive up from Maryland (well, not much Sunday traffic and I was booking 75 mph up I-295). Had to start the day off with a couple front row trips on Batman: The Ride. Seems that B&M inverts run faster in cooler weather? Then for a couple of trips on my favorite Wild Mouse . . . The Dark Knight Coaster. Good theme wins in my book. Of course . . . . Nitro was really hauling it (and the crew there was awesome, getting the trains loaded/unloaded quickly. And all 3 trains were running). Took a spin on The Joker (green side). Unlike last year, this time I really got some good rotation! Made my way down the Boardwalk . . . stopped for lunch and did a spin on Green Lantern. Yeah, it's a stand up, but the layout is good . . . plus it don't bonk my ears like Apocalypse does. Only real wait I had was for front row on Superman: Ultimate Flight. And of course . . . front row of El Toro And this time I remembered to do SORA. Kingda Ka was running 3 trains (as was Bizarro). . . . and of course I had to do front row I was told that the targeted opening date for Cyborg's Cyber Spin is Memorial Day Weekend Final count: Batman: The Ride 4x El Toro 4x (how I forgot to mention this when I first posted, no clue) The Dark Knight 3x Nitro 3x The Joker 1x Green Lantern 1x Superman: Ultimate Flight 3x Parachuter's Perch 1x Kingda Ka 3x Zumanjaro 2x SORA 1x Bizarro 2x JL:BFM 1x I'll likely go back up again for HITP . . . . yes I know everything past the Boardwalk is closed . . but hey, MORE rides on Nitro in cold weather Got to love the Pretzel Loop Me mugging for the camera with Porky and Petunia Pig Bison in SORA
