I've done Dorney twice and spent a total of 3 hours in the park (90 minutes each visit). Trying to get through the park as quickly as possible is most of the fun of that park. 1/2 a day is plenty.

Disneyland has been using Dry Ice in ODV carts for 58 years and this is the first time this has happened. This is just an idiot CM that made an idiotic decision. No more, no less.

Bag check wouldn't have even stopped the Dry Ice since it was a CM. I think they go through a bag check too.

As for Disney security, I've always found the bag checks at Disneyland in particular to be wildly inconsistent. I'm sure they get some training but depending on which line you go to and which "security" person you get you could either get a quick glance or a thorough inspection. Other security in the park (the uniformed people) have always been great and I have the utmost confidence in their abilities. I don't know if they go through the same training for the bag checkers/normal security people. IMO I think Metal Detectors would be a good thing in that it would cause the park to adopt a more consistent security procedure vs what's there now.

I'll be at the park in a little over 2 weeks. Haven't visited SFDK since 2010 so my priorities are Superman, Sky Screamer and the new show. Glad to see the park is looking good. Has Roar improved over the last couple of years?

^ That's the start of Labor Day weekend. Some schools are actually in by then though so it might not be too bad. Certainly not as bad as that actual weekend.

^^^ I do that no matter what FlashPass I have. When they scan it at the FlashPass entry you can reserve another ride. The only time it doesn't work is when they put you on a train/boat/whatever as soon as you reach the station. But even then you are only waiting 1-2 minutes for the rides. From what I remember from the last time I used the FP at SFGAm a couple of years ago you can also queue up more than 1 ride so that as soon as the first ride is scanned it immediately starts queuing the next ride.

Great win for the Kings last night. Not sure who I'm rooting for tonight. While I'd love to get Home Ice in the Western Finals I still have this deep seeded hatred for the Red Wings.

I think my daughter is going to be getting Animal Crossing to play on Mr X's 3DS. I'm sure I'll be borrowing it.

Had to miss the KTLA shoot due to the flu, sounds like I missed a good time. The new additions look great. Still don't see how they are running 1 train on 3 of their coasters during Memorial Weekend.

You'll be fine on the 3rd. Most schools are still in session until at least the end of that week. Next Week (Tues-Thu) and the following week are probably the last weeks where it won't be too bad.

^ Not really. The Canucks lost in the 1st round the last 2 years and have only won 1 playoff game the last 2 seasons. Even though they went to the Finals 3 years ago, the 2 years before that they lost in the 2nd round. It's not like they've done anything in the playoffs on a consistent basis. With all of that talent they should be in the mix every year.

You pretty much answered your own question: What's with all the Plunge hate? Unreliable. Awful Dispatch. Killed Somebody. I rode it once, only once and that was with the lap bars. It was fun, nothing amazing.

My last ride on the original "X" was probably 2-3 years before it closed to become X2. It literally messed up my back for a month and I swore I'd never ride it again. Even after it became "X2" it took me a few months before I was willing to give it another try and that's when I had one of my "good" rides. I've probably ridden X/X2 50 times and I've maybe had 6-7 what I'd call "good" rides on it. I won't sit anywhere other than the first 3 rows and even then it's not great most of the time. I think the concept is great, but I just wish there was a way to get a consistently good ride. I think leg restraints similar to the B&M Flyers would certainly help some but that's not the only problem.

You can do Knott's during the day when haunt is going on and those days are generally pretty empty.

^ Agreed on all accounts. Poorly officiated, should have gone to OT but the Kings didn't help themselves. If they'd played the entire game like they played the 3rd the goal that didn't count wouldn't have even mattered.
