  1. Hopefully this is Disney's chance to give Space Mtn and Soarin' a much needed refurb?
  2. ^^ I wish I would have known that before. LOL
  3. The conditions of some of the buildings is one of my biggest pet peeve's with the park. But I disagree that GL is the only one that's decent looking. Batman got some work a few years ago, Goliath's station isn't bad. Colossus and Revolution still look decent and Viper also looks good. The worst queue lines are certainly Scream and Ninja. As for the Ninja station, you are correct, that was the station for the Dragon. The other station is down near Jet Stream. And yes, you can still see some track going up the last hill on Ninja. A couple of buildings recently got new roofs, but I'm very disappointed that the bathroom rehabs didn't get completed a few years ago. The front two bathrooms (near Revolution and across from the fountain) are absolutely horrid. I don't use those unless I have no other choice. As for the coasters, there are probably 5 or 6 coasters I'll ride on a consistent basis (Ninja, Superman, Gold Rusher, Batman, Colossus, Goliath). The rest are just "once in awhile" and a few are almost never (Viper, Revolution, Riddlers, Scream).
  4. I just gave out a whole bunch as well. I tried to make a penis shape but it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. If I was playing on an iPad I probably would have been able to do it.
  5. ^ Was hoping the incident would finally wake up the Dodgers bats but apparently that didn't happen this weekend in AZ. Beckett pitched better yesterday than he has in years but got absolutely no run support.
  6. ^ Dr. Who get's about 5.5 million per week. Which is good for cable, is not really great overall. Granted, Dr. Who is getting a LOT of new fans because of Netflix. As Wes said, it has a large loyal fanbase which doesn't even come close to network shows or even The Walking Dead, Mad Men or Game of Thrones. And I'm a huge fan of the show. http://www.sfx.co.uk/2013/04/14/doctor-who-cold-war-overnight-ratings-2/
  7. Weird, when I took the survey there was no mention of Dr. Who. I got Scooby, Looney Tunes characters, Jack Sparrow, Nemo and Geico Gecko.
  8. Just to note, when we were there on Thursday they hadn't even begun work on the new retail/food building from what we could see. The old Arcade sign was still in front. They were doing some landscaping on the other side of the hill (kind of where Log Jammers lift hill was) but there is still a LOT to do before this ride opens. That said, now that most of the vertical construction is done and workers can now get into the area it may go pretty quick. My guess is still early/mid June.
  9. Interesting note posted over on MiceChat. If you are going to the park today expect some long lines and pissed off people.
  10. ^ Yeah, that seems odd. Even 8pm would make more sense I think.
  11. Funny story. I actually rode Iron Wolf in it's last year at SFGAdv and Apocalypse in it's first year at SFA even though neither is at my home park. Not sure what they did to it but it was a LOT better at SFA and actually rideable. I had heard they were getting new trains but I'm not sure if that was ever the case. The paint job looked great and it was actually nicely themed. On the flip side, it's still a Stand-Up coaster and there really aren't many of those I actually "enjoy" other than GA Scorcher. I honestly wouldn't be sad if any stand-up coaster bit the dust. The only ones I haven't ridden are Mantis and Vortex (Carowinds).
  12. Gallery of NHL Ice Girls. You're Welcome. http://m.si.com/2723266/ba6aac78/
  13. ^ I'm not a fan of Thousand Island for the most part, but I like In N Out's version and it's AMAZING on the Animal Style Fries. I know it's not a fast food place, but I'm going to be checking out Unami Burger next week when I go to see the Rush movie at the Arclight with Q&A by Geddy and Alex. Squee.
  14. - Don't force kids to ride stuff. I got mad at my son once because he didn't want to ride something and I felt terrible about it. Of course now he's mad he didn't ride it and will never get the chance to ride it (Viper at Astroworld) - Do take them to parks and let them enjoy what they can actually ride. They will in-turn become more comfortable at parks, around people and know the rides are safe. - Don't try and break rules to get your kids on rides. Don't spike their hair, tell them to stand on their tippy toes (two things I saw happen on Gold Rusher last week). This just encourages them to break rules. - Be prepared that your kids may go through phases. My daughter would ride ANYTHING at the age of 7, wasn't afraid to ride anything. Now, at the age of 16 she's kind of "over" coasters. She's not afraid to ride anything, it's just not her thing. On the flip side, our son was about 10 before he'd want to ride anything major. Even last year at the age of 14 on our coaster trip there were a few things he didn't want to ride and got nervous before riding. KK being one.
  15. Nice recap on the pointless brawl in San Diego last night. http://www.dodgersbeat.com/dodgers-game-recap-april-11-2013/ I just don't get what Quentin was thinking. There is NO WAY Greinke was trying to hit him in a 1-run game and a 3-2 count. I know there are times when pitchers intentionally hit a batter and IMO it's justified. And now Greinke is out with a broken collarbone.
  16. Yeah, I've used the Kings Ticket Exchange before. The last game I used eBay and for the game on the 21st I used that Scorebig.com website because I had $30 to spend. I saved about 10% on tickets so nothing great but my tickets did come FedEx today and I just bought them on Tuesday. I actually think Scorebig would work better for baseball games than Kings games. At least this year. LOL
  17. I rode Batman at SFMM a few weeks ago and it was as smooth as the day it opened. Certainly smoother than Scream or Riddlers Revenge. I have to agree with everybody else. Led Zep or one of the Vortex's will be first. Hopefully Led Zep will see the light of day again and it will be one of those awful stand ups.
  18. I was also pretty shocked that the drop was as steep as it is. Pleasantly shocked. I was also glad to see that the brakes didn't start until about 1/2 way down. I was worried we'd get "Kingda Ka'd" but I think there will be quite a nice little pop of airtime coming down the final drop. I can't really think of any coaster that has it's highest drop be right into the final brakes though. I guess TTD?
  19. ^^ No question. Kings Forum tickets were CHEAP ... until Gretzky got there (apparently). My first game was during the Gretzky area. And as I'm typing this, Kings are getting whupped by Dallas. It's only 3-1 but it's not even that close.
  20. SFMM posted a picture of Viper and the caption "Stay in the LOOP....BIG news this week!". Everybody assumes it's Full Throttle (it is) but the best comment so far: "The second half of Full Throttle is going to be announced?" I hope the person is a member of TPR. Sometimes the internet is full of awesome.
