http://consequenceofsound.net/2013/06/bruce-springsteen-honors-james-gandolfini-with-performance-of-born-to-run/ Too bad James wasn't "Born to Run", he may still be here. Too soon? -
The Random Adventures of SuperShawn
Sir Clinksalot replied to SuperShawn's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great stuff Shawn. Agree about SFOG, one of the better Six Flags parks. Glad you had a great time. And I agree, riding an Anton with RD is an experience not to be missed. -
^ Exactly. My company had a crappy CEO for YEARS but it didn't impact my job one bit. It impacted my stock, but it didn't impact me and what I do on a daily basis. Even decisions that my bosses boss makes don't really impact me on a day-to-day basis. Not sure why people think SFMM is different than any other company.

I've seen a couple of pics floating around. It actually is looking better than I thought it would. But I haven't been to the park. I'm SO looking forward to not having to go to SFMM after tomorrow for a few months. We'll be doing our SFHH days and that's it until Fright Fest stuff starts showing up.

This is the End Absolutely hilarious. Probably the funniest movie I've seen since Superbad. It was smart and deliciously raunchy in all the right ways. This movie will be quite quotable for years to come.

Can't really have a better day than an "Intergalactic Probe", Boob Credit and a living through a Sketchy Credit. Awesome stuff. -

Damn. This one sucks. James Gandolfini dead at 51. http://thegist.com/news/947/in-what-could-be-the-most-depressing-thing-about-the-soporano-s-since-the-finale-james-gandolfini-dead-at-51 -
For those who will be at the park on Friday. Not sure what rides will have ERT but worth checking out. http://www.sixflags.com/national/footernav/TakisHSN.aspx?fb_action_ids=557075121002398&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%7B%22557075121002398%22%3A621260461226895%7D&action_type_map=%7B%22557075121002398%22%3A%22og.likes%22%7D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D

Photo TR: Gilroy Gardens 6/16/13
Sir Clinksalot replied to Angry_Gumball's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great TR. Gilroy Gardens is great. It looks like some of that land in the back was just recently cleared, it certainly wasn't that open when I was last at the park. It's been a few years but can anybody confirm if that's a recent thing? I've always felt a nice family woody would do wonders for that park. And I agree about Rock Maze. During the TPR trip some people got lost in there so long I'm wondering if they are still in there. -

That ride looks cool. Dark Ride Coaster > Disneyland's Space Mountain!!! -
Went to the park on Saturday. Finally got to ride Superman. It's a fun ride. I didn't find it very intense at all though. But props to the ride crew. They were amazingly fast. Also saw the new Cirque show. I'm am NOT a fan of theme park shows but this one was absolutely great. Spoke with Capt. Lee and he mentioned they are trying to get the dolphin's more involved in this show which could only make the show even better.

Went to CGA yesterday and rode Gold Striker a few times. I thought it was great. Easily the best wooden coaster in CA (not like that's saying much) and probably the best GCI I've ridden (I've only ridden 6 so take that with a grain of salt). It's a really great addition to the park. The rest of the park ... needs some love.

I'm not a huge fan of having a gaming console replace my entertainment system. I will be quick to admit that I'm a home theater snob, I am running a very nice setup and have spent a lot of money doing so. I have a receiver that is doing all of my switching and no gaming console in the world is going to convince me to change my mind on that. In my eyes the game console is a very minor part my home theater (I use it for games alone, I've got a stand alone Blu-ray player). As of right now I do have a preorder in for a launch day PS4 from Amazon. All things considered I'm not 100% sure I'm going to keep that preorder at this point. Amazon doesn't charge anything for preordering a system, so I figured it didn't hurt to grab a spot. Same scenario here. I have my system set up a certain way and I don't need some game system telling me how to do it right. I was actually a semi-late adopter to the PS3 (about 1 1/2 years after release) and the original reason we got it was for the Blu Ray. I want to say we have maybe 8 or 9 games with 5 or 6 of them being CoD games that my son just doesn't play anymore. He isn't even interested in getting the newest one that's out. He's been pushing for a WiiU now because Super Smash Bros. is coming out. That will likely be the next system we get and then a PS4 probably in late 2014 and we'll move the PS3 in the bedroom.

We've been to all 4 parks in a day, but it wasn't our ONLY day at the parks (it was one out of 9) and we went to each park for a specific thing. We also had a car. Morning EMH at DAK Afternoon lunch at 50's Prime Time (DHS) Dinner at EPCOT Evening EMH at MK I think on this day we probably rode 5 or 6 things outside of EMH.

The NHL Discussion Thread

^ Agreed. And since I don't really care who wins it was nice to watch it as a fan of the game and not feel all the pressure that likely comes with a 3OT game in the Stanley Cup Final. -
