^ I totally agree about the kid acts. There are some good acts but IMO, last weeks live show was the worst since I started watching the show. There should have only been 1 or 2 that got through and the country guy absolutely didn't deserve it.

Like Joey said, when the Full Throttle plaza is done it could look good. It's just a shame it wasn't all ready to go when the ride open considering how much time the site looked like nothing was going on they certainly could have staffed some more people to get the landscaping and entry area done. Look at it this way ... we were all there for the loop topping off ceremony on April 11. They had the complete circuit done a few days later. Yes, there was a LOT of work still to be done on the LSM's, etc but there is NO reason why they couldn't have been working on the Full Throttle area (which as you remember was included with the press release as an entire new area), the queue, station, etc. Looking back through my pictures, even up to June 6 the area was still empty of anything. And then the ride opened on June 21. Pictures below to illustrate what I'm talking about. April 11 Almost the EXACT same shot from June 6 except for the piece of track.

^ All of the FB posts I was seeing from everybody last night made me extremely jealous and I had to just turn off my phone. -

^ Cool, thanks. That would be the day I'd most likely go depending on what wedding things there are that night. I'm not "in" the wedding so I should be able to sneak away. -

Great stuff so far!!! Hope you have better park experiences in Arkansas than you did at SFOT!!! Whoever thought that would ever be a statement that would need to be made? -

I may be going out to PA for a wedding in late September (and to move the rest of my Mom's stuff out there) and was thinking of doing the Halloween event. Not really for the Halloween stuff per-se' but for the park. Is it possible to see most of the park during the Halloween event? How is the Halloween event? -
I had a regular Coke for the first time in about 7 years last week. It tasted so good!!! I'll have another one in 7 years.

The Simpsons Tapped Out
Sir Clinksalot replied to COASTER FREAK 11's topic in Random, Random, Random
Krustyland should be fun. The only thing I see so far that's kind of annoying is that you have to keep going back and forth to Springfield to get people to do the tasks. They should just come over automatically when you click on the task. -
A lot of factors go into a ride getting 2 or 3 trains. For the most part, parks don't order more trains than can run on a ride at any given time. So Batman has always had 2 trains. Scream has 3. Riddlers has 3, Tatsu has 3. There are exceptions such as Ninja and I believe Viper that have more trains than they can run, or at least they did when those rides opened. In the case of Full Throttle, it could never run more than 2 trains due to the layout of the ride, so that is most likely why it only has 2. In the case of Apocalypse, I'm pretty sure that can also only run 2 trains. SFMM isn't the only park that does this. It's very rare these days that a park will order an "extra" train to have one available should something happen.

That early on Saturday you should be fine. I'd still give yourself 1 1/2 hours just to be on the safe side. Lots of construction going on these days. The only other hotel I'd recommend near Knott's (other than the Radisson) would be the Courtyard Marriott. Also within walking distance and easy access to the freeway.

I have to agree with the above about the operations of Full Throttle. They have been among the best in the park. Still not sure why Tatsu continues to be so hard for the park to figure out to operate. Or they just keep it that way because they know it pisses us off (because we are THAT important). Sad that the ride is running one train, I'll give them a pass for a few days, maybe a week but more than that with no visible work being done would not be good. It also wouldn't be surprising.

I don't think the issue with Iron Colossus would be with RMC, it would be with the trains. They could easily have another company design the trains like they did with Outlaw Run. I still say they should do one side original colossus and the other crazy. If that's one track with 2 lift hills, so be it.
-
^ 1) I think everybody is pretty certain that Iron Colossus is coming and that at the very least it will be 2015 2) Due to how delayed everything is at SFMM the past few years I think people are kind of sick of talking about 1 ride for a year or more 3) Full Throttle was a 20 month process from the day Log Jammer closed and I think people just have construction burn-out. I know I certainly do. 4) I honestly don't think there is going to be a major addition for 2014. Maybe a flat or two for SFMM and new slides for SFHH. I'll be absolutely thrilled with those but they don't really generate a whole lot of rumors like a coaster would.

^ I can see both sides of it. These contracts contain so much legalese which is why you hire an agent/lawyer to help you realize what it says in plain English. On the other side, this isn't like the iTunes agreement or a job contract for you or I that deals in thousands of dollars, this is in the millions. Even with all of the legalese I would have taken some time to read the thing. Then if something didn't make sense you ask about it and the agent would catch it. Unfortunately it seems this isn't the first issue this agent has had so hopefully Tarrell has some kind of legal ground to stand on. Of course the team could restructure his contract as well, which is a possibility. I normally don't feel bad for multi-millionaires but this isn't like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady missing out on a couple of million. This is a substantial amount of his salary. -

Tarrell Brown loses $2 million for not showing up for OTA's. Ouch http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9510573/san-francisco-49ers-tarell-brown-loses-2m-skipped-workout -
If they are resurrecting Hatchet High in some way that could only be a good thing. Still one of my all-time favorite Haunt mazes. As for the CGA/SFDK comparison (I know I'm late to the party on this one) On my recent SFDK trip we only rode 3 rides, Superman, V2 and Sky Screamer. Due to previous visits didn't really have any desire to ride anything else and we didn't want to wait for the horrible operations that still plague Medusa (for some inexplicable reason). We did however see the Tiger show and the new Cirque show and enjoyed them both tremendously. We also did a few of the animal attractions (sharks, etc). So if you like animal shows and animals then you'll enjoy SFDK. And if it's your first visit then you'll want to ride more than we did, obviously. While I think that CGA is improving (Gold Striker is awesome) it still has a ways to go. CGA right now reminds me of Knott's about 3 years ago. They are on the "cusp" of becoming a great park. They just need to go that extra step in improving some more infrastructure and maybe 1 or 2 more attractions to get them there. Not even coasters necessarily but the whole stretch from Gold Striker to Drop Tower really is a lot of nothing. Replacing Vortex with something like a Maverick style coaster would put CGA on the map instantly. All that said, I think I agree with most everybody else. With the added waterpark and great package of flat/water rides I'd go with CGA.
