As anybody who's ridden LL:DOD can tell you, the ascent is actually much scarier than the descent. I finally got to ride it when Superman launched and it really does add a whole other element to the ride. I kept waiting for it to stop shaking and before I could think we were already dropping. And all of the people riding on the same side as me were talking about the shaking more than the drop. I can imagine that the shaking will be even more on this drop tower. I still say LL:DOD should add rotating cars that make you drop head first.

Gregg, Just read your SFMM update on that "other" fan site. Do you think any of the outages you reported will affect ERT next week? Is Apocalypse still closed? And X2 possibly down as well? Yikes! All these summer operations issues has me a little worried. LOL, I don't think MiceChat is a bad word around here. It's ok. As for the closures impacting WCB, I honestly have no idea.

While I'm stoked for the new slides (always wanted to try these ones) there are only 2? I'm guessing these will be replacing the white towers slide tower? I really wanted to see a multi slide tower to replace the White/Black slide towers that have been there too long. Hopefully some other work will go on at the waterpark as well. As for the expanded hours and dive in movies ... I'm totally sold on that. It's obvious that the kids expansion is going where Metro/Flashback was, that's the only logical place unless they are getting rid of Whistlestop Depot. It's nice to see them expanding the kids area. Notice how they put that Colossus would be backwards next "spring".

^^ I hate to say it, but that may be the best thing for the ride if they take the time to put some work into it. I'm under the belief that SFMM should close every year after FF and reopen for Spring Break. They don't do a whole lot for the holidays like Disney and Knott's and the park is very seldom busy during that time (except for things like Key Club Day). If they had an offseason the hope would be that they'd do all of their refurbishments then that way thing would be up and running all summer and at full capacity. Yes, a lot of wishful thinking.

Mini park update from yesterday. Overall it didn't seem like the park was very busy but the lines for FT, Jet Stream and Roaring Rapids were long. Did single rider on LL:DOD and they didn't fix the grease issue as I noticed after I left the park. If you are planning on riding it during WCB best to wear a black shirt. Also rode Colossus, trying to get in as many rides as possible, just in case. Permanent railings up in parking lot for the buses. If you are in the first lot, way faster to walk. Took almost 10 minutes to get to the entry using the bus. This was the ONLY piece of Fright Fest construction I saw Half permanent queue, half temporary. Better than nothing. New stilt walker. You're welcome. Scream is still running only 1 train. Better than nothing. Longest Jet Stream line I've seen in awhile. Even the bulldozer wants help. Apocalypse is closed. Didn't see any work going on. Not better than nothing.
