  1. ^ In the episode it's pretty much the same thing. In the episode Moe changes his tavern to "Flaming Moe's" because it's become trendy. Not sure how it's set up in the park, but looks like it's an entirely different location than Moe's tavern so they have somewhere to sell the Flaming Moe.
  2. Totally agreed. Despite all of the additions to the Orlando property over the last few years I still think USH is Universals flagship park in the US, mainly due to the "studios" component.
  3. Agreed about Colossus. There is only 1 spot where it's bumpy and that's the double-up just before the 2nd turn-around. Other than that it's actually pretty smooth these days.
  4. ^^ Again with the Potter "not being popular in 4-5 years" talk? Even people who aren't big fans of Potter realize that it's popularity isn't going anywhere.
  5. ^ I've heard that only the "First click" counts if you have a parkhopper/AP.
  6. Looking at the numbers a few things stand out for CA: Yes, DCA's 22% is impressive, but I actually think USH's 15% is more impressive due to the fact that it's just for 1 ride, not a fully re-designed park and an entire new land. Imagine what's going to happen when Potterland opens? And really, DCA's is really 21% if you subtract the 1% Disneyland lost. Also, both were only open 6 months. Next years will reveal staying power. Waterparks seem to be having the most innovation recently and it's sad that the CA waterparks just don't seem to be catching on. None are in the top 20 Worldwide and the only one in the top 20 in North America is Raging Waters. The market is ripe for something new!!! Odd that Knott's dropped 4%. I fully expect that number to increase this year though. I'm sure that 4% can be directly attributed to the fact that all SoCal parks had major additions last year except for Knott's. The 4% increase at SFMM probably means the Xtreme park is here to stay. I'm really happy to see the inclusion of Museums this year.
  7. My son doesn't really flaunt it by wearing shirts nor does he sit online for hours watching videos, etc. He's more into video games anyway. He just likes to go to parks and ride rides, that's about it. Being an enthusiast for anything can bring ridicule if you take it too far. I don't think any of his friends know that he's ridden 164 coasters. LOL.
  8. I'm going to guess that Undertow won't be open prior to my visit up north next weekend. Guess that just means I'll have to head back up there later this summer.
  9. Queens of the Stone Age - My God is the Sun (really digging the new album so far)
  10. Can't wait to ride the new additions this Sunday and of course the updated Log Ride. Thanks for the update.
  11. First Maze Announcement ... Forevermore. Already wishing for the end of summer. I can smell the fog now!!!
  12. ^^ Exactly. This isn't the first time this has happened in recent memory. Green Lantern opened on 7/1, LL:DOD opened just before July 4th. Even Road Runner Express was delayed for over a year. If you look back on opening dates for the park, it's only been over the past few years that they've not been open prior to Memorial Day or even Spring Break. According to RCDB: Apocalypse: 5/23/09 Batman: 3/26/94 Goliath: 2/11/00 Ninja: 5/21/88 Riddlers: 4/4/98 Scream: 4/12/03 Superman: 3/15/97 (even the reopening at S:EFK was in Feb) Tatsu: 5/13/06 Viper: 4/7/90 And then you have the last 3 now in late June/early July (at least). Obviously something is going on.
  13. Apparently there is some Haunt news coming out today. Just posted on the Knott's Scary Farm FB page: "Did you hear that? I thought heard someone rapping on the door." A maze based off of Edgar Allan Poe?
  14. ^ The "Local AP Crowd" in FL is VERY different than the local crowd in CA. There just aren't as many locals that have them. In fact, I think I know more people who live outside of FL that are WDW AP holders than people who live in FL and are WDW AP holders.
  15. Need to find a way to get FL residency and buy FL Resident AP.
  16. Log Jammer closed on Oct 31, 2011. That's almost 2 years now. The site sat there, empty for close to a year. By Feb 5, 2012 Log Jammer was totally gone. They didn't start clearing the trees, taking down the buildings and digging holes for Full Throttle until around November 20, 2012. That's 9 months that the site just sat there ... empty. Even IF the crew couldn't get over there until after LL:DOD opened that still would have been 4 months between the opening of LL:DOD and when they actually started. 2/5/12 11/20/12
  17. We decided long ago that we weren't renewing our passes. It wasn't really because of the price but more that life is so busy we just don't go enough to justify the price anymore. I mean, I was just looking through pictures to find the monstro picture for the "rides that eat you thread" and decided to see how many visits we've actually had in the past 8 or so years. 2005 = 5 / 2006 = 11 / 2007 = 22 / 2008 = 25 / 2009 = 26 / 2010 = 13 / 2011 = 11 / 2012 = 4 / 2013 = 3 (all on one weekend in Jan) 120 visits over the last 8 years is enough for awhile I think.
  18. Great thread!! First one that came to mind was Storybook Canal Boats at Disneyland.
  19. Hitchcock Great movie about Albert Hitchcock's life around the time period he was making Psycho with a lot of cool bits about the making of the movie and his relationship with his wife. Anthony Hopkins was PERFECT as Hitchcock. I kind of wish it would have been more of a full-fledged biography but concentrating the movie on that time period still did reveal a lot about him. Definitely recommended if you are a fan of Hitchcock or Psycho.
  20. No, it's going to have a tent like thing over the top according to the concept art.
  21. Just got a text from them saying the same!!! Can't wait to ride in 2 weeks.
  22. Thanks for the review Joey. I've also never been to this park but can we get Busch to take over the Soak City at Knott's too? Looks great and will be awaiting to see where the park goes the next few years. Certainly has a lot of potential.
  23. I'd like to know what disability those two people who are charging people to use their GAC have.
  24. Honestly, I'd rather them close the Sky Jump than put the sit-down seats on it like the existing ones (is there only 1 left now at SFGAdv?). The one at Knott's was so unique and fun. I do miss it.
  25. Yeah, that's what I figured. Considering I'm running the SF Marathon the following day I'll likely be skipping anything that could injure me or make me more sore than I'll be the following day.
