Aside from the dive parts, how is the rest of the coaster different from any other sit down B&M? Why would they simply want to add another looping coaster? SFMM has stated that they are looking to complement their collection not necessarily have the most coasters, which is why added the rather mediocre Scream.

That report only says together both parks had more than 5 million guests. Tea Connect reported SC had 372,000 guests in 2015 up 4,000 from 2014. If both parks had 5.5 million that's an overall increase of 1,449,000. If only 4,000 of that was SC that means KBF had an increase of 1,445,000 for 5,128,000. That's a 39% increase for Knott's alone. Still impressive.

I have a hard time believing that the number doesn't include Soak City....a 65% increase in attendance is unheard of in the industry. For Reference, if you look at the TEA report from 2007 and then look at 2015, even the Disney parks have only grown by 2-3million guests over that entire 8 year time span. Some key openings: Diagon Alley only increased UO attendance by 17% according to the TEA. The original WWoHP was reported as creating a 30% gain for IoA. Carsland did 22% for DCA. So 65% for Iron Reef, a new (admittedly awesome) food festival, and refurbished classic rides? Not buying it. 5.5 million minus 3.6 million is 1.9 million which is 52% of 3.6 million, not 65%, but yes still an unbelievable increase. Then again consider last year you could get into KBF for $45 bucks. Every Dennys and BK in SoCal had coupins. Now put that against $99 bucks for just one of the Disney parks. I can see many local families driving a little father on the 91 and getting off at Beach Blvd.

The OC Register is reporting KBF park attendance, not resort attendance, was 5.5 million in 2015 up from 3.6 million in 2014. We were all assuming that number included Soak City, but not according to them. If that's true then, WOW! That's a 52% increase. Even USF only had 30% when Harry Potter's Wizarding World opened.

Water coaster is such a misnomer. So it's a rather crappy crappy roller coaster that has a water splashdown. Whoopie. -
Sorry I'm not reading 19 pages of comments so if this has already been said I'm sorry. If you put a coin on your knee while on drop rides it will float and you can catch it again at the bottom. But if it hits someone in the head it will kill them. (I actually have a scar from where a nickel hit my arm while waiting for Supreme Scream.)

What's crazy that in most states portable rides have to be inspected more often than fixed ones. I don't know about other states but here in CO there is a park that requires riders to sign a liability waiver that actually says, and I quote, "THE UNDERSIGNED agree and understand that there are risks associated with strenuous physical exertion and with participating in the ACTIVITY and that falls, INJURIES AND/OR DEATH may result from engaging in the ACTIVITY or any of them." glenwoodcaverns.com/pdfs/Release_Form.pdf Some of these I understand as it is located on a mountain and one of the attractions are limestone caverns. But this waiver actually covers ride failure and operator error. It's crazy. To date there have been no incidents but this still can't be legal.

You gotta watch them all you can eat steak and shrimp joints. No seriously those rides freak me out. It's way too easy to loosen the restraint bar. I'm surprised there aren't more of these accidents, but I'm not going to assume it was the carnival. Some of these kids will do everything they can to heighten their thrill experience. I've seen people blow their gut out and lean forward on Supreme Scream when the ride operator pushed the restraint shut then blow the air out and lean back once they have moved on so they float more.

The ride vehicle looks a lot like the vehicle on Cannibal at Lagoon. Lagoon said that 70% of Cannibal was designed and built in house but I wonder how much of the ride was the other 30%? The Scandia Screamer is a real head chopper. I think it even has a height max. My friend is 6'4" and he couldn't ride.

By the way, the best thing to happen to Knott's Berry Farm was Disneyland. Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet, the former President of Disneyland Resort, knew that KBF was never meant to be a coaster thrill park and desired to bring it back to it's family focused roots. Ouimet is the mind behind the restorations of Ghost Town, Timber Mountain Log Ride, Calico Mine Ride, and Ghost Rider. GR had gotten so bad that Knott's had been considering demolishing the classic woodie. Ouimet said no. I look forward to seeing where America's First Theme Park goes from here.
