Shane's Amusement Attic
ratdogg68 replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have ridden both rides and they're both very fun for their time. They had those and more at local fairs all my childhood, the same company still operates some of the other rides at our local fairs. -
When did you work there Gobigmac, I worked there also 94 and later.

Seems poor Katilyn has had another setback LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville teen who was severely injured on a ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is recovering from additional surgery performed over the weekend. Doctors reportedly removed some bone from the end of Katilyn Lasitter's left leg. NewsChopper 32 flew over the Superman Tower of Power ride, where part of her right leg was severed last summer. Crews appear to be in the early stages of dismantling the ride SFKK, really needs to do all they can for Katilyn, this has changed her life forever

I'm really digging these updates. I had that same Chance catalog, I used to write the companies and tell them I was doing a report for school. Do you by any chance have anything on S.D.C. from Italy? Keep it up, all this old stuff is good to help with the winter time blues. -
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom New for 08

This is good to hear, they need to focus on the waterpark for now, get people's attention off the rides. Deluge was a great new waterpark attraction this past summer, that got over shadowed by a bad accident. -
Loving this PTR, not just coasters but behind the scenes as well, Good one Lou. Good way to pass the winter time blues.

Oh the aches and pains that brings back. They used to have that ride at the KY. State Fair, I remember riding it like it was yesterday, it was a horrible experience. Great video and PTR , helps with the Holiday blues. -

WOW man, great PTR. Loved the sunset pics and yes, we all should pay "Homage" to the sun. Looks like you had a wonderful time. -
Great trip down memory lane. I worked at Opryland from 94 til it closed. Was one of the best times of my life. I worked in the Petting Zoo and loved my job. It was a great experience many memories and good friends. Thank you for the memories. Side note: The Tin Lizzy cars are still poking around at SFKK

A Christmas Carousel, because Pat has always wanted one, in place of the old theater, that they didn't use this summer and probably a Deluge type water coaster, between Bakuli and Bahari. -

This is a sad thing to hear of anyone who's only 25, and had so many goals in life. I have seen him around on other forums also. Set up that donation and I'll give, for him and the animals. -
Very nice PTR, love the last pic from the campground, very relaxing shot. Love the old " Sky Diver" pics, was one of my favorite rides growing up, don't see many of them anymore. Looks like you had a good weekend.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to HW, it's my favorite park, been there 4 times this summer and going back Tue the 7. Would much rather go there than Kentucky Kingdom, and even CP. For anyone it's much more affordable than most other parks, free-drinks, parking, sun screen and tubes in the water park, and their food is very reasonable and just as good if not better than the other parks. The Voyage is my # 2 coaster, just doesn't let up -
Opryland USA Remnants 2007
ratdogg68 replied to TheRapidsNerd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice little stroll down memory lane. I worked at Opryland in 94, early part of 95 and 1996. I worked in the Petting Zoo. That blacktop walk was our walkway from the wardrobe dept. Would walk that path every morning to get into the park for work. Sad to see all that remains is the Grizzly river. Thanks for the stroll...,,, I miss my Goats -

Photo TR: Coaster Palooza 2007 Continues!!!
ratdogg68 replied to Coaster Palooza's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Really great TR, brought back some old memories. When I was growing up I had a "second" family, that lived down the road from me, I spent a lot of time with them. On one of the trips I went on with them was a summer in Philly. We spent 9 weeks in philly, did the tours and seen the liberty bell, even went with a girl to her shool one day, big nightmare. The thing we did the most was drive to the coast, I spent about 35 days, off and on, on the boardwalk that summer loved it. This brought back some good memories. Thanks for a stroll down memory lane.
