  1. Sorry, it posted twice, don't know how. I only hit submit once.
  2. Actually, this is true. Salt water tanks do have some set up process to go through before they can drop most fish in. My cousin has had several, and they always have to put this one thing in before anything else, and let it run. The finished product will be amazing I am sure! Now, anyone who has gone through the queue so far - will they allow cameras if there is a non rider with you? My son does not ride, but I will not leave him outside alone. He will wait on the line with me (especially a long one) He can carry my camera and just wait at the exit when we go through. Anyone's opinion on this?
  3. Big Mike, you seriously need to play lotto! Mega Millions, something! You may just win! This weekend was really nasty out. Good thing you scrapped any plans for parks. Saturday was salvagable, however not much of it was. You always figure something to do!
  4. Awesome camera choice! I went with the Nikon D40x over the Canon 40D. I can only hope that my dark shots come out as well. I only started messing with those features recently, like with candle shots. Did you use a tripod? My worry is I take pictures way too quickly for this stuff to be clear! I love the Leona shot, and the ToT shots! Great PTR!
  5. OH MY! I am away from the PC for a week, and I come back, Manta is soft opening on Monday, and HRRR has its track completed! What a glorious day! There is hope that it will be running for my trip after all! YAY!
  6. Awesome photos! I agree, the 110 is an awesome camera! I got one for my daughter recently. There are so many features on it, and if you are not on the right setting, it def gets all weird. (But hey, sometimes that is cool!) I happen to really like that last one. Great PTR!
  7. I never realized that part of the ride went below ground level! Glad to see part I of the fail is fixed too. Oh well, I guess it will not be open for my trip in July. I guess I will just have to take some kick @$$ pictures for everyone instead. ::sigh:: I will keep my fingers crossed though. If I am lucky, maybe they will have a soft open by then. With the (was it approx two?) sections of the track that seem to not be accounted for... who knows. But funny, the pieces that were said to be missing, is where I "imagined" the Maverick track going. LOL. *Great pictures everyone!
  8. Wow, I must say time is flying by and before you know it, I will be on KK with Big Mike! I do not want to rush it though, I need to go to Orlando for vacation first! I hope that there is a Mikestery card placed in SFGA, and that it is posted the day before I go! I have a feeling I have no other chance to get one otherwise! And yes, on to the duckies!!! I cannot wait to actually participate this time! I am fully caught up on reading and can guess with the rest! Hey Big Mike, did you happen to notice the prices at the gate of SFGA? I know with the camera malfunctions that day, there were no pics. I was looking forward to checking out if they had that 6 for 1 special they ran two years in a row again, or anything similar. That was a great deal for me, because I wasn't sure if I was going more than once. It is even better for my son actually, because he does not ride coasters yet. I only wish I could get him to ride SOMETHING!
  9. I always love Erik's pics, and I had a feeling you had an eye for awesome stuff too! I look forward to more! Although I am not a huge b/w fan, they look great! B/w gives it this extra crisp look. I especially love that log flume pic. I do agree with the sepia look a few posts earlier. (Sorry, I forgot to quote, I am really bad at that.) I think this park may look extra special in sepia. It would give it that extra old west feel! lol. And yes...how many takes did you have to get that picture?
  10. I agree, VOLT definitely deserves the card. Between no one else showing they found it, going there first, actually taking pics while there, and now for being such a great sport regarding all the "NO" PM's/emails, he definitely deserves it! I don't understand why anyone would say not to give it to him, but hey, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Too bad we never got to see them though, so they shouldn't count in the voting! (Hey, I tried!) Mike, hope that game was fun. Can't wait for pics. Living in NY, and never having been to the old stadium (yes, shame on me, considering my hubby is a yankee fan) - hopefully one day I will be lucky enough to go to the new stadium!
  11. Keith, that's some "sweet" PTR! I am also looking forward to an August trip this year. I already have my hotel booked! Last years trip was kind of a disaster, as I didn't know much about the park layout, we really didn't make it halfway through! >:O They really do squeeze lots of stuff into small spaces!
  12. I am totally in love with just about every wallpaper, except the odd gator. But I am from NY, so it is ok. I wish I could borrow someones photoshop skills and make some of my pics (or future pics) that awesome! Thank you all for posting that! I look forward to more in the future. Maybe one day I will get that CS3 going and put it to good use!
  13. So students, the moral of this story is to not drive 3.5 hours to a park when it is expected to rain - even if it is a little, that there must be a certain amount of riders/weight on coaster so we do not valley and have to be dismantled in uncomfortable situations, and Oh yes, and every park must have cheese...on a stick! (yummy yummy!) Really, I can not believe that this went on for about 17 pages now. I also cannot believe I have read 17 pages of this! I guess there is entertainment in misery?
  14. Great Trip Report Big Mike! I always love Sea World! I especially loved the big fish kiss pic! lol I had my DVR recording the crowning of the Queen, but then my son revealed that he messed with the settings and it didn't tape after all. Oh well, there is always next time! Can't wait for the next installment of the BMRS, and for the duckies to start rolling in! P.S. We cancelled Oneill's for Friday, but moved it to 05/29/09!
  15. LMAO! That was great! Speaking of great, awesome PTR! I was drooling! lol I loved all your pics!!!!!! edit: had to take out that bandwith exceeded image, sorry! (and in the process screwed up the quote box!)
  16. IF this were true, and it sounds like it is - going up the lift in a heartline wouldn't technically be going upside down, correct?
  17. Wow... nice! Thank you for posting that video! That angle is awesome. It is funny, because as you panned back the other way, I was watching the first train disappear, I then noticed a second train already making its way up the lift as mentioned. I hope they can keep that up once the GP starts to board. I must watch it again when I get home! (I am at work, and I was watching it... OOOOooo!!! lol) I am so in love with this ride! That pretzle loop looks yummy! I think the Zero car paint job is ok. Not the best, IMO. I actually was hoping for a different design for each car. I like when they can stand out on their own. Yes, there are some sort of pin mechanisms at work there. On Superman: UF, I remember seeing them. But everything locks into place nicely. There is also a safetly mechanism that stops the train even if say your foot is not in the correct place up the lift. That kind of sucks for the GP waiting in lthe queue because it can take a bit for them to get the "trolly" (I do not know the name of it) up to fix it (This one probably has the same system I would imagine - which starts at the base of the lift, and it rises up under the lift for such situations), but better safe than sorry, right? I am a total nut when it comes to feeling safe on coasters. I actually only started riding in 2005 as partially a result of that. I always felt super safe on Superman: UF.
  18. 1. Janice. I agree, there seems to be a crush going around! (Or maybe that is just a rumor!) 2. Beeja, because I think you guys hit it off. 3. Bobbie Jo, because her cat is named after my all time fave movies!
  19. My last visit it was actually raining pretty hard! I got to ride El Toro, Batman, Nitro, Medusa (which won't be open until the end of May)...some flats I never get to ride. It's mucho fun minus all the pelting rain in your face! It can hurt! I got lots of funny pics that day too. I put my camera in a clear plastic bag, and that worked really well! Plus we got the Batman ponchos. I think if you are coming from far, to maybe rethink it if there will be bad weather, because you never know, and KK will surely be closed.
  20. You guys were pulling me in several directions before! That would be cool I think. I look forward to seeing any mods on this one.
  21. Wait a minute, did I miss something? I must have... heartline roll into the lift? I feel confused... CTU Agent, I am definitely with you! At least they are building something new. While I will be upset if it does not open prior to my visit in July, I originally didn't plan it around that, and it will be an excuse to revisit sooner than later!
  22. Yep, I had a feeling about those travel times. I think my hotel hopping idea may be a great idea after all! Thanks Sir Clinksalot! I will definitely take that into consideration when booking my trip. (Is that just rush hour type traffic or regular non rush hour traffic?)
  23. This is a trip that I have been planning and dying to take myself. I have noticed that most people seem to be mentioning the people that are rude etc..extra time. On another, possibly more important note, I have researched the driving times, and from Anaheim to San Diego was about 90 minutes SOUTH. To go to Universal was about 40 minutes NORTH of Anaheim. I am not sure where SFMM was in relation to any of that because my original plans did not include that park. (Don't know what I was thinking! lol) It is lots of driving around, and not like you would be in Orlando, where everything is relatively close. I deffinitely suggest renting a car. As far as traffic and how long it will actually take, I have no clue. Just leave with extra time to spare. I originally wanted to hotel hop. Fly in and go straight to San Diego for a few nights, then to Anaheim, then to the US area, then drive to the airport on the final day - or something like that. It really depends on my husband, and if he cares about the hotel hopping. But in the end, it may just be easier to do that than to drive back and forth every day. Here are useful links just in case you weren't aware of it: http://www.gosandiegocard.com/sandiego-attractions.html http://www.citypass.com/city/socal.html Don't forget, the passes are a great savings if you want to do everything while there! I cannot wait to see your PTR, as this will let me know how to better plan for my (eventual) SoCal trip!
  24. Another great "HPTR" Hanno! Thanks for sharing! I absolutely love your pics, as always. Blue Fire looks so cool! I am wishing I were there right now to ride! I am hoping to learn from your reports and try and pay more attention to the coasters on my trips this year. Looking back at the pics I take of parks, I never really get the different coaster elements. >:O I also have to say, I find myself enjoying all those nerd shots.
  25. An arm? (A Kuka that is!!) OK, so I am posting here too! I just could not resist that comment! Again, great update!
