Hey! Im not one for creating topics, but I keep on going past the folder of a scan I took of a button - from when I was about 5, at Circus World. You know... the clown painted face picture. Im sure everyone who went there as a kid had one. But that is it. I have nothing else, not even memories! All the pics were somehow lost moving from California to NY. Last night I was going through my aunt's vacation pics from 1985, and they went there also. And in those pictures, were coasters! I didnt think that it was that type of park. So since I have no recollection, I was hoping that everyone can share theirs, and maybe it may jar some deep surpressed memory. What I know, it later became Boardwalk and Baseball, or something like that... This is a little history. http://www.lostparks.com/cwld.html I gotta know more!!! coasters at Circus World? my only Circus World memory

Yes, such a sexy coaster. That pretzle loop (it is one, right?) is calling my name. I can guarantee if its open when I go in July, I will be there the second the park opens just to ride it without a crazy line! I totally cannot wait for all the theming to go up! The queue should definitely be something interesting to go through! I notice the switched signs back to summer seem to be staying now. Hopefully that changes. (OR, hopefully they consider the first week of July summer!!)

I most definitely love Medusa. It is one of my three favorite coasters at SFGA. I totally enjoyed the lack of lines, as I got to ride it over and over again. When I last rode it, it was very smooth. Granted it was kind of raining.... LOL A revamp is extremely cool though. I love the blue track! At this point, I dont care what they do with other colors. I just want a great ride experience. I cant wait to hear what they do for the retheming though. A new name... very interesting. After getting up to speed, and reading the 18 pages of updates, I went to the DC site, and tried to maybe figure a character that goes with that blue. None really do. Not any popular ones anyhow. Very interesting that they are totally holding out on us until Spring. I look forward to new updates!

Oh yeah, I definitely agree! El Toro is not your average run of the mill woodie. I like that better than Nitro! I am not all up on who makes what - but those of you in doubt, let's just see what SFMM and Terminator have to offer once it opens. They may just shock you! Let's just hope that the theming does not fall to the wind, as I noticed in most Six Flags parks after some time...

WOW! I honestly didn't expect the dragons to come out at all. Hopefully they are just taking them out to not damage them, or maybe to repaint them and get them ready for the retheming. They may need them out of the area to continue their construction. As I have only been through the queue line a few times, and quite quickly at that. I did kinda stop to gaze at the dragons chaos along the way though. (ice here, burnt stuff there, crushed doorways...) I think that HP may not change the visuals too much as I think it fits already. If they took out some of the skulls and skeletons, and replaced it with more HP type stuff, that would be cool. Of course there are things that should be replaced, like the book for the cup, etc. It can definitely be done very simply, to fit in with HP though.

Hershey for me is just a hard park to get around. It took me a few hours to make it to the mine train area, and all I got to ride was Great Bear - which I loved! Next time I go back, I have a plan that should work! (I think) Everything seems so on top of each other, and poorly laid out to me. And sure, they can fit three more coasters in that spot! (the more room comment) Thanks for the pics! I always love to see what I have missed!

Great TR so far! I love the HYPER shot! Great to see all the other stuff that people do on trips! What type of camera did you purchase, if you don't mind my asking? -

Most awesome! Loved your Farenheit pics! I have been trying to figure out if I wanted to take my kids to Dorney or Hershey at the end of August. I think after what I read about Dorney craziness this year, Hershey will be it!! Thanks for sharing! -
Yeah, I was at the park Tues & today. They were ripping it down, and I found myself saying... what was that? Glad my questions were answered, because I was going to tear through past pictures once I got home tomorrow night. P.S. Fire, Ice and Hulk are FINALLY under my belt!! (remember I was chicken for EVER!) Final shot. You ever notice how they make the fences JUST out of the cameras reach? So, these are the after shots Thursday 7/31 It's so weird seeing this happen but I still can't wait to see the outcome! Behind the fence Different angles... So, this would be the before shots Tuesday 7/29

Photo TR - 2 Week Orlando Marathon
Lenaapple1974 replied to window's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Glad to see you had a decent day at Sea World! I wont be going back until next year, so it is awesome to see the TR! I will be watching for the rest of your report! -
Wow - very nice!!!! The official annoucement. I cannot wait to see the track go up. I will be watching intently on the construction updates! As far as the pretzle loop, I have only been on Superman's Ultimate Flight at SFGA. My sister taught me a trick to not falling back in the seat. Think Americas Next Top Model, and put the small of your back into the seat, then make your shoulders meet the bar. It makes for a much comfortable pretzle loop trip. I also exhale while going down. We actually would do the Superman pose for the camera when it used to be on the bottom of the loop. It took me a few times to get it.... I couldnt imagine Tatsu's! Its like double Superman! Maybe Manta will be in between? With a 52" height restriction... who knows. Tatsu = 124' pretzle loop Superman = 78' pretzle loop

Why was everyone was having trouble finding a tie in between DD and HP? I don't know, but maybe it is just me - I think it would be totally easy to fit DD in with the new stuff - and with minimal change! True it was 4 dragons in the Tri-Wizard Tournament, but it easily can be switched over. (Maybe this can be where the forest area mentioned earlier can have caged dragons? Just me dreaming up a scenario now..lol) I have personally never been inside on this ride though... (As I used to be chicken and haven't been back yet) so I do not know what is in there to change. Any which way you look at it... the Lost Continent to me will be 10 times better once the change is complete. It is one of my least favorite lands to walk through. Does anyone know when the soft opening is? I have to plan my trip around that next year.

PTR: The Dark Knight Coaster Media Event

Awesome! I love a ride with good theming. I wish that Six Flags would bring in more theming to their rides. When I am at a Disney park, or a Busch Gardens park - there is something about the awesome theming that just makes me want to return over and over. It's just too bad that they seem to not be able to keep up with the little stuff they did manage to put into the park. Hopefully they can maintain it. My son should actually be able to ride this. He 13 and just hit 54 inches this past summer, but has yet to get the courage for anything more than Runaway Train. He even told me that Skull Mountain changed the drop... I told him it's exactly the same lame ride.. Just imagine the horror when I told him El Toro's height requirement! So it will be a pleasure to go to the park, and have him ride SOMETHING with me. -
Cedar Point Photo Trip Report
Lenaapple1974 replied to snoodog's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Don't you hate it when you go to post, then it asks you again for your password? I did that - and lost everything I wrote! Take 2: And make sure that you use proper grammar too! i.e. Capitals at the beginning of a sentence, and do not use computer shortcut words. Great photos! But they definitely need to be smaller. The rules are there for a reason.... I can help if you need me to. Very simple. Right click on the picture. Click on edit. It should open up in paint. Then go to the "tab" that says image. Click on stretch/skew. Take the numbers down to about 50% on each horizontal and vertical. You may have to play around with the sizes to get it right - so the first time may take a few times. Then, save AS, and rename it something different. You do not want to loose your original. Also, make sure you save it to a place you won't forget. The desktop is best. This way you won't confuse it with something else, and it is easy to find to dispose of later on. Hope that helps! Can't wait to see them smaller so I can see the entire picture. Then finally - I was about to post a topic regarding Cedar Point. I want to start to plan a trip there, but have no clue what to do. Can anyone tell me what airport is close by? This will help me out tremendously! -
im not understanding why the above comment was posted. please school me on the reasoning behind the "last warning" comment - as i read the entire topic between monday and tuesday, and didnt see anything stating a first warning... im sorry if i dont understand why. i did re read the link (rules) again too, just to be sure, and i still didnt do anything wrong... we went off topic for a second..and not even really - b/c we were comparing the other flying costers. ....and im still fixated on any information anyone has about Manta. ADMIN EDIT: You've been warned before about lack of capitalization, over capitalization, and text grammar. Twice today both through posts and PMs. but totally back to topic --> i found this on youtube... The ride seems slow...just like Superman. Doesnt show a water splash effect once it hits the water either. And it seems the pretzle loop will be in it...which is good - im excited about that. Cant wait to see actual on ride footage! Does anyone know how acurate these computer generated rides are for speed purposes?
-
LOL...i know. i do think superman is very slow...and short. they made tatsu bigger and better by far. that pretzle loop is my favorite element in superman. they used to have the camera at the bottom of it. lol. fun faces there! you are making me want to go back to cali early! hopefully manta will be big!!! then i can get my fix earlier...BUT...being a more family oriented place...probably not... but its still fun! cant wait to see how they accomplish the water spurts!

Wow...I have been out of the loop for just over a month...and look what I miss! I have been reading this thread on and off for hours now...(cuz I was at work) I tried to skip pages, but then none of it made sense and I had no clue what was going on! lol...well, reason for writing is to find out if anyone has heard anything new about this...and did anyone hear about the official announcement? I go to SFGA all the time, and while Superman is a short ride, it is my favorite type of coaster in the park. I've been dying to get to Tatsu...but that wont happen for about 2 more years... I had planned a trip to Florida this July - but had to cancel it...until next year! Now things definitely happen for a reason!!! ADMIN EDIT: A lack of use of the Shift key seems to be running rampant today. C'mon people. - Matt

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Lenaapple1974 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
some topics just go on forever! Last coaster for me was Batman in SFGA on 10/27/07. You gotta love it when the ride closes due to whatever, then everyone walks off the line, and not even ten minutes later its up and running and you are at the front of the line!
