  1. Hi all! I spent a great deal of time reading this topic looking for anything that could help on my perspective trip to VA next year. I recently found my cousin whom I haven't seen in about twenty years. He just happens to live in Glen Allen. So now, I must visit Busch and KD. Hey, I have got to take advantage of the opportunity, right? So now, I am very interested in any tips or places to stay (suites preferred, having a kitchen etc.) I truly hope they plan a hyper for 2010! (Just sayin', lol) Is there any specific time between May and September that would be the best to go? I would like to also take advantage of the water park(s) while I am there too. Any ideas? In the meantime, I am off to look for KD PTRs! Thanks in advance for any tips/info.
  2. At this rate, they can start testing in under a month! It is great seeing piece by piece go up! Thank you everyone for the updates! That video was cool! I have never seen a coaster being put together. No matter what, Memorial day weekend will likely be crowded. If they both open up on the same day, think of it this way - The crowd may be diverted (or say half) to the park "you" are not in. If one opened at a time, then everyone would be at that specific opening, at once. I do agree with the coaster enthusiasts as opposed to the people never having rode a flying coaster though. There will definitely be a split there. For me, I am doing both the weekend I am down there. Cannot wait to hear how the crowds are. I am (almost unfortunately) going the week of the fourth.
  3. The wings - from Hooters? The chip with the phrase on it reminded me of that. I took a pic of a bunch of them cuz it was just very funny last time I went. I sure hope you are having lots of fun on your multiple destination trip!
  4. I threw in a search for project strongarm, looking for any type of HP updates, and came across this pic of the kuka (spelling?) arm coaster thing... I never saw this before. Not too sure if what I was reading was true, as it was early on in the posts from the beginning of the announcement. I have been trying to follow the updates here also, and have definitely skipped pages because there are so many and I cannot remember where I left off, so I apologize in advance if it has been posted. But seeing the last two pages here and the link given with the two seater Kuka, it seems this MAY be true after all..?? I'm not sure, but it is different, that is for sure! I definitely cannot wait to see the outcome of this entirely magical world!
  5. At first, this ride was kind of eh to me. It is really taking shape. I especially love the fly through and all the (to me) unique elements and sexy curves. Now, there was some art of the full (concept?) coaster. Did I see that in this thread? I thought I did, but maybe not. I have been looking for it for a few days now (I got rid of my copy as again, I thought it was eh.. ) Can someone point me in the right direction?
  6. That was a really great idea checking the actual picture for the time/name! Too bad it is named "world" Seems Robb & Elissa have thought of everything to baffle us! Now why is it that Nestle (and like every manufacturer) feels the need to change the names of their products out of the states? We laugh at our Aurstrailian friend because we "fight" about the names for everything! So they are out of the good 'ol USA for sure. I like the answer for gate D23. It really looks like a D, the character prior to that number. And mucho kudos to everyone for all the research! This is not just a game, but it is a learning experience.
  7. I think I like this new Manta train. The front does look slightly awkward, but I am sure it works well. It looks like the SFGA Superman trains pretty much. The only thing I will wonder is - how on earth will they keep that white, well - white!?
  8. I keep thinking that you guys are on the East coast. With all that nasty snow that I have stared at for the last week, thinking...it will never go away stacked the way it is! But, there is lots of snow on the East coast this week. Where oh where in the world are Robb & Elissa!??
  9. Negative on the looking fat. Besides, you dont have to be fat to be pregnant. Especially if it was in the first trimester. It was just the first thing that popped into my mind with the number two comments. :O) I wonder how long that flight took... We should be able to figure that out.
  10. You know, there seem to be awesome guesses, and some great fun to read delusions in this thread. That number 2 thing got me thinking Elissa may be pregos with #2... but I am not so sure that would be the answer, as you are obviously flying somewhere, internationally more than likely. KT turning two seemed like a great guess, but no pics of her anywhere? I am dying for more clues!
  11. While it doesn't matter to me what the name actually ends up to be, because I love this ride - would they really bring a super hero character type theme to this side of the park as well? Why not keep it on the proper side of the park? I cannot wait until they finally unveil the name though. I hate to speculate!
  12. We now have two awesome things in common! Yeah, Im a huge Buffy fan. Did you know out of the top shows of the 90's.. That beat out Friends!!!!! Friends was 5, that was 4 or 3. There is one more thing that I would like to have in common with you though... an awesome PTR in the year 2009!! I totally love your pics. I know I won't be going to Japan anytime in the near future but your pictures make me want to teleport into DisneySEA!!
  13. Very awesome TR's! As always. Thanks for taking the time to post them! My top five faves of the portion of the PTR I read tonite.. 5. The "Gentlemen" dude pic (OMG...was that the guys from the Buffy episode "Hush"? They creep me out!) 4. The HHN dark shots (yes, like all of them!) 3. The Tokyo monorail. The detail is awesome! 2. DisneySEA's area (I forget the name) with King Tritan. Awesome!! 1. The Confessions M shirt!
  14. Wow Robb!! Thank you for sharing that awesome backstage goodness with us! I must admit, those under belly shots of some of the elements sure made me feel all silly and gleeful. I too once thought that Manta looked almost, dare I say it - dull… These shots make me feel otherwise. Those outside the barricade shots do not do the coaster credit. These inside shots make it look so sweet! (We have to keep in mind, that position we will be in can only allow the body to handle so much. It is not like sitting upright. It should feel much better than it looks.) And that pretzel loop - my most favorite element on a flying coaster!! YAY!! Manta will surely be my very first stop the morning I get to Sea World! I totally cannot wait to see all the theming complete! It will surely look amazing! Anyone going to be in Orlando the first week of July?
  15. Hanno, yet another wonderful PTR!!!! We must give you your own acronym... HPTR... LOL. You have amazing pictures. While I take alot, usually, they are of the people kind. I have been trying to become more versatile since I got my Nikon D40X..... and recently I have been trying to take better dark no flash shots. You have inspired me to do better!!! Thank you for sharing your awesome trip. You make me not want to wait until July to get to Orlando!
  16. WOW! That is really different... very weird to see the Jaws ride minus the water. Also, very cool to see whats under there! Thanks again!
  17. Welcome!!! I loved this TR! Great first shot! Speaking of shots... the pictures are great! I truly hope this will not be your last PTR!!
  18. I'd imagine they have reasoning. Perhaps they are digital copies, in which it will now be easier to change things up for the future. They would have had to make a new map regardless with new rides at the parks. It will probably save them money in the long run.
  19. Thanks for the Seuss Landing info. (I always forget to quote, and actually do not know how to double quote) I just read the WDW marathon TR by Nay, and she actually had a pic from Seuss Landing. What timing! I really didnt realize just how close they were to each other. I know they are next door, but I guess because we never see anything, it felt like a world away! That one circular element looks like, its ...well, circular in that picture. LOL. It has that effect of looking like it is going to connect. (I know its not - for those of you who are thinking...what is she talking about?) Thanks alot for those updates everyone!
  20. I am definitely loving the way it looks. I also think the theme of the coaster fits well in this part of the park. Granted, it changes the skyline, but this is good. Maybe in the future, they will even it out on the other side near Terminator. Jaws... the coaster. LOL. I am very excited to see the final results, and how massive this will be. The first hill alone will be massive. I don't think it will take over Seuss Landing as someone stated, especially since it is in a different park. I never actually noticed, but are they THAT close? Maybe someone can take a picture from Seuss Landing to see if we can see it. I'd do so myself, but it has to wait until I get there in July! I am more interested in seeing how it comes out over City Walk. Is that what it is supposed to do? I need to go back and look at the original drawing. This will definitely bring some life back into a park that IMO needed it. I don't think The Simpsons did it for this park. It was the same type of ride that was already there. I still go every time I am in Florida, but I think it was the most boring out of all parks for most people I know, and they choose to opt out most of the time. Hopefully, I will not have to wait ten years on a line to ride this. I suppose I will have to run to the park at opening...
  21. Oh yes, it does help! Thank you. To know we do not have to spend much time there, (especially since he has been there before) is a plus. I am already planning the day in my head. LOL. We plan on getting the Go Orlando pass, and my friend said that is included in it. SO... we are hitting up Boggy Creek Air Boats early, run to the beach. Cut out of there by 3, go to Dinosaur World - head over to Checkers, (YUM)... then off to Go Karts and Miniature Golf. Maybe Ripleys or Wonderworks. I forget which is in there. But since they are all around the same area on I-Drive... whichever. Thank you again!
  22. I started to see her live since WTG! I will never forget that one. (I was a fan during the Virgin Tour too, but I was too young to realize she was at Radio City!) We had nosebleed seats in Giants Stadium, to the right on the side. LOL. IT POURED!!!!! (Understatement!!!!). Some nice couple behind us gave me their rain coat! LOL. I still have it. You are right, the tours are all so very different! It is really hard to choose just one. But definitely the one that I had/have the biggest obsession over is Blond Ambition. I can't even say it is because of the DVD release issue, because I have great quality DVD's of three of the shows. IDK... I can say that Drowned World was my least favorite. But I loved it for what it was. Song choice probably played a big part in that. Since Giants Stadium though, we always made sure that our seats were pretty decent. I have never been farther than one section from the stage. I just wish normal prices didn't cost so much! When did you start to like M?
  23. Woah. I really wanted to go to SFA based on the coasters there. I actually was supposed to last year, but things didn't work out. I guess that was for the best! I will definitely try to replace that trip with another park now. Based on all the reviews from the East Coast Trip... What a waste of time! Any suggestions? I live in NY. I've been to SFGA of course, Dorney and Hershey. Looking to broaden my roller coaster horizons in a day trip! Great PTR, even if the park sucked!
  24. I am more amazed each PTR that I get to see! You had me from about 7:45 PM today. It is now 11:10 PM!!!! This is what I get for catching the report late, huh? I really didn't take any breaks either. There were so many things I wanted to comment on but I will definitely not remember due to the twenty pages and time it took for me to get through it. The pictures were ALL amazing! I especially loved the onride photos on the Hypers! I truly wish that I could get that close to Nitro...but that coaster is pretty out of touch. El Toro is sorta blocked also. You did manage some great shots though! I started to take pics like that since my first pic of my family that I took on the HULK in 2004. The faces were priceless! Since then I always try to capture friends and family on rides. You have given me new perspective with the drive to want to do more! Even if it is people I do not know. You rock! I also take lots and lots of pics when I am out and about. What kind of camera and lens sizes were you using? You made me feel as if I was right there on the trip with everyone. I definitely wish I really was... Maybe one day. OR for a day trip if you all are ever back in my neck of the woods. (NY/NJ) Hanno, thank you so much for taking your time to post everything! I look forward to your next PTR... now only if I can catch it as you are posting it!
  25. Ummm... WOW. I love your first set of pics from your new camera! What kind did you end up getting?
