  1. Interesting, that's also what my dad calls being married to my step-mom...
  2. We get plenty of house centipedes as well. Hate those little monsters! I know they're "good" bugs as well but my wife don't care. She wants them dead yesterday!
  3. I didn't realize it was the only one left... Wow, that's a shame.
  4. I can say this about every B&M hyper. They are my favorite type of ride and my top 10 or 15 is littered with these. I'll take them over any other type of ride.
  5. Apocalypse at SFMM. This was one of my favorite GCI's I had ridden, however, I have not ridden it since 2012 and it rode great... I'll add in any wild mouse, not that they're hated, but they don't see the love.
  6. I don't think I realized it was that new. It was a good addition for sure. Definitely not something that says "six flags" to me.
  7. When did all of this take place?
  8. My mind is blown that anyone can pick just one single favorite place at BGW. I wouldn't want to make myself do it!
  9. I went last March on a weekend and it was pretty dead. We waited maybe 10 minutes at the most for anything if I remember correctly. The only catch to that time of year is they are still getting the kinks worked out so you may run into the unusual delay here or there, but it certainly won't ruin the day.
  10. Dang. I didn't realize I'd be getting a agenda for the day. Thanks for the detailed input. As time gets closer we will see if it's something we really wanna do. Maybe it'd be worth taking one extra day on the trip and not having to rush. Good to know I have options.
  11. If you're just going for the coasters (which you shouldn't do) then you can do both in one day. Start with KK and then go to HW, because due to the time change you'll arrive 30 minutes after you left KK. Really, though, both these parks are so much more than just coasters. KK is a full day park and HW is a two day park. You'll need a whole day just for Splashin' Safari. Yeah, I've not been to KK since it was owned by SF. Same time frame for HW as well. The catch is we are going to hit these parks while visiting my in-laws so we won't have much time.
  12. Parks do like making money. However they like not having lawsuits even more. If they didn't provide free water on scorching days and people (especially teens/kids) walk around with no cash and "can't" get water and having heat stroke and dehydration. It's just not worth it. In parks in the south (Carowinds, SFOG, etc.) where 100+ degrees isn't super rare, you'll hear announcements and all concessions will have trays already filled with ice water. Most summer park visits we follow this agenda: Get in line - ride - get free water - repeat Dehydration headaches and amusement parks do not mix well.
  13. Speaking of Holiday World (I'm sure this is more of a question for that forum) do they have any such discounts or twilight pass? I was considering trying to split a day between the two parks. Feasible?
  14. As a native of Southwest Virginia I am obligated to correct this statement But seriously, I do find myself on the fence here. I think as long as Dolly has her hands in it, things will remain as they are. However, after that, I would not be the least bit surprised if they were to open their own "distillery" on site.
  15. Looking at their website (Thanks for the 16pt bonus) They don't However since you live in Virginia, You qualify for this https://www.kentuckykingdom.com/groups/out-of-state-fun-club/ in 2016, it was $29.95 for 2 days Also if you have free time, I recommend Lexington Ice & Mini Golf, Its 3-18 hole courses of mini golf and you can get unlimited for $9.95. It's religious themed but it's not extremely religious themed. Thanks for the heads up, I will look into the out of state discount. But, I think it's just for companies. Not sure that I could get it to work.
  16. That's the method I use when ranking coasters as well. Granted there are other factors involved such as when I last rode something so there is no "perfect ranking system." Sheesh this stuff starts sounding dorky fast...
  17. I'll agree with all of this. This past season I got back to CP for the first time since 2010 (I think) and I renewed my opinion of Magnum. I agree I couldn't stop laughing on this thing, to the point where my wife called me a schoolgirl on the final brake run. Is it a great ride? No. But I'll eat my hat if it ain't fun.
  18. Quick, off topic question. Does KK do any sort of twilight or evening discount tickets? I'll likely be visiting the in-laws in Indiana this summer and may swing by for a few hours.
  19. Awesome pictures! It's great seeing the "bigger picture" here and it gets me a little more excited.
  20. Possessed at Dorney still uses the brake
  21. You're definitely not the only one. I love snowy roller coaster scenes and I love curving GCI drops. Not gonna lie, I was kind of surprised to see Invadr have a straight drop. Seems out of GCI's norm...
  22. In regards to the steel structure/maintenance points. I'm sure that a large part of the reasoning has to do with how many rides this crosses over and under. I feel like It would be more difficult to perform maintenance on the structure with everything under it.
  23. Keep your mouth shut unless you are in need of protein.
