  1. If I remember right, as I don't deliberately save information like this, the Cedars will be around until at least 2018. I believe the dorms next to Corkscrew were taken out with the Breakers remodel and addition of new dorms down the causeway. I would imagine this means they plan to expand the off-site housing for employees for the opportunity to open up the park to a new resort or expanded area for rides and attractions.
  2. Velocity of the ride will determine where and how often the wheels ride or bounce along the track. This is why trims don't necessarily make a ride "smoother" as vibrations are not a linear calculation. If we want a true coaster physics discussion, we should take it elsewhere.
  3. They have already announced the future removal of the Cedars dorms next to Perimeter Rd. Whether or not they use this space for a ride is yet to be seen. As we've seen with Magnum, Mean Streak, and GateKeeper, they are not afraid of expanding the park's boundaries to find room for new rides. Eventually they will need to go the DisneyLand route and start replacing rides with new rides. But they still have time until they need to go that route.
  4. Based on: Taron, Lightning Rod, Mako Based solely on: Valravn, as this is the only 2016 coaster I am almost guaranteed to ride.
  5. The Valravn project is easily matching the scope of the GateKeeper project. There is a very good chance they won't do anything with the entrance until March. Thanks for sharing, Tony!
  6. FYI the trims don't make the ride smoother. Just slower. In actuality, you probably bounce more at the lower speed because the ride time is longer.
  7. Yeah. They have a line stoppage basically 15 min before and after the fireworks.
  8. This topic should be my highest participation but I don't get to watch movies as often as I'd like. I do let hundreds of other people watch movies at work every day though. [/cinema manager] I'm currently watching Young Frankenstein so there's that.
  9. This one is my favorite. But really, has no one mentioned National Lampoon's Vacation??
  10. -Valravn* -That is what almost all CP foundations look like. The majority of that will be covered with grass. -That is the holding brake for the first drop. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Is it just me, or do these RMC rides seem to lose speed more quickly than their large GG counterparts? For the initial height of this ride, the last 30 seconds of ride was incredibly close to the ground.
  12. Wildcat used to be great. Those MF trains are terrible for it though. I would have said Roar @ SFA if I had never ridden Wildcat with Millennium Flyers.
  13. After looking at RCDB for operating B&M/Intamin/GCI rides I've been on... B&M (28) - Iron Wolf @ SFGAm[ -> Apocalypse @ SFA now] Intamin (17) - American Eagle @ SFGAm [i'm ignoring "Wilderness Run" at Cedar Point.] GCI (4) - Wildcat @ Hersheypark [Was one of my favorites before the Millennium Flyer trains. Now it's just painful.]
  14. You might be surprised to find out that there's quite a few people that don't realize the speed comes from gravity.
  15. What's a vulcher? And your initial post came off as dead serious. I am an expert on sarcasm. Besides, not everyone wants an RMC either. So you got that wrong too. Let Tony do his job.
  16. There's quite a bit of steel in those foundations.
  17. Good luck tonight! I'm heading to Mansfield Reformatory for a proper "haunt" tonight.
  18. You're going next weekend? (Oct 9-11) For sure crowds will be a bit heavier as that is Columbus Day weekend. If I remember right, most area schools have Homecoming the following weekend.
  19. I've only been to a few Haunts at KI and can say that I've never seen anything else that busy on a Friday night, including the many haunted houses I visit during the season. I really expected HS football to pull a lot of the teens away from the park on Fridays. It never works out that way.
  20. I see you snuck onto Dragster shortly after they opened it. We were climbing the lift on Millennium the first time I saw the tower light up on Friday. Had to be around 11-1130.
  21. I enjoy being obnoxious and asking if it goes upside down after they give the all clear for dispatch.
  22. I'm going to pick Expedition Everest, without even riding it.
  23. I can completely agree with this. Wildcat was in my top 5 wooden coasters before Millennium Flyer trains. Now it is one of the most uncomfortable rides for me. I can honestly say that those lap weights are some of the most uncomfortable restraints ever designed. I'd love to see Intamin hyper style restraints on these rides, because GCI does some great work. I just don't like getting punched in the stomach/groin while on a ride.
  24. In theory, sure. It would be a nightmare to heartline something like that. Plus, you would want to have the track separate for the station, transfer, and lift.
