  1. I'm seeing the best possibility of using the smaller cranes for the individual track pieces, attach the support, then the large crane for the holding brake.
  2. I'm surprised how quickly they got that support erected considering the maneuvering needed to get it into place. I wonder which crane gets to hold it while they lift the track?
  3. It looks like it was taken from the old airport.
  4. What was the last movie that got rollercoaster facts & stats correct?
  5. Probably mostly prep today. Can't see them lifting much starting this late in the day.
  6. This is correct. The perspective in that image is misleading.
  7. I can't tell if he wants a reply or not. He says to skip it, then asks to shed light on it... I am confused.
  8. Then maybe you picked the wrong career?
  9. Next piece of track is being lifted. Can someone post a new picture?
  10. I love the scale provided by the person on the track at the joint.
  11. So, I know people on this site enjoy the "numbers" game when it comes to parks and rides. Here's the numbers game being played by Star Wars right now: ALL TIME RECORDS Star Wars: The Force Awakens (37 records) Opening Weekend / Holiday Opening / December Opening / PG13 Opening / 3-Day Gross $247,966,675 (2nd Place Opening: Jurassic World $208,806,270) Worldwide Opening Weekend $528,966,675 (2nd Place Opening: Jurassic World $524.9 Million) Second Weekend $149,202,860 (2nd Place Second Weekend: Jurassic World $106,588,440) Top Opening Theater Average - Wide Release / Top Theater Average - Wide Release $59,982 @ 4134 Theaters (2nd Place Average: Jurassic World $48,855 @ 4274 Theaters) Single Day / Opening Day / Friday $119,119,282 (2nd Place Single Day: Harry Potter 7 Part 2 $91,071,119) Sunday $60,553,189 (2nd Place Sunday: Jurassic World $57,207,490) Monday / Non-Holiday Monday $40,109,742 (2nd Place Monday: Star Wars The Force Awakens $31,362,029) Tuesday / Non-Opening Tuesday $37,361,729 (2nd Place Tuesday: The Amazing Spide-Man $35,016,884) Non-Opening Wednesday $38,022,183 (2nd Place Non-Opening Wednesday: Transformers $29,073,898) Non-Opening Friday / Christmas Day $49,325,663 (2nd Place Non-Opening Friday: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen $36,740,666) (2nd Place Christmas Day: Sherlock Holmes $24,608,941) Opening Week / 7-Day Gross $390,856,054 (2nd Place 7-Day: Jurassic World $296,211,655) 4-Day Gross $288,076,417 (2nd Place: Jurassic World $234,151,090) 5-Day Gross $325,438,146 (2nd Place: Jurassic World $258,493,605) 6-Day Gross $363,460,329 (2nd Place: Jurassic World $278,389,075) 8-Day Gross $440,181,717 (2nd Place: Jurassic World $325,326,090) 9-Day Gross $496,913,249 (2nd Place: Jurassic World $364,438,525) 10-Day Gross $540,058,914 (2nd Place: Jurassic World $402,800,065) Fastest to $100M: 1 days $119,119,282 (2nd Place: 2 Days Jurassic World $151,598,780) Fastest to $150M: 2 days $187,413,486 (2nd Place: 2 Days Jurassic World $151,598,780) Fastest to $200M: 3 days $247,966,675 (2nd Place: 3 Days Jurassic World $208,806,270) Fastest to $250M: 4 days $288,076,417 (2nd Place: 3 Days Jurassic World $258,493,605) Fastest to $300M: 5 days $325,438,146 (2nd Place: 8 Days Jurassic World $325,326,090) Fastest to $350M: 6 days $363,460,329 (2nd Place: 9 Days Jurassic World $364,438,525) Fastest to $400M: 8 days $440,181,717 (2nd Place: 10 Days Jurassic World $402,800,065) Fastest to $450M: 9 days $496,913,249 (2nd Place: 15 Days Jurassic World $460,533,660) Fastest to $500M: 10 days $540,058,914 (2nd Place: 17 Days Jurassic World $500,373,390) All-Time Domestic: 5th ($600,949,526) All-Time Worldwide: 9th ($1,228.3 Million)
  12. I'm sure if you do some average +/- deviation you will get back "4" from that data set.
  13. Krampus was worth watching, but probably not worth watching again. I really enjoyed watching Wars a second time.
  14. I don't think anyone assumed otherwise. But considering they didn't hoist the track until close to 3pm meant they were trying to get it all done today. They could have left the support column up and hoisted the track tomorrow.
  15. My guess is they are off the rest of the week, assuming the top is finished. So if they finish tonight, they have tomorrow off too.
  16. Lifting the top of the lift at the moment.
  17. I'm pretty sure that's what I said, but with a different number of words.
  18. They moved the turn earlier. It appears as though they may attempt to lift both simultaneously* today. *By that, I mean use both cranes until everything is in place.
  19. If I was Tony, I would be spray painting random dots all over the property to watch coaster enthusiasts go ape sh*t. Go a step further and mark out centerline measurements to a "blank" area of the park.
  20. I had assumed many of the "spoilers" prior to seeing it, but that didn't make the movie any less enjoyable.
  21. I think maybe he just missed a zero when typing that. (Typo's happen.) According to manitowoccranes.com The people who make the crane... say that it can lift up to 400 tons. Granted, I don't really know that much about cranes, I'm just going based off of what I have read... I think that's the weight. Right above that is the winch power of 35000lbf.
  22. All three original films were similar as well. I think it was the departure from that format, among other things, that plagued the prequels.
  23. This is where I read it: Source.
  24. Either I mis-read or someone misinformed me. I was told 40 tons 446 ft max lift. If the lift capacity is really ten times that, my entire post is invalid.
