  1. I'm tempted to say that someone (aka Tony) has been reading fan sites for too long.
  2. I can verify. I have had a rollback on Maverick (but still not on Dragster... hmmm)
  3. I just watched the POV. Wow. A long right turn followed by a long left turn.
  4. The trims really knock Mean Streak down to one of the worst first drops. Goliath at Magic Mountain isn't too terrible. I equate it to a long flat launch type start. It certainly isn't great, but it's not terrible.
  5. Is there any indication of the coaster height increasing?
  6. Friday night isn't too terrible for rides, especially after the haunts open. Plus this is the start of Homecoming season, so quite a few teens will be busy with that.
  7. They also defined a dive coaster as "any coaster with a vertical drop" so there's that.
  8. Well, it's not completely wrong...
  9. I've had 2+ on: Magnum, Mean Streak, Raptor, Mantis, Millennium Force, Wicked Twister, Dragster, Maverick at Cedar Point, and 2+ on dozens of other rides at numerous Six Flags and Paramount(formerly) parks. Heck I can probably say it was 3+ for Xcelerator, but that included hanging out at the entrance with one of the Ops because we had ridden everything else 3x already.
  10. Keep in mind that the size of dive coaster trains has a huge affect on drag. They are twice as wide as normal B&M trains so they will have twice the drag at the same speed. This will slow it down significantly faster than, say, Rougarou which is not as tall but has narrower cars.
  11. I think the slowest line I waited in was for X at SFMM in 2002. I happened to be there in August when it re-opened. I have waited 2.5 hours for many rides. I don't think I have any over 3 hours.
  12. They really don't until you look closely at Raptor next to Valravn. As I like explaining it to people, is to imagine Power Tower being above the Marina Gate. That's about where the top of the ride will be. Then imagine GateKeeper's first drop coming out towards the midway, as that is about the size of the Immelman turn.
  13. Turns, possibly. They would likely be very wide turns as they are very large "boats" that are on a fixed track under the water. That is why the turntable is designed into the ride, as it is the most efficient way to return the boats to the loading station.
  14. I'm actually a little bummed about that. The train was a unique part of that Haunt.
  15. That one single track uses more steel than two separate tracks. But it also uses less joints and welds, so you may be cutting down on labor as well. So it's just a question of balancing those costs.
  16. It would be a financial and logistical nightmare. Sandusky Bay is a better option, but you are still dealing with deep ice levels and natural currents. If they build into the lake, or bay, they would create an enclosed lagoon where they could filter and control water levels and currents.
  17. Fast Pass + VR? You would rent the headset for the day and board a specific one or two rows on the ride. This would cut down on load times, as only 2-4 per ride will have headsets, and give Fast Pass a boost on less busy days.
  18. I wonder how much cost will be affected using that much steel. I see a materials vs labor cost being the major factor in manufacturing.
  19. Cedar Point cannot build in Lake Erie, nor would they want to. The best option for CP is the Lagoon, but access has been limited with the installation of Dinosaurs Alive. It'd be fun to see Geauga Lake install a new thrill ride. They can build in the lake.
  20. I had that issue in full screen mode. It seemed fine in windowed mode.
  21. They charge extra for the "Skeleton Key" add-on. It's basically just an extra room in each maze.
  22. So I went ahead and threw in my $15. My bargain-basement laptop doesn't enjoy when I get too much going on. I'm going to try the PC at work later to see how a bigger system handles the game.
  23. As long as we're simplifying, why even build another coaster? They have so many options already that adding another coaster will just be more of the same. Really, the dive coaster concept has been locked down by Busch parks with an exclusivity deal, and Cedar Fair jumped on the opportunity to bring one in. The two in the US are extremely well received, with very minimal layouts. Any complaints about "lack" of anything on this ride is only because of the "excess" of everything the park already has. As for the rest of the park, I think more interactive rides and/or water rides would do well at the park. I couldn't believe the number of people that enjoyed the "River Battle" ride at Dollywood on days when everything was a walk-on.
