I'm going to clear up a little confusion... 1. Busch Gardens had an exclusivity deal with B&M for the Dive Coasters. No other park could install one within X years. (Apparently 9) 2. Vest harnesses are significantly wider than standard OTSR. The outside riders on Banshee are outside the rails, while that same seat is under the rails on Raptor. It is very likely that the 8 seat train is as wide as the 10 seat train. It doesn't need dual load for 24 seats. The duration of Dive Coasters is short. Ideally they will dispatch when the previous train hits the midcourse, as the following train approaches the final blocks. And the location is excellent for watchers. The first drop faces the midway and runs along the marina entrance.

The proposed location is about 350 feet less than 3 nautical miles from the runway. WindSeeker is exactly 3 nm and Power Tower is 3.08 nm from the runway. The old Space Spiral tower was 400 feet closer to the runway, but was built before the FAA cared about the now-defunct little airport.

I agree, but would word it a little differently: 1. Attempt to compete on a national scale by combining 3 parks and charging for one. 2. Eliminate the animal park(2/3 of the max attendance), then complain of low attendance. 3. Eliminate the ride park (1/2 of the remaining attendance), stating that it wasn't financially stable. I am still bitter about this. Six Flags did it wrong, and Cedar Fair did it wrong.

The app is a gimmick? I'm not sure what you are talking about.

I'm glad they're giving it some attention. The lines for Blue Streak are pretty crazy for their Halloween events.

So the Cedar Point VR app is currently available for iPhone on the App Store, but is still hidden on the Android Play Store.

Honestly, the scariest coaster I've been on is Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park. No height or speed, but man does it look like it is ready to crumble!

So, I anticipated crowds today, holiday weekend and all. What I did not expect was the Ride Ops to serve more stacks than the local IHOP. The 45 minute wait for Diamondback took 85 minutes. A side note: I saw a disgusting amount of pizza per capita, with the $1 food deals. I feel bad for those cooks.

I can't imagine the nylon wheels damaging the steel track. However, B&M does have suspension on it's wheel carriages. Based on the speed of the ride and the quality of fabrication, I could see noise (rattle) coming from the carriages vibrating over less than 100% smooth steel track. This would also explain why it is heard and not felt.

Figured as much. This reminds me of Screamscape 15-20 years ago, back when 80% of their "news" was hearsay rumors.

Heard from who? This seems highly unlikely.

While I don't care much for this VR tech, it would be a great addition to the park. Renting headsets would require a lot of upkeep, and probably cost $15 each use.

Based on the leaked layout, that would either eliminate the Celebration seating bleachers or the Cadillac Cars ride. Also, that would put both drops almost exactly over the Marina entrance midway.

The question now: what could they possibly be doing with track sections before foundations are placed? Most likely announcement related, unless they are setting up something for Halloweekends.

Upon further inspection, the layout I posted would need to be rotated counter-clockwise about 15°-20° as the Marina entrance actually splits between the old Goodtime and the Cadillac Cars. This would put the drop alongside the entrance path and the lift a bit closer to Raptor's cobra roll. This also puts the FAA location much closer to the high point in the leaked layout.

They still need to finish placing markers for the foundation. It will be a few weeks before vertical construction starts.

Can you tell me where the nearest Coasters R Us is located. I need one of those bad boys for my backyard. Batavia, OH is only about 4 hours south of CP, and less than an hour from KI. I'm sure they can help you out.

You can rotate the lift/station a little closer to Raptor, which actually gets the FAA location closer to the layout. However, rotating much further around puts low zones very close to, or on top of, the Cadillac Cars ride.

So, based on the FAA site and the leaked layout, this is the closest I could get. I also highlighted the current Marina Entrance Midway.

So, did anyone else notice that they moved all the cameras yesterday, within an hour of parking a trailer in the GTT construction site?
